I'm not "down" with what the kids are listening to these days. If, by electronic, you mean electric guitars and keyboards, then yes. I am a metal head. Specifically, European fantasy metal. I don't like American metal. It's garbage.

It seems to me that electronic (We used to call it techno. Is that still used?) is a dime per dozen, meaning that people can just remix the same basic notes and crank out a hundred songs that are all basically the same. It's really easy to make and doesn't require much talent. Learning to play a guitar or piano, or a classical instrument for that matter, requires talent.

On the other hand, I don't listen to it so I don't know what the hell I'm talking about and my opinion isn't valid. There, I said it so you don't have to. So does it require talent? Maybe a different kind of talent? Do there exits Mozarts and Beethovens of modern music? Seems to me that writing a symphony requires a lot more work and talent than playing around with wave forms on a computer.

Techno is a specific genre of electronic music.

Also, comparing the talent of producers and technicians to the talent of musicians doesn't really work. It's like comparing an oil painter to a sculpture, there's a lot of overlapping fundamentals and theories, but you can't really say that one requires less talent or hard work than the other. Apples and oranges.

You're right when you say that someone can just "remix the same basic notes and crank out a hundred songs". But those songs are going to suck. A guitarist can just record themselves playing the same basic power chords and produce a hundred songs. Those songs are also going to suck.

Furthermore, there's loads of different ways of producing electronic music. Some use software, some use hardware, others use instruments.

Wow its been quite a while! I thought this track was worthy enough to be posted on this thread. The vocals and the melody are absolutely outstanding. This is why i love progressive house!

This is probably the most perfected dubstep track in terms of actual musical composition and the drop at 2:22 is absolutely mind blowing. Excellent sound design.

Did you just label Savant under a SINGLE genre? BLASPHEMY!

...but in all seriousness, that can kinda be labeled under dubstep... and I really love that song...

I've been getting into some Glitch Hop (like this) a lot recently, anyone got some suggestions?

I know, I'm contradicting myself in my own post, but I couldn't find the song I was thinking of before. You get what I mean though guys?

I can't think what to put here, so have a swimsuit Spencer Sotello

Haha Savant even labeled his genre on Facebook as: R.I.P. Genres.

As for the glitch hop tracks I would recommend this one.
