gaming Questions about the Wii U

Enemy Stand

Recommended Posts

I was planning on getting a Wii U.

-What are your opinions of it?

-Is it good for those who will play mostly first party games?

-Would you recommend getting a pro controller?

-Which is the smarter choice— getting the Wind Waker bundle and buying NSMBU+NSLU, or vice versa?

I bought mine when the Wii U first came out. I am jelly about the bundles that are out now. The games I have are Nintendo Land, Sonic & All-Stars Racing, and New Super Mario Bros. U. In my opinion, these are very good games. However, I am excited by the upcoming games and such.

Anyway, I think the Wii U is a good console. I do recommend a Pro-controller if you have siblings or parents interested in playing. The bundle is up to you. Getting the NSMBU+NSLU bundle and buying Wind Waker would be cheaper, but getting the Wind Waker Bundle has the Legend of Zelda GamePad.

- I think it's a really neat console, with plenty of games I'd love to get like Wonderful 101 and Super Mario 3D World, and 2014 looks like a really great year for the console with games like Bayonetta 2, X, and Smash Bros, and and other games

- I think the pro controller is good for those who may not like the touch screen controls, though not every game supports it

- I think the NSMBU+Luigi bundle looks like a better bundle, since it pretty much comes with 2 games(I know the Luigi pack is essentially add-on DLC, but I've heard that it more or less makes up a whole game)

I think since I'll be the main one playing it (my family members aren't really into Nintendo) I think a pro controller isn't necessary.

How much would I save if I get the NSMBU bundle? The Zelda controller might be worth an extra 10 or 20 bucks.

I've had a Wiiu since launch. I would recommend getting the Wind Waker HD bundle because you get a specialized Wiiu controller with the Zelda etchings which look really cool. You can get New Super Mario Bros. U for $60 (if you buy new) and then just download New Super Luigi U for $20 off the E-Shop and save a little bit of money. You need New Super Mario Bros. U if you want to play the downloaded version of Luigi U btw.  The digital version of Luigi U is $20 cheaper than the physical copy and you get both games if you go that route. I hope I helped. Glad to see people supporting the struggling Wiiu.

Get the Wii U and here's why.

  • A bit cheaper than PS4 and Xbox one.
  • More focused on first party games.
  • Slightly underrated third party support that works.
  • Up to five players can play at once.
  • Great improvement over the original.
  • Nintendo games in HD.
  • Backwards compatibility.
  • Various controllers for your comfort.

I hope that helps.

Did they fix the big problems of having to replace batteries every time you ran low? I know the Game Pad does, but do the new controllers? Also is it easier to connect your controllers?
