MLPForums Phanact 1,374 December 20, 2013 Share December 20, 2013 If you want to search something illegal use the TOR browser instead of firefox or chrome. This thing jumbles up your IP so badly that nothing can track you down (but it takes time to load up a page). Then go the hidden wiki then browse the online illegal stuff. Only an idiot would use a normal browser yet Google alone to search up illegal stuff. TOR was recently found to be infiltrated by the FBI and numerous users have been prosecuted for various reasons. http://www.ibtimes.com/harvard-university-bomb-hoax-how-fbi-used-tor-network-catch-suspect-eldo-kim-1517598 http://www.theverge.com/2013/12/18/5224130/fbi-agents-tracked-harvard-bomb-threats-across-tor let's love for me and lets love loud and let's love now cause soon enough we'll die
Scootalove 10,689 December 20, 2013 Share December 20, 2013 That does not work as much as you thought it would, read the links if you want. Well, if you say so. As for the topic, there's billions of people using Google. I'm pretty me searching "what color are Stan Kirsh's eyes" and "How tall is Adrian Paul" are drops in the bucket that no one gives a shit about. 2 "You know, I don't know who or what you are Methos, and I know you don't want to hear this, but you did teach me something. SwigglySwiggly 358 December 20, 2013 Share December 20, 2013 TOR was recently found to be infiltrated by the FBI and numerous users have been prosecuted for various reasons. They exaggerated their success. A normal Browser wont hide you from the FBI.... using a normal browser is like painting a red target on your forehead for the FBI then popping flares and running around butt naked. Using TOR hides you, the FBI can pick you out but at least it is MUCH safer than a normal browser. Click on the links!: Here! & Here! Neon Fire 473 December 20, 2013 Share December 20, 2013 Eh... I actually decided I won't bother switching browsers or stop using google. I'm not doing anything illegal and plus, that means I'd probably have to stop using youtube, since it's connected to google.

uuunph 288 December 20, 2013 Share December 20, 2013 I know. You also said about you're reluctant to switch browsers though. If you want a browser that is Chrome but without all the tracking shit then use the link I posted :3 +1 to Chromium > Chrome. You could also try SRWare Iron if you want, but Chromium's just fine with regards to Chrome-like browsers.

Scootaloodle 1,623 December 20, 2013 Share December 20, 2013 (edited) Well it’s not a shock: to be honest though whilst I might search up more explicit stuff sometimes, none of it is illegal, and if there monitoring everyone who cares? I’m pretty sure Google searches have stuff explicit in the searches a great deal as much as the none explicit stuff, and I mean from 1000 of people all across the world not just me. So I don't care myself Edited December 20, 2013 by Asherdangerdash
Evilshy 5,090 December 20, 2013 Share December 20, 2013 I thought everybody already knew Google tracks you. Almost every major site tracks you. Hell, I can see all of your IP addresses, where you post from, and anybody else who posts from that IP, just from the mod control panel. I could probably find out quite a few of your real names and where you live, too. I have no reason to, though, except in a few cases where we wanted to make sure an account was legit and not a dupe/somebody trying to get around a permaban. The majority of tracking is to sell you stuff. Keep adblock on and it usually won't be a problem. If you're worried about only seeing links to stuff you probably already agree with, you can turn off search history. If you want to search for things you really shouldn't be, proxy up. And regarding duckduckgo... if they need 3 different sites with lame, middle-school-esque graphics to get their point across, I'm not sure I want them to have my business. Also, regarding the darknet, deepweb, or whatever you want to call it... it's pretty boring unless you want to do something illegal and know exactly how to get where you want to go. All of the "urls" consist of long strings of numbers, so you need to already know them. Sure, there's Hiddenwiki, with links and stuff, but even they stay away from the really illegal shit. I mean, they mention a few child porn sites and places where you can buy stolen credit card numbers or hire hitmen, but they don't link them (or at least, they have a list of broken links). If you're determined, you can find the real shit, but there's no reason to run the risk unless you actually need to. 2 Signature now 99% less edgy! Zygen 6,066 December 21, 2013 Share December 21, 2013 As others have said almost all sites track you in some way or another. And if people really really want to find you or something theres probably a way to do it that isn't really super hard. The thing is most people have no reason to, and especially a company as big as google, Google isn't going to track down everyone using their browser, what purpose does that serve? They can see your browser history yeah, so? I don't do anything illegal, infact most of my time i spent on here and youtube frankly, so not much use in tracking me. Its nothing surprising that sites are tracking you. The thing is what are they gonna do? I haven't done anything wrong, and they have no reason to do anything to me. its just to sell you stuff most of the time. Which i ignore anyways. Even something like a sever i had for a game i use to play a while ago let me see everyone on the severs IP's. So? I have no desire to track down all those people, I have no reason to even if they're IP is right in front of me. I'd be more wary of the links for whatever search engine that is, I'd rather use something that Millions of people use across the world then something which i've never heard of and seems kinda suspicious. Sure, i could be just paranoid, but the point is i don't care of Google tracks me, i haven't done anything wrong, and they have no reason to do anything to me. I don't mean to offend you, i just don't agree with your statements as being a valid reason to try to hiatus Google or something. Much less in favor of something i know nothing about. And i just thought that sites tracking you was a relatively common knowledge thing. Technology in this day and age can do some crazy stuff. 3 Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! Fluttershyfan94 5,742 December 21, 2013 Share December 21, 2013 (edited) I have known since I first used a computer that everything would be tracked yet I just sort of don't care. I mean there are so many people out there, it just doesn't seem to matter much to me and I've used a lot of search engines and just don't care because almost all sites do track you. Also, since I see it mentioned I have used a blog that even showed me people's IPs and you can do a lot by knowing a person's IP so there just isn't a need to worry since we're already tracked and it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. As long as you aren't looking up illegal stuff and as long as you use the internet with common sense then you shouldn't have to worry. I don't know for me this is just not surprising and actually I have known this ever since I first used the internet. ChoroChii 284 December 26, 2013 Share December 26, 2013 lol I'm so addicted to Google, nothing you say at this point will steer me away. I also can't trust those duck people either because they are also a corporation. Most of them track me anyway. That filter bubble is really interesting, though. o-o It explains a lot. lol
