So, I've gotten quite bored of listening to the same music over and over again, so... if you have any sugesstions, post them here:

My current list consists of:

- Alice Cooper - Avantasia - Ayreon - Betrayal at Krondor (game soundtrack) - Blind Guardian - Darkseed

- Emerald Rose - Enya - Hammerfall - Inkubus Sukkubus - Iron Maiden - Judas Priest - Metallica

- Nokturnl - Phineas and Ferb (soundtrack) - Rednex - Rhapsody (of Fire) - Sinead Lohan - Skyclad

- Sonata Arctica - Star One - Thin Lizzy - Two Worlds (game soundtrack) and - a Wow Machinima mix

Sorry but I flat out refuse to anything like Beiber, Gaga or Perry, I also refuse to listen to hip hop, rap, thrash metal, grindcore/screamo and modern day RnB.

I do listen to rock n roll, heavy/progressive/dark/symphonic metal and rock, indy, punk and ska.

Serious suggestions only, please

Well I'm heavily inclined towards organ and strong solemn piano if heavy metals are your thing. (Organs can have several tons of tin piping for them. Hurr hurr puns)

Yeah I'm more classical than anything. Some of Tchaikovsky's peices might sound pretty badass compared to modern rock whatevers if you cross your eyes a bit.

Hammerfall and Blind Guardian are great.

Saxon are wonderful band within' that genre

Definitely Sabaton if your not a fan of them already. Nightwish is another wonderful band as well that sounds up your alley Apocalyptica is another suggestion. You said you like ska Rancid, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones are some good bands. If you like AC/DC or Motorhead I'd say try out Airbourne maybe.

Also check out Volbeat and an old school punk band Social Distortion. But that would be my suggestions.

Listen to some rock music from Red and Thousand Foot Krutch. Here's a list to get started.

Thousand Foot Krutch Songs:

The Invitation

Welcome to the Masquerade

Already Home

Smack Down

So Far Gone

Red Songs:

Lie To Me (Also known as "Denial")

Faceless

Death Of Me

Breathe Into Me

Not Alone

Until We Have Faces

Hope you enjoy these groups. They're some of my favorites, so hopefully, you'll like them, too. :)

Here's one of my personal favorite songs.

I listen to Alternative Rock more than anything, to be honest.

Here's a song from my favorite band:

A bit of a weird beginning to a song but it gets better, if you ask me. "Louder Than Words" always struck me as atmospheric.

How about Aviators, then?

They're a good brony band.

^ Yes I do like Aviators, on my phone I have Luna by them :) (btw I saw Airborne live a few years ago)

@,

Listened to PM, they're ok but not really my sort of thing (but thanks for suggesting them anyway)

Also, listening to the Les Friction and am really liking it

@,

I saw them hm... quite a while ago I was between 18 and 21 so between 5 or 8 years ago. I saw them with Velveteen Sky (when they were still together, one of the guitarists is my older sister's friend's brother)

You should definitely listen to more Nightwish. Ghost Love Score is my favorite song of theirs. :) If you like Symphonic metal a lot, definitely give Epica, Delain, and Sirenia a listen. The rest are great too in my opinion.

There was one other song I really liked, I think it was called "the dead poet" or something like that, it has a boy's voice in it somewhere

Depending on what you want, probably metal, but I do have some suggestions. Oh yeah, I will also post some videos at the bottom at each little section.

  • Diablo Swing Orchestra these guys really blow me away. They're classified as metal, yet they often incorporate elements of jazz and swing into their music. This consequently give them a sound that I haven't really heard any where else. If your interested in them I would suggest either starting on either their first or third albums.

  • Devin Townsend very rarely do I see metal artists blend humour with seriousness and almost manic glee in a way similar to Devin. Originally part of the band Strapping Young Lad, he really hit his stride when he broke away from the band and started making his own music. A lot is more experimental, and can frequently leave the realms of metal. If you want to see the more light-hearted and humorous side of his work might I suggest the album Ziltoid the Omniscient, listen to it in track order if you do choose it. Granted if you choose the more serious side, I would suggest either Infinity or Ocean Machine: Biomech.

Really awesome stuff. Taking jazz to the next level!
