gaming Should I play TF2?

Hello, there, forums and bronies of the herd.

I've been reading the Staff vs Members TF2 Night and it. Is. Tempting. I've been running out of games lately and I really need to find something to help me blow of some steam, and speaking of which or.. 'steam', I was planning to jump in to this... Team Fortress 2.

I'm new to TF2, so a bit of a noob, mainly though, should I play it?

p.s. I'm a noob on PvP stuff, tend to hang back inside the spawning area or base or near the flag -- camper dude.

Alright. If you're new, I personally suggest that you start off with Soldier or Medic. Learn the basics of the game in training, and then jump right in! :D

If you need help/want to be tutored, add me on Steam (Magos Amphrose) and I'll find the time to help. :)

Or I'm going to be trolling (figuratively) around the server for a while. Meet me there. :)

Soldier or Medic... uh, sticking in the back, which class suits that the most, oh... and being sneaky both far away and close.

And does playing Far Cry 3 on Survivor difficulty and being stealthy counts as some sort of a practice?

Son, TF2 is a new experience for everyone. But... err... yeah, I guess it does. :)

So, when you get Steam and TF2 onto your computer, join this server- play.poniarcade.com:27100 - and let me know. And then I will help you more than that schtoopid practice mode (which you may want to check out afterwards)

Soldier is a great starter and medic can be good to, you can also try pyro, they do require a bit of skill but at the same time they are incredibly fun to play. Avoid the spy or demoman for now since they have an incredibly high learning curve. Sniper and engineer are good once you learn the layouts of the map and the general way players tend to move so you can take advantage of it, the rest are good to so once you get comfortable just give each one a try. I'd also say stick with smaller games since the larger ones can get incredibly hecktick at times, unless you enjoy that.

And remember, everyone is a spy.

Give it a try. It never hurts to try something new. I'm not that great at the game, but I had a blast last night on the TF2 server with all of the other bronies. I hope you like the game. :)

Yeah, I sure hope so, never been really good to PvP games

lose nothing but a few hours of your life xD

I won't lose my mind, right?  :o

TF2 is easily one of my favourite games.

You should start out by playing Medic, Soldier, or Pyro. They're all relatively easy classes to play and get kills with.

But PLEASE don't skip the training. There's a lot going on in TF2, unlike your average shorter, so its important that you learn the basics!

Happy shooting! (or whatever)

High learning curve, got it. Well, I am a slow learner but I can be fast at getting used to stuff, or at least that's what my teachers said.

And hecktick, what do you mean by hecktick?

Spy, sneaky dudes, I hate sneaky dudes. I tend to be driven to a rage mode if someone kills me from behind multiple times.

Who know's you just might lose your mind too.

Oh and do not forget the hats. There simple isn't a better hat simulator out there. It has that fun mini game with guns and stuff  in order to get them too. All kinds of fun

What's the difference with Brink? I've played Brink on LAN with my friends, and I do get used to that... so, yeah, what's the difference, besides the graphics, just lay out the basics, if somepony would...

@, Well... there are spies... and there are spies... and more spies...

Let me guess... WoW Rogue equivalent?

how do you even compare WoW with TF2?

two completely different games right there XD

@,

well, i've never had any spy drive me mad in TF2. the game is just balanced out so well that it doesn't really matter, because everybody has the same chance at winning.

seriously tough, you gotta play the game to really find out what kind of game it is!

Okay... and I need to be a team player don't I, and all these years I've only been nothing but a lone wolf, gonna need some time to get use to the whole team player thing.

It's different than most other games, but once you get used to it, its a lot of fun.

Also, this is what the fan base is pretty much like.^^

There are many reasons to play it.

It's got interesting visuals, it never gets boring, every class has its own defining playstyle and it's free. And last but not least, you can put ponies in it! What's not to like?
