Kid kicked out for liking ponies.

That's pretty messed up. But at least through this fandom we know we are not alone and can get support.

Bronies are awesome and the amount of support they are willing to give to a person they may have never seen is pretty damn awesome.

Problem is most parents don't understand and think that because it deals with colorful ponies that it changes your sexual orientation if you watch the show. I mean it's pretty stupid to assume something like that.

This event has actually made me feel scared, I'm taking me and my pony episodes into secrecy .______.

Some people are ignorant. Personally while my parents don't like the show themselves, are completely fine with me enjoying it. They realize I'm gonna live my life however I want, there's bigger stuff to worry about for them than me watching MLP.

Some people draw the short end of the stick, and I hope this kid's parents come to their senses and realize just how stupid kicking their child out like that was.

Hopefully the fact that hundreds of people are giving support and encouragement to their child should show the parents that bronies are not creepers who live in basements and watch ponies.

You never know, maybe some good will come out of this event and people will start to realize there is nothing wrong with watching a cartoon.

That's the kind of love you really only see in the Brony community.

...No.

People helping each other happens everyday in all walks of life in one way or another. It's just not the kind of thing that gets talked about.

That said, I'm going to see what I can do for this person.

I read this earlier this morning, and frankly, I was amazed. This is why the human race is getting worse and worse. They hate each other for absolutely no rational reason. Hopefully, this fandom becomes a big percentage of the entire human population and the world undergoes a revolution, uniting it into one for the benefit of all like it should be.

That would be awesome. The world, united by ponies.

But seriously, I feel bad for this kid. Makes me thankful that my friends and family are so supportive and caring.

Absolutely right. If his parents would have seen how nice the MLP community is and how fun all Bronies have on the forums and videos, they should have a different opinion.

You know, perhaps I misspoke. You're right; people outside the brony community do help each other in times of need. I'll correct myself by saying "You see this kind of love expressed more vocally in the Brony community."

I only wish I could contribute more than just emotional support for this kid.

It would be nice if it were possible to show them (or her, I think it was his mother, but I'm not sure), but they sound pretty close minded. I doubt they would try to listen.

Better.

Not to go off on you (or anypony else, for that matter), I just don't like when we put ourselves above everyone else, especially considering that's what places like this are supposed to be havens from (others putting themselves above us). /mini rant

True facts, but at least you care. The best you can do is the best you can do, after all. :)

I know what you mean, I don't like acting as if we are above everyone but I do like acknowledging how great this community is :)

The fuck ? ._. Aren't somepony's parents supposed to be supporting you

in no matter what you do ? Well... Apparently not, i guess ._.

I would once be stunned, or even in disbelief, at this sort of thing. But today, I am aware of parents doing much worse, thanks to the press.

In a novel I've read recently, one of the characters who's been through tough times makes a bitter remark about that. "Parents don't have to love you for being their child, and you don't have to love them for being your parents."

And considering news articles I've read, online or on paper... nothing impresses me anymore.

Truly is a mad world...

I'm glad that so many people are showing their support for this kid. Humanity could learn a thing or two from Bronies.

Haters, be warned. There are far more of us than you think.

Isn't it like...illegal to do something like that? The kid could sue his own parents for something like that, couldn't he? They stripped a minor of his home because they don't like a show he watches, it's unreasonable and child services would have a fit at it.

It should be, but parents have done worse and gotten away with it. I hope there's more to his story, because if this is really how some parents are legally able to treat their kids, I'm going to lose a good deal of respect for our legal system.

I do think it's illegal but they will likely get away with it as they can easily say he ran away. Edited by Lady Rarity Pony

That, and it's not always easy for children to sue their own parents. No matter how horrible and unreasonable, they're still "big" people kids look up to.

Hence how

parents have done worse and gotten away with it.

We teach children to respect and obey adults, no wonder some of the latter can abuse it and go unreported.
