OG Blaze 269 January 17, 2014 Share January 17, 2014 I think Laurn Faust should turn My Little Pony into something everyone can enjoy, some people ask for a new villain well ok why not, some other things too what do you think got any good ideas? Delernil 952 January 17, 2014 Share January 17, 2014 'appeal to bronies' Why would it not appeal to then if they like it? 3 I only love you platonically. As in plate tectonics. As in two bodies sliding against each other. <3 -Makusu

Guest January 17, 2014 Share January 17, 2014 I think Laurn Faust should turn My Little Pony into something everyone can enjoy, some people ask for a new villain well ok why not, some other things too what do you think got any good ideas? Lauren Faust has not had anything to do with the show since season 2. That being said, they are doing a fine job with the show by not trying to make it appeal strictly to bronies. Why mess with the formula that works?
Scootalove 10,689 January 17, 2014 Share January 17, 2014 We enjoy the show the way it is, it doesn't have to adapt to appeal to the bronies if we already enjoy the show the way it is. I don't think changing anything about the show is necessary, the formula of the show is fine the way it is. Lauren Faust has not been involved with the show since Season 2, I'm pretty sure you don't fix what is not broken in the first place because you don't have to appeal to anyone if you don't want to. 4 Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
OG Blaze 269 January 17, 2014 Author Share January 17, 2014 Not strictly to bronys at all everyone, cause right now they appealing to just little girls, why not give something to real fans? ReverseFaller 2,484 January 17, 2014 Share January 17, 2014 Well, even though they're only trying to appeal to little girls, just look at how many non-little girls like the show. I'd rather them keep making episodes the way they do. We fell in love with the show as it is now, so why change it if it's good? But I completely agree with the fact that the show has a good formula, just wanted to know if anyone else felt differently Whoa whoa whoa. Avoid talk like "real fans" that kind of implies the intended audience are not "real fans". I am sure that little girls love the characters just as much as you do. I know my 7 year old niece loves Pinkie Pie and looks up to her as a hero. That's more than I can say for myself. If anything, they have already got a good mix of appealing to older fans and younger fans.
Judgement 445 January 17, 2014 Share January 17, 2014 I think that they should keep doing what they are doing. (with maybe a direction leaning a little more at guys. I mean, many of the episodes, while not exactly meant for guys, have many things in them that the target audience wouldn't understand already) I don't want them to go overboard though. I want it to stay the same but maybe with a few new specs here and there that guys could relate to. Tom V.S. Boulder: Who will win?
SkyBound 829 January 17, 2014 Share January 17, 2014 (edited) I believe she already has, and the staff currently working on the show have been continuing that mindset. At least in my opinion When Lauren Faust began deveolping the show, her intent was to create a show that would appeal not only to the target demographic, but also entertain parents, siblings etc. that would possibly watch the show with them (which could included anyone of us and that is how I first discovered the show). Essentially, it had the potential to be entertaining to anyone. Seeing how the fandom has grown since the show's first airing or even looking upon everyone on this forum, that seems to be evidence enough that they have succeeded on that front. Game Twinkle 43 January 17, 2014 Share January 17, 2014 From what I have heard Lauren Faust left the show, besides that, isn't the MLP that was not meant for bronies what attracted us in the first place? Yes their demographic is probably not what they expected, but again this is a show we came to love as is. I think it is fine the way it is. FoxyCryptid 4,330 January 17, 2014 Share January 17, 2014 Considering the show is amassing enough of a audience that the Season 3 premiere broke the record for most people watching a season premiere of a cartoon, I'd say the show is doing a fine job of appealing to everyone. 2 "You know, I don't know who or what you are Methos, and I know you don't want to hear this, but you did teach me something. If gaining a rabid and passionate periphery demographic audience with your cartoon isn't taking what was formerly a girl's show and making it appeal to everyone, I dunno what is.

DubWolf 17,347 January 17, 2014 Share January 17, 2014 I'll admit, I like the show being girly and cheesy sometimes; I wouldn't make it more targeted for us since then it'll be like any other cartoon. MLP is special in its own ways. 3 Sig by Wolf, Handwriting by SparklingSwirls
FNGRpony 658 January 17, 2014 Share January 17, 2014 sometimes when they pander it works. when it doesn't well, people act like it's extra wrong. the show is always gonna be hit and miss. everything is a opportunity that can work or not. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvTYhrZUgYY flight to the finish. i continue to improve,
Moonlight 7,288 January 17, 2014 Share January 17, 2014 Everyone of all ages and genders seem to enjoy the show, so I don't really see the point of "adapting" the show for bronies (the people who watch it because of how it's made currently) or "everyone else", which is just mostly any age or any gender. I think they're doing a pretty good job at appealing to everyone so far. matching setups with my bff pathfinder

I don't see the problem. Bronies like the show the way it is (mostly). Also, Hasbro makes more money off the little girls than the bronies. Just sayin'... hawkflame 3,310 January 17, 2014 Share January 17, 2014 The moment they let the Brony fandom run the show is the moment I'm out the door. Why are people trying to fix something that isn't broken? Envy 6,191 January 17, 2014 Share January 17, 2014 How does it not already have universal appeal? Seriously, I think that "Bronies" need to take a step back and realize that this is not their show. First and foremost it is a show for young girls - per Lauren Faust - to show them that there are many different ways to be a girl and that none of them are wrong. You are perfectly free to watch it, and I will defend the Bronies right to watch it. But it isn't your show, and it doesn't need to change for you. (Sorry... To put this post in context, it is more spawned by the nonsense that the show is 'sexist' against men, than it is this topic at hand). 2 Everything needs more woodwind! Revertz 159 January 17, 2014 Share January 17, 2014 I really hope they don't change the show given i didn't really read what question you were asking so i hope i'm not too off track with this but i've been apart of many fandoms ones mainly of anime and the one thing i learned is 90% of them are assholes and i don't want the brony fandom full of them because honestly the brony fandom is one of few that except everyone into it like a family compared to people of the narutard fandom
OG Blaze 269 January 17, 2014 Author Share January 17, 2014 I agree with the fact that yeah everyone here is pretty accepting and welcoming. I was once part of an Attack on Titan fandom and everyone there were complete dicks and if you didn't complete the season and watch every episode you were treated like crap.
