Don't know about the other person but It is my observation that they won't give her a song or they would have done it by now. When I heard Rainbow Dash speak about ponies "bursting into song" randomly, I thought it was meant to falsely tease the viewer into thinking she would sing but then when Rarity butts in out of nowhere, it is meant to symbolize the fact that RD will always be overshadowed. Just a thought.

... That's a depressing thought. Or at least for me!

It's not bad. I like it, but it's far from my favorite. Definitely catchy, however.

You know, now that you mention it, I think Apples to the Core is the best song of Season 4 so far. 

 

 

 

I love the song and it keeps getting stuck in my head but for some reason it reminds me of Alvin and the chipmunks singing. Is it just me?

 

I didn't really notice that myself but maybe I should try listening again?  I'm a big Chipmunks fan, btw.

It's just something about it, I can hear the high pitched ish voices of the chipmunks in the song when I listen to it.

After listening to the song again, I didn't see that much of a resemblance to chipmunk voices. But I think it would lend itself VERY well to a Chipmunks cover.    That's highly unlikely but a skilled sound editor can do a quality pitch change job.  I checked and somebody already went ahead and did a simple speed up:

Glass of Water

Bats

Hearts

Generosity

Apples

It's a good song, I think the final version could have been mixed a little better though, and the animation for it in the episode Pinkie Apple Pie could have been less... literal.

Overall I think this is how I would rate the songs in season 4 so far:

interesting how we actually think the total opposite, I actually liked the fact that the song 'choreograpy' was totally literal, for some reason it gave life the to word 'journey'. While Discord's song was more suitable for being literal, actually I didn't like that one as much as I liked apples to the core.
