I like to apologize for before. I was being preety objective when my own OCs arent exactly standard themselves. I know it must be rough having people complain about your OC, but the DM himself stated that there were problems with the OC. If you can convince him to allow your character to be an alicorn, I dont have a problem with it. I hope you might consider staying on. People came off as abit rude, but I feel they might just have been worried about the RP getting slowed to start by this issue. I, atleast, personally apologize. For what that's worth.

I don't even see why they need to say anything about the OC it's yours to make however you want it's not anyone decision to tell you what it has to be or what it needs to be. If it was their OC then they can do whatever the hell they want with it but it's not it is you OC so you have control of what your OC needs to be or what you want it to be.

Exactly, I am. Personally, I'd really prefer if you'd alter her backstory for her to be a pegasus. Reasons:

 

1: she is royalty by blood. It doesn't matter that she eventually didn't become a princess, she could've been one... She's too constricted with canon characters of great importance (the 3 other princesses) to make sense.

 

2: there is no obvious reason in her character for her to be an alicorn. She'd be exactly the same if she were a pegasus. There has been no character development in you backstory around the idea that she is an alicorn, and she basically never used her horn anyway, nor has she ever been confrontee with the fact that she had one. Now that it is broken, it is a mere attention grabber.

 

3: I honestly really like your character, and I think she'd be way better off in ANY rp without being an alicorn. First of all you wont get the problem perfectly displayed here, with everyone hating on the fact that you are an alicorn. Second, she won't be above anyone else, which improves the ease of character communication and interaction. Third, it would make her simpler without having a netative impact on her personality, which is good, since you want the interesting stuff to happen to your OC WITHIN the RP, not its backstory. You shouldn't have some epic backstory dictate what your character is like, because what happens in the actual RP will develop and change your character if you start off simple, as an empty canvas.

 

I don't know Cinderscribes idea on this, but last time he agreed with me on this, so I'm going to have to ask you to PLEASE change your oc to a pegasus, since I really woukd like to have you as a pegasus :c

I found an easy way to find out if you've inspired someone. If their eyes are shining, you know you're doing it!

So you are telling me to change her to pegasus and make the backstory "She lived in Phillydelphia, and now she lives in Ponyville" ? 

 

We might as well just SAY she is pegasus for the sake of this, and give her no backstory. If it wont add onto the RP, why should it exist?

I don't particularly want to make any enemies, or watch the chaos unfold (as much fun as it may be sometimes). If it was exactly as PWD says, keep the OC and it's backstory the same, but fill in the details of what race it is and where it is on the rp itself. At least I think that's what it meant...

Yes, that's what i meant. The backstory won't affect the RP, so there is no point in modifying it. I'm content with changing her to Pegasus for the remainder of the rp. Of course it doesn't make any sense considering she is already functionally Pegasus... 

 

So literally the only thing changing is what we call her. Essentially.

No, you're quite correct - and while Scribblegroove summed up my own opinions fairly well, this is a fair point.

 

I really do appreciate folks trying to help out, but as sporadic as my posting is, me and Scribble are here as DM's to deal with issues such as this. I might be slow sometimes, but thats what I'm here for.

Hey there Cinderscribe! This roleplay looked very interesting to me and I especially like the whole premise with the romance cliche avoiding. I figured one of the best types of characters to make this definitely work- at least for me- is a very socially awkward character! So here's Dawnblink! Just a note, the only magic he'll be having in this roleplay is the teleportation magic, just cuz that's sort of his talent.

Awe,too bad! I suppose it's for the best, but still, I was so looking forward to it!

 

As a side note, does anyone have an opinion on having Nassir speak in rhyme? While It might make him more unique, I might find it more of a burden than anything, and I could see it easily becoming tedious and boring for both me and the rest of you. I could easily come up with a role play reason for why he would or wouldn't, but id like other's opinions on what you all think I should do.

I played Zecora in a RP before - its a pain. Completely up to you, it looks really impressive and its a load of fun but I kept finding myself making really weak ryhmes that only half made sense. Ended up wishing she could talk normally very quickly. :P

No, that's not what I said, and if you have even the slighteat bit of creativity (which I know you have, since you made this OC which is still very good) you only have to alter a few little things to make it a beautiful backstory withou her being an alicorn... Do I have to write it for you? I'd be happy to, really!

I would like to request that I have my unicorn Mythos to be removed and my pegasus Stardream added so we get closer to having an equal number of mares and stallions.
