Someone startles you. Your reaction?

I always lash out with fists or feet. Combat is my first reaction to almost everything, especially being startled. It's a built-in reaction.

What's your reaction when you're startled? Mine is to jump, then roll my eyes to myself and continue on with my life.

Same. I don't usually make any noise.

I usually jolt and that often results in a highly increased heart rate for a short amount of time. I think my body goes into a fight or flight response and me no likey.

I always find myself yelling "JESUS FUCKING CHRIST" whenever someone startles me.

I rarely get physical, but I did once accidentally punched my uncle in the stomach. It's pretty funny looking back at it now

Depends. I could either give a little jolt or just look surprise with my heart rate rising a bit. If it was like a jump scare, I would go something like “agah!!”
