Scenes you hated

Mywas

Recommended Posts

- The scene in Winter Wrap Up where Applejack made Twilight cry for getting the job done quickly and more effeciently..... This is the main reason I hate AJ so much

- The scene in Magic Duel where Trixie pretty much terrorized Ponyville for no goddamn reason. C'mon, they did nothing to ya, you crazy bitch!

- The scene in A Canterlot Wedding where everyone gets mad at Twilight and leaves her. It's just so deppressing to see her best friends, her brother and Celestia just put her down like that :'(

- And finally, my most hated scene.... THE OPENING OF EVERY EPISODE. No, seriously, I hate that fucking opening. I just find it embarassing

Aaaaaaannnnd it's with this post I realize most "hated" characters on the show are hated on because they made another character cry or breakdown it some point in the series even if it was (and usually is) inadvertantly.

Fluttershy is often cited as being hated because of 'Putting Your Hoof Down' (wasn't herself)

Rarity is usually hated because of 'Sonic Rainboom' (inadvertant, because she was caught up in the attention)

Pinkie is still under fire for 'Filli Vanilli' (inadvertant, she can't read social cues well)

And now AJ for this (inadvertant, Twi blames herself NOT AJ, and AJ's stubbornness was in full force)

GOOD CHARACTERS MAKE MISTAKES, BECAUSE THEY HAVE FLAWS!!!! IF NOT THEY ARE AT THE VERY LEAST CHALLENGED BY THE WORLD AROUND THEM!!!

Not in order:

  1. Pinkie Pie's scenes in Filly Vanill. She can get away with her bad behavior in the beginning, but when you knowingly repeat the same thing, it turns her into an idiot. It doesn't matter if she was in character or not. What she did was wrong and made her look unlikeable for the wrong reasons.
  2. Rainbow Dash rolling out in a wheelchair in the beginning of RF's third act. Firstly, Dash's plan is see-through. Secondly, no one's this unbelievably stupid to fall for it.
  3. When Pinkie and the CMC are about to crash. "VEGGIE SALAD!" Seriously, Pinkie? <_<
  4. The Sugarcube Corner scene in Mare-Do-Well for nullifying the entire episode and its poorly executed moral.
  5. The edited scene in "The Last Roundup." It has some of the worst voice acting in the show. On top of it, the censorship sends a message that people with disabilities don't and shouldn't coexist in society. It's extremely offensive, and I refuse to watch TLR on NetFlix or TV.
  6. The ending of Hearts & Hooves Day. The CMC are already sorry for screwing up. Rubbing salt in the world is very mean-spirited and is very out of character of Cheerilee, Big Mac, and the entire show.

-Pinkie Pie's behavior in Filli Vanilli as she was acting out of the character for the sake of making her a villain.

-The entire episode of Rainbow Falls was a big train wreck proceeding to hit another train wreck, then it explodes in a blazing inferno at the end, all because the train conductors slept like lazy asses.

-Her friends known formerly as the sidekick 5 and Princess Celestia chose Cadence/Chrysalis over Twilight, and the ridiculous amount of plot armor Queen Chrysalis had to protect her from a sun goddess and the amount of mistakes she made throughout the whole Canterlot wedding episode.

-The Sugarcube corner scene in MMDW. I thought Rainbow Dash being flanderized as an asshole was bad, but what her friends did to her throughout the episode earned my hate even more.

- The new fluttershy outdoing her corrupted version in who is the meanest version of Fluttershy through out the entire episode, and Iron will getting punished despite it totally Fluttershy's doing.

Basically every scene in Filli Vanilli that involved Pinkie basically insulting Fluttershy, or dogging her to tears. I think Pinkie was really out of character in the episode! D:

I know I am going to cop a lot of heat for this, but if there is one scene out of the four seasons of the show that I hate with a burning passion is simply put in a few words....Power Ponies and Flutterhulk.

Those two things really, really get me going in anger and it still does today.

I'll let this excerpt from my episode entry on my blog sum it up:

"I have seen Fluttershy grow and evolve into a character that I still love and consider my favourite ever since I discovered the show back in 2011. I know about Flutters traits as a quiet and shy pony from the first episode that I watched back then. Putting Your Hoof Down was a different kettle of fish to this episode was we saw a different side of her building up her self confidence, which in turn thanks to Iron Will made Fluttershy overconfident and show her aggressive nature and as a result she hurt her friends feelings and this was a wake up call for Flutters.

Future episodes would have some of those self confidence traits, but when it came to this episode and to the part where she hulked up, I couldn't watch it and seeing her in battle mode made me cringe like anything. I often ask why they did this. It was not necessary.

Yes I know it's a reference to a classic superhero franchise, but I don't like seeing Fluttershy in that manner. It breaks my heart to see that happen and I don't want to see it happen again. Ever."

Sorry doesn't always make things better. They nearly made Cheerilee and Big Mac be married against their will and there were money damages to the town. The CMC really needed a punishment so they can be sure to remember the lesson they learned. It wasn't out of character, just some tough love.

One third of Hearts and Hooves Day.

Watching Cheerilee and Big Mac gush over each other like that for ten straight minutes was just painful to watch.

That's not a good excuse at all. The CMC didn't want them to be married against their will. They created the potion in order for the two to get along and have a happy Valentine's Day. When it was revealed to be a poison, they worked to keep them separated as long as possible. Working on Mac's chores was fine, but the very final scene wasn't "tough love." They toyed with the fillies' already remorseful, hurt emotions. The last thing any responsible adult should do to a kid is rub salt in the wound.

What Mac and Cheerilee did wasn't cute. It certainly wasn't funny. It was cruel, borderline abusive, stupid, and out of character.

I don't like the following scenes:

- "Tell your parents about your bad attitude," in 'One Bad Apple'

- Who vs. Hoo in 'Owl's Well That Ends Well'

- "You scooped Soarin' outta the sky, and now? Now he's okay..." in 'Rainbow [Redundancy] Falls'

- Pinkie eats MMM in 'MMMystery On the Friendship Express' (made everything feel pointless)

- Snips & Snails in 'Boast Busters' and 'The Mysterious Mare Do-Well' (I actually don't hate Snips & Snails, but holy shit they were annoying in these two episodes).

I decided to rewatch the ending, because I wondered if had I missed something. The final scene you mean is when they decide to go out at a picnic in the gazebo, right? Where Cheerilee and Big Mac playfully call each other pet names in front of the CMC? I don't think it was cruel and definitely not borderline abusive- it seemed, although a bit stupid, just like a bit of teasing. The CMC were remorseful, granted, but hurt? They didn't seem hurt in any way when Appleboom even smiles and ask how Cheerlie and Big Mac are doing.

Anyway, it seemed more like when two parents call each other 'cute' names and their kids get all grossed out. I think that's what the ending was trying to convey. But! If that's your opinion, it's completely okay to think that.

I'll give you my top 10

10.The other ponies abandoning pinkie in "pinkie pride" - yeah other people have brought this up...it was very uncomfortable to watch and was very disheartening...but then I remembered "rainbow has always been a bit insensitive sometimes" and that kinda made things more believeable. That and the fact that we all have been impressed by someone new at one point, and we sometimes accidentally neglect others without intending to. This is pretty low on my list, because it has a good explanation to it, and the rest of the episode was fantastic!

9.The ending scene in magical mystery cure : My main complaint here, is that twilight got her wings and at the end of this episode becomes a great flyer! Then we cut to "princess twilight sparkle" and "Equestria girls" and suddenly, she lost her flying skills...it's more of a lack of continuity that bugs me about that scene.

8.Flash Sentry in "Three's a crowd" : you lied to us meghan...we'll remember this. (it's not that big of a deal...but still...)

7.Fluttershy going off on Rarity and Pinkie : That scene went a bit too far...like, I don't really need to say anything much more than that...

6.The plant monster from "Three's a crowd" : That thing...was terrifying. And sooooooo out of place. Like for real, I remember watching that episode and going DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG! Like, I felt that scene was trying too hard to say, "I'm not just a show for little girls!" which really made it feel uncomfortable.

5.The cutie mark crusaders song for the talent show : That's an obvious one...just because it was so hard to watch...plus the ending of that episode basically spoiled the whole "freedom to be who you want to be" thing, by obviously exposing what their cutie marks will be!

4.Stop the Bats! : The song...I love the song...but it's so out of character for all these friends to gang up on fluttershy and act so close minded. Especially twilight, who just became a princess! She should have been a bit more mature there eh?

3.All the cliffhangers so far : Who was that shadow figure at the end of Castle-Mania? what's up with fluttershy's bat-tooth? is pinkie pie really an apple? all these loopholes and more need to be tied up, and I honestly don't think they can do it by the end of the season without rushing it...it's just too much! So now everytime I see one of these scenes, I get a little frustrated, because I feel as though it's something we'll never know! All that may change however, depending if they can make it work or not...So we'll see...

2.Duckfaces : WHY ON EARTH...did they need to put those in there? I would understand if it was a "popularized" and "prissy" pony...but pinkie pie?...applejack?...scootaloo? it's already annoying in real life...I don't want to see my ponies doing it too :(

1.Daring Dont (The whole episode) : This was one of the worst episodes in the show's history...there were so many out of character moments, so many plot holes, everything was a majour mess...it ranks up there with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3...it doesn't exist.

The scene in all of MLP that irked me the most is in the second episode.

The scene where Applejack tells Twilight to let go and she will be safe.

It's super cheesy, forced and illogical. Whats the point of letting go at all? they could just grab her where she was hanging ><

Also why couldn't Applejack just tell Twilight that they would catch her? No need for blind trust.

This scene almost made me give up on MLP. I was just starting out, and in the second episode, this scene comes along.

Although I love the episode, I disliked the scene in Sisterhooves where AJ has to explain 'giving in' to Rarity.

Since half of Rarity's episode in S1 were about her giving in.

I could understand if it was reminding Rarity but it did not feel that way.

It's sort of lampshaded by having Rarity think of the plan but...

It should have been Rarity who realized how wrong she was and AJ who thought of the plan imo.

I think that you are taking that scene way too seriously than the writers did. It wasn't meant to be a serious scene, It was just meant to be a comic relief scene. The CMC freaking out wasn't meant to be taken seriously.

Also why are you saying that just because you didn't find it funny no one else can?

There's a time and place to joke with kids. The Cutie Mark Crusaders underwent a major tailspin and mustered so much to break the spell. At the end, the CMCs thought the poison didn't wear out, but Mac and 'Lee were joking at the fillies' expense. You never joke like that to a kid.

Again, just because it's "comedy" doesn't means it's funny.

Didn't any adult relative of yours try to playfully scare you when you were a kid? I remember when I was a kid My Uncle put a toy snake next to me when I was asleep, I woke up, saw the snake and it scared the hell out of me. But did it make me hate him or gave me mental Issue's? Nope. Heck I laugh about it when I remember it.

In no particular order...

- The third act of "Ponyville Confidential" in which every adult in town alienates little girls and makes them feel hated is just downright mean and immensely hard to watch, especially when you consider that it was the adults who demanded the gossip in the first place and that the CMC were being blackmailed into continuing even after they wanted to stop. It takes an episode was just meh and turned it into one of my most hated episodes.

- Scumbag Zecora taking Spike's gem in "Just for Sidekicks". Or maybe Spike being denied his cake. Take your pick.

- Fluttershy trying to abandon her friends and run away in "Magic Duel".

- The reveal that the Wonderbolts tried to replace Soarin and indirectly sabotage Ponyville's team in "Rainbow Falls". It doesn't make any sense within the episode, and this one little moment not only makes "Wonderbolt Academy" weaker, but it makes Dash's series-long goal seem pointless. What the literal hell.

- Twilight's insurance that it's okay to show off as long as you know for sure that you are the best (?!) in "Boast Busters".

- Twilight's family, friends and mentor making her feel like crap in "A Canterlot Wedding". I get it, they're disappointed, but Jesus, way to lay it on thick.

- Pinkie Pie rubbing it in Dash's face that she didn't get any cider in "Super Squeezy Who Gives a Crap". In fact, that whole gag was just a bust.

- Just to be clear, I actually hate the majority of "Super Squeezy Who Gives a Crap", but the one moment that stands out to me is AJ's immensely arrogant insistence that she didn't learn anything after almost losing her family's farm and flat out losing the loyalty of the town because of their arcane business practices. This is something you see in Family Guy.

Wow, that was negative. Is there a "Best Scenes" thread around here?

the scene where the town ditches pinkie pie in pinkie's pride. Yes i've heard why from tommy oliver and i agree, it makes sense. my brain is fine with that. my feels are not okay with it lol.
I know what you mean. It's the one part in an otherwise fantastic episode that feels a bit iffy. It's especially weird when you consider that Pinkie's friends at this point know what happens to Pinkie when she feels abandoned/alone. Edited by CITRUS KING46

Can you please elaborate on how anyone was OoC in Daring Don't?

Well my biggest gripe to start out with, was the fact that this is the mane 6 that we're talking about...they've battled discord, chrysalis, sombra, nightmare moon, etc. but here we see Daring Do get attacked, and what do they do? they just stand there and let her fend for herself! I mean, c'mon! No help whatsoever? And twilights an alicorn princess, the most powerful type of pony there is!...and yet?...nothing...

Not only that...but Rainbow went waaaaaaaaaay overboard on this one. I mean for Celestia's sake...she didn't even freak out about the wonderbolts as much as Yearling! And this was after only one episode where Dash reads a book and enjoys it? I mean come on now...also in reference to the first thing I mentioned, why is Daring such a special deal anyway? I mean, I have nothing against her...but they're treating her like Celestia in this episode...even though they've easily surpassed her abilities!

I dunno...I just feel as though the episode could have been executed waaaaay better, or just shouldn't have been done...but then again, that's only my opinion, and others are free to disagree as they might.
