Huh, interesting question. Don't entirely know the answer to this, but if I did have a boyfriend/girlfriend, I think I'd prefer to have it slowly done. As in they find a way to slowly make me lose interest in them over time and then they just flat-out dump me at the right time and then we just be friends (or not).
