gaming Pokemon for DS

Get a 3DS and buy any DS pokemon version. I'm personally a huge fan of pokemon Diamon/Pearl/Platinum C:

The reason I say 3DS is because Nintendo is cancelling all wi-fi game play for the DS, DSlite, DSi, and Wii systems. The ONLY way you can do any sort of online trading will be through the 3DS. It's crap, but it's happening/already happened, I don't remember

But yeah! O:

I'm biased for Pokémon black version since it was my first game, but it depends what you want in a Pokémon game. If you want to walk with your Pokémon, I would try Pokémon heartgold or soulsilver. If you want a great game that's closest to the newest one out, I would go with black or white version one. (IF You like that one you can try two.) Of course if you want the classics try diamond or pearl. If you want the newest out (you'll need a 3ds for that) then try pokemon x version. I liked them all except maybe diamond because it was a bit harder for me but they are great games for the ds system.

Man, I forgot that was happening. Tinker tunes is right. Pokémon x/y is a great game anyways. And yeah they are cancelling the wifi for it which sucks for me!! But I have pokemon x/y and I love it!

Heart Gold and Soul Silver were amazing   I forgot about them, really! Re-done of Gen.2 was perfect. If you buy a brand new copy, you also get a PokéWalker device that is a step counter so you can bring a pokemon with you EVERYWHERE. O____O <3

It's also the most accurate step counter out there... which surprised me, considering the amount of step counters you can buy that are specifically sports related XD

Like tinker tunes is right again. When I bought soulsilver I didn't realize it was a remake or I could walk with my pokemon (in game and outside the game) and it soooo cool. I just happen to be playing it and typhlosion is sooo cute when you walk with him in game.

Yeah, I don't have a 2ds, but sounds great. It is cheaper than the 3ds, and I had to save up for months just to get one. It is purple! OH THE PRETTY PURPLE! Purple is my favorite color!!!!!!!!! Yep, so off topic here. So if you do get a 2ds, I recommend pokemon x/y version, which ever you choose( they are both pretty much the same except the legendarys.) It's such a great game. It's like every version combined in one! See it has songs from the old games, old pokemon from the old games plus new pokemon!

I have a purple 3DS :D I also love purple XD omg it's the best

Also... I guess the only thing I personally don't like about the 2DS is that you can't fold it closed D: That's why I never bought one (also because I'm trying to save up for a PS4 XD) And that it's not 3D o3o I'm kind of hooked on the 3D aspect XD

However, I've never played on a 2DS so I can't say with 100% conviction it's a bad system O: it's probably a fantastic system! I'm just too used to being able to close my DS system XD

The last time I had a hand-held I couldn't close, it was a Gameboy Advanced XD;;

Most of them are really well done, I'd suggest getting whichever one catches your eye, none of them will disappoint.

However, some of them are better than others at certain aspects.

Black/White to me had by far the best storyline of all the games, usually we get the same repetitive "Beat the Champion, fight the evil team on the side," but this time everything feels so much more refined and I felt as if my character was part of something bigger.

Black 2/White 2 had a good solid storyline (not as good as B/W1) but where I felt it really shined was it's music. Almost all of it was very different from the usual Pokemon soundtracks yet most of the themes managed to fit the situations perfectly.

Heart Gold/Soul Silver are both great games, especially if you want to get a more classic Pokemon feel with a new twist.

In all honesty, I can see why Diamond/Pearl/Platinum appealed to some people, but I could just never get into that generation for some reason.

And then, there's X/Y, provided you have a 3DS handy this game is definitely worth considering, solid storyline, good music, takes on a very balanced or "Jack of all trades," role, not the best at anything (par the graphics) but still amazing in pretty much every way/

Heard the exquisite lies and thoughts of an unknowable population? No Slaaneshi pleasure I have indulged in comes close to that feeling, only in the embrace of Apotheosis could one aspire to find anything greater."

On the DS? I'd say my favorite was HeartGold or SoulSilver, although Platinum was a runner up.

I didn't like Unova. :I

I would suggest Soul Silver/Heart Gold or Black/White. Those are the more recent ones for the DS and they are very fun. If you want older ones though then I would say Diamond/Pearl or Platinum. :)

The best for the original DS? I would have to say heart gold or soul silver. It's generation 4, but they did an amazing job with the remake. It has a fantastic post game, much better than what I could say about black/white or black2/white2. I never did like the battle subway... pwt had potential, but it just felt like it was missing something.

Well there is Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. There is Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver and Pokemon Black and White or there squeals. I actually kind of recommend the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series too since it's got a great story.

For me it's a tie between Platinum and Soul Silver. They were both amazing games, although I may be a little biased since I haven't played Black, White, Black 2, White 2, X or Y yet. Although still none of those seem better than those two.

I think I might Platinum just a little more. Just a tiny bit.

HeartGold/SoulSilver are probably the largest DS Pokémon games content wise, so go for one of those if you want the longest game. Platinum is somewhat more challenging and has a lot of legendaries, not to mention the awesome Distortion World dungeon, so that could be great too. Black/White and Black 2/White 2 have a great story in between them though and introduced tons of great new Pokémon, so they are definitely worth it as well. The only ones that aren't really worth it are Diamond/Pearl- Platinum just severely outclasses them, as it's pretty much the same game but better.

As for X/Y and getting a 3DS... I would play the DS ones first, they're kinda hard to go back to after X/Y imo but still great. ;)

Soul Silver hands down....I didn't really get into the Diamond/Pearl/Platinum generation too well....

Silver was my favorite Gameboy game before Crystal came out....so seeing it revamped awesomely is awesome sauce in my book

I don't really trade that much, but I'm not gunna lie; I have been interested in getting a 2DS. My problem is that it costsa lot for a system I may only use for 1 game or so.

Trust me, you'll use it for way more than 1 game. I highly suggest Kirby's Adventure 3D and Retro City Rampage along with my favorite DS pokemon game, Pokemon Platinum
