Can Anyone from DBZ or Mortal Kombat Actually Defeat Discord?

I have had some conversations with some bronies outside of the forum and reviewed other forums that ask a similar question but don't really give a concrete answer.

 

Despite there being super powerful beings in both Mortal Kombat or DBZ apparently cannon Discord from mlp can beat all of them as he is considered to be "god like" since he is based on Q from Star Trek

 

Many people say Discord can take on multiple beings as with the snap of his finger he can turn them into anything he please and a popular meme is that discord can do "freaking anything"

 

Also Discord can make their powers nonexistent and even turn them into cats for the lulz according to some.

 

For me I really dont know about this surely somebody from DBZ or Mortal Kombat could take on Discord and defeat him.

 

But I would like to hear your take on who can beat Discord and if not is there anything that could stop him besides the use of the elements.

 

Keep in mind we are talking about cannon Discord not an overpowered one.

 

Can Discord really take on anyone from these two universes despite MLP never even coming close to experiencing the stuff DBZ and Mortal Kombat has showed such as planet destruction, Death and other stuff MLP will probably never show except in uncannon fan made work?

No, no one from mortal Kombat or DBZ can beat discord except for possibly whiss. As long as he can snap his fingers they're whatever he wants them to be.

 

He can beat them tons of ways: take away their powers, turn them into something harmless, shrink them, discord them, ect. He'd be insanely OP in an action oriented universe like DBZ, because most power comes from raw strength and not reality altering magic.

BTW, just want to let you all known, Discord, the character itself derives from the Greek Goddess Eris or Discordia.  She is in fact the goddess of Chaos which you could say share similarities to Discord.  Her opposite is Harmonia, in which she defeated her, and in MLP's case, Element of Harmony defeated Discord, obviously.

I concur. Most of the Greek Gods (Protectors and War-Like)  would have a good chance of defeating him.   I was also thinking of Ares.

One does not simply defeat a reality warper. In most fiction that involves them, they have to be defeated by playing on their pride (which is how they beat Discord in Return of Harmony) or some stupid deus ex machina pulled out of the writers ass (like they were never really a reality warper in the first place. What a twist! )

 

So it would take somebody intelligent enough to know how to play on his pride, quick-witted enough to do it, powerful enough to beat him in the few seconds opportunity they would get, and also not cocky about having that much power (which would be a lot) to the point where they just try to bum rush Discord and get turned into a clock radio or something.

 

The not cocky thing is a big one, as most characters who are intelligent, quick witted, and powerful are also cocky as hell about it.

Reality warping can be beaten when your magic is too weak to do anything to a person's inherent reality. Granzeboma can't reality warp yet he can casually crush the universe at a whim, something Discord has no chance of surviving

You see, that's the flaw with reality bending characters, is that only other reality bending characters can beat them! Now, you could argue that if Discord's actual power level is lower than the Z fighters then maybe the Z fighters aura will help to negate some of the effects of Discords magic, but it's just SO hard to compare reality benders to brute strength type characters.

I just think that that power levels in DBZ are so ridiculously massive, that the aura produced by the more powerful characters might actually be a enough to negate Discords magic, similar to what you said in an earlier post...

Except Babidi, who's weak as Hell, was capable of stopping Buu's attack with a shield and controlling Vegeta. Kaioshin was also really weak but he restrained SSJ2 Gohan

There are some people that say Discord can never be beaten. Also some have said people like Picculo would not stand a chance since "reality warping" is not magic and more of a force in Star Trek since that is what he is based on. Moreover, they go on to explain that Discord would have still ruled if it were not for the Elements of Harmony and the Alicorns would not stand a chance. Some bronies even joked the best time for Discord to take over eqestria is now since the elements of harmony have disappeared.

 

So if this is the case I would add Janemba to the mix as he is too a reality warper. But thats just my opinion.

It would have to be someone who is intelligent, has a strategy for everything that Discord does, and very light on their feet. If they are able to execute their actions very well, then we will see how they do.

Yep he can defiantly defeat Discord, I do like Bills as well.

 

If It were to be MK I would think Shang Tsung, and Kratos from God of War if you count the PS3 version would have a chance.

 

Kratos has defeated multiple Gods including Zeus so I would think he has a chance.

 

Also with Shoa Kahn defiantly has a chance, since has consumed billions of souls and is capable of fusing with gods and deities. If he got his hands on Discord's soul, it would be game over. Shao Kahn's 10,000 years of experience and his brutal tenacity woud also have an advantage against Discord. Shao Kahn's the "was" a ruler of 9 dimensions before Raiden killed him at the end of MK9.

 

I also would think Ermac may have a chance. He has the power of multiple beings in one and also has some powerful magic.
