Figures... Well... Shame me and you gonna be the only ones free. All the others that are free have quit or havent posted. Research team is far smaller than the entry post shows. Dont know if you should have a post for reinforcements...

Tho if somepony else joins up as research team members, they'd have to retcon themselves as having missed the first train, and catching an later one or one the next day.

@, Could work... well, unless he meets up with Scribblegroove's mare character. :P

I could maybe bring in another character as well who could catch the train with yours; as I said, they missed the train. XD Also, any plot ideas you have, feel free to share in the PM.

I think if Lykos had a small dose he would have a really bad experience that would make him hate that plant. Ultimately he and Artemis would decide to say "To Tartarus with your research!" and decide to burn every and any Equibane they encountered because it threatens the natural balance.

@@Pripyat Pony,

Did we ever decide what happened to the denizens of the ghost town the researchers arrived at? Perhaps Artemis and Glory (and whoever else got away) could be found by/could find descendants of the townsponies, who have become a sort of tribal group like the Ferals, but unlike them haven't partaken in the Equibane? So, they would still be 'normal' like the research team?

@@00Pony, Glory had a vision which showed her their fate; some were taken prisoner (and in all likelihood ended up eating the Equibane and becoming part of the feral tribe), some were killed but others escaped into the Badlands. So yes, they could be living a hard life on the outskirts of the forest, and they could well help Glory and Artemis. And yes, they would be normal cuz they wouldn't eat the Equibane after what happened to their ancestors re the ferals who did eat it.

@@Pripyat Pony,

Alright. So, if needed I can try and hopefully maybe make a character (or two or three) for that faction as necessary.

@@00Pony, Yep, go for it. :)

I doubt also that they would be very well fed; it would be dangerous to go into the forest too often so they'd end up making do with what they could scavenge in the Badlands.

@@Pripyat Pony,

Excellent. I'll try and get around to doing that at some point soon. One character I had in mind would be able to help with any water shortage, though food might be tougher.

Perhaps they would have ended up resorting to consuming meat? I'm not saying cannibalism, but any sort of smaller (or occasionally bigger) critter they could find and bag in the badlands? I mainly say this because in the Fallout Equestria stories meat is consumed in the wasteland, and that's kinda what I imagine the badlands are.

@@00Pony, Like lizards, birds, small rodents? I'd imagine that animals like that would live in the badlands. But I don't see ponies being able to bring down large animals; then again, it's unlikely that any would live there. XD

It's not unusual, pigs hunt down small animals as do certain deer.

@, I am aware; however, I doubt that the badlands would support large animals. xD And pigs will eat anything... there have even been murders where the body was fed to pigs. O_o

And on that note... going to bed. :P

@@Pripyat Pony,

Birds and small rodents predominantly, but yeah. As for larger creatures, it may be unlikely that any would live out there, but then again, who knows? Perhaps creatures like Manticores may have wandered out so far or something. It'd probably take the just about the whole tribe to take just one of them down though. And depending on the vegetation, a few quick, brave and sneaky souls could try and harvest some food for the outskirts of the forest while trying to avoid the Feral's attention, perhaps?

Camels and dragons would be fine out there, so would parasprites and the like. The Chimera could survive in a fire swamp, the wasteland would be easy

@,

Dragons would make sense, assuming they are capable of going long stretches of time without a meal, which seems likely given their long slumbers.

Camels perhaps, though I doubt either of these would be an option of a meal, as dragons would be nigh un-killable by the Tribals, and I assume camels would be sentient like donkeys are shown to be.

That's another thing about a Chimera. My imagining of 'cannibalism' in this universe extends to consuming anything sentient, like Ponies, zebras, griffins and the like. Basically anything that has been shown as speaking, like the Chimera was. So while they may exist out here, eating them might be questionable.

@@00Pony,

Dragons could just eat gems as well and can survive the heat of a volcano, they'll be fine. Considering Angel is sentient but the other rabbits clearly aren't, things get more complicated there

@,

This is true, but considering these Tribals will have never encountered, much less heard of Angel or any other near sentient rabbit or critter like that, they will assume they do not exist. You could also call it for sake of plot convenience that the critters out here aren't near sentient.

Little bit annoyed with you. You went and said "make sure he doesn't pull out a dagger."

Your pony should not know I have a dagger.

Same with the trail thing. Your ponies wouldn't know about the food or water loss in my bag.

Correct, but in all honesty I find it easy to believe that they would assume that the heavily armed pony is likely trying to hide more weapons. You don't need to be omniscient to guess that he would.

Easier to believe than say... being able to put on a full suit of armour that completely negates all harm (so we're talking full plate at least) - and intercept a moving target while dressed in said armour - in less than a few seconds.

I'm not bothered really, but its hypocritical to power play and then call someone else out for doing it, when expecting hidden weapons would be perfectly justifiable.
