I finally got my first strike on youtube. In the end I panicked and deleted alot of my movies since I didn’t wanna risk getting in trouble again. which also means alot of my popular vids had to be taken down too.

Ahh, I remember when my original YouTube got taken down and it took a bunch of other accounts with it. They used to allow you to use one Email for multiple accounts, soo yeah, I was dumb.

I've actually been really good on youtube. All I upload is music, so I don't have to worry, unless I make a PMV that does gather copyright attention.

Next time you upload your videos use this copyright of fair use:

1. Video is muted.

2. Click copyright under it will take you to this page about copyright.

3. Press take me to the dispute form.

4. Then when it ask you reason for dispute there are 3 options.
Click the 3rd bubble that says briefly explain.

5. Copy this in quotes into the briefly explain.

6. Write your name on the next step.

7. Finally copy and paste that signature that says good faith.

You should make sure that you're not taking credit for the movies that you upload, uploading something different without getting flagged for copyright could help.

Don't worry about it.................Youtube staff and that automatic copyright detector are such sacks of crap.  I've got a few in the past, b/c of music, yet I came back at them and told them i noted on the video that it didn't belong to me.  Goddamn Copyright bullshit is such a drag in the US, unfortunately,

 

However, like @[member=~TheMareintheMoon] mentioned......copy and paste the copyright description into the video description and soon enough, you won't get in trouble again.  If you do and you have that in your description, you can get back at them for that.

Hey, @My Little Mandy. That sucks that you got a strike on Youtube :/ I do not personally recommend taking down all of your videos in response, though. You should just read up on what their rules are, and remove anything that might break them.
 
However, I will have to lock this topic due to the fact that it is a personal update as opposed to something that could result in substantial discussion among many people. This would be better suited to a status update or a blog post.
