Since you haven't received any useful criticism, I'll give you some.

First off, if you drew this with a mouse, then I'd say it's decent, but if you were serious about drawing digitally, then this is nothing but a mere sketch that would have taken someone an hour or two to draw.

The shading on the hair could have been better but it's fine right now. The shadow below the hair is missing, as in the shadow that should be under his hair.

Lines. The lines are just way too thin. Unless that's your style of drawing, maybe you should draw a full-sized pony from top to bottom to see how it looks like.

The proportions of the pony is a bit off. Imagine if you cut that part out of a fully-drawn pony, you'll realize that the ear is extremely small compared to his face.

It's fine if it's your first drawing, but you might want to consider getting a graphics tablet and proper software to draw with. Keep practicing and you'll become a great artist one day after years of drawing.

I think it is quite good but as some constructive criticism you need a light source, there just isn't very much shading on the character, but otherwise it is an amazing piece of art.

yeah i know, but i got my reason for this.

you see I only been working on it for a week now and school has been a real pain so I had next to no spare time

working on most of those things you said

it was done by mouse and i know the lines are thin and that's not my style, all i wanted to do was to try the shading

but as you said i should have drawn a full scale and cut it of from that

thanks for the advise much appreciated

Mostly this ^

Your compassion is pretty good actually, you have a good use in positive and negative space.

Though Id also recommend adding some depth to the piece by adding contrast or rather make it look 3 demential by sculpting it out with shading in more areas.

Also, I think something that would help with the hair/mane is less blurred edges and more contrast.

will take that into my mind.

I am completely new to this sure I been an artist for a year soon but that doesn't mean i drawn anything every day and gotten much better

I did some mistakes because I forgot that the mane has a shadow as well....

I used MS paint for the most part and Photofilter 7 if anyone wonders btw

Yeah it's really cool. I really like how you did the eye, I want one now lol :P

might be able to make one for you when I'm not as busy if you'd like

feeling like i need a second round to make it better

But if you want one I am more then happy to do one (when i got time)

@@limitedsera,

I'l be honest for a pony head its seems too large the eyes and mane look good.

So i'm going to say the art looks decent.

thanks, now i know i need to work on sizing

The detail and shading are very nice, and I'm a bit jealous since I can barely draw with a tablet. >.<

I would use a proper form in my adjective and say it is decent.

It has potential, and is definitely better than most people I see.

thanks you two make me happy knowing im not a total scrub

Yeah, that's pretty good. Maybe make the outer lines a little thicker? I dunno, it makes it look a bit weird for me.

Otherwise, still good. Better than what I can make, heh.

Okay then, I'm cutting to the chase.

Your shading looks very messy and, a whole week? Something such as this should take an hour or so at most. I think you have lots of potential though, and if you keep at it, you will become a magnificent artist. I highly recommend you invest in a graphics tablet and a proper art program
