Fluttershy Stinks

I imagine that as part of caring for the animals she tries to keep them, the house and herself clean to reduce the chance of disease. If she smells, it's only because she just wrestled a bear.

I'm sure she has a system where she gets her animals to go to the bathroom outside and has them take a bath now and then.I have a friend who has a ton of pets and her house doesn't smell like a zoo. And those pets don't even bathe often (and no they are not fish).

Sure she cares for her beloved animals, but wouldn't you think that would effect the way she smells?

Even after she takes a bath I bet she'd still have a "smell".

She is a pony. All ponies from MLP smell amazing, like fresh incense. Fluttershy smells like a spring meadow, and a warm motherly hug.

The animals she tends to don't live in her cottage. Sure they may visit, but they don't LIVE there. Sure, maybe after a day she might smell, but who doesn't after a hard days work? She probably bathes regularly, not to mention the spa days she has. But she wouldn't have a smell after having a bath.

 

Also, wasn't there a topic about this exact same thing a month or so ago?

I don't think she does. She spends a lot of time around flowers too Plus she wouldn't smell as much as Applejack who spends a lot of time working in the dirt and sweating from applebucking

We had a topic regarding pony smells, but I don't believe we've had one about Fluttershy specifically, and given her unique situation with the animals, I think there's enough discussion to merit a separate thread.

 

Anyway, I'd have to agree with you. I could see that crazy cat lady from the Apple family having a weird smell because she lives with tons of cats, and well... when you live with more than a few cats, you tend to stink. I know because I used to know someone like that.

 

Fluttershy, on the other hand, only has a few animals in her house most of the time (Angel and some mice, as far as I know), and she seems to keep it clean. I'm sure she has good hygene as well, so I don't see any reason why she would stink.

I don't think she would stink really. I mean as everyone's said they don't live there they just visit. The only animal that lives there with her is Angel Bunny. Plus I'm pretty sure shes got some kind of bath or something in her cottage so even if they did live with her she still wouldn't stink because she could bathe.

Actually we have seen bird houses, mouse holes, and angel obviously lives with her. She keeps small animals around. Could possibly have more but those are what I can recollect.

Well, I think the only reason she would a daily basis would be if she didn't bathe.

 

Besides, I doubt a community like Ponyville wouldn't have some kind of shampoo that specializes in eliminating pet odors given the various array of animals ponies take care of, plus the Apple family would probably use it too given that they live and work on a farm.

That's a recurring question, I think she does, but I guess she takes a bath every day and before meeting her friends, so most of the time no.

Yea, but birds don't really smell, I've had birds before and you clean their cage out. Not to mention wild birds, like what Fluttershy has, tend to do their business "on the fly"so to speak, it's not like they crap in their bird houses. Mice, well. yea it's a hole in the wall. But in the show, they seem sentient enough to understand Fluttershy and do their business elsewhere....Then again, this is just over analyzing a cartoon.

Umm...no.

 

The animals do their business outside. Like I said, they don't live there they just visit. They have their own homes, and as wild animals they do their business in the forest or wherever...not in Fluttershy's cottage.

What makes you think all those animals in her house visit?  She goes home to feed them. Everytime I watch the show she has a house full of animals.  I  haven't seen any of them go in and out to poo.

 

Wild Animals + Living in Captivity = Zoo = Smells

 

Wild Animals + Living in Fluttershy's House = Zoolike conditions = Smells

Whaddya know. I searched on Google and I couldn't find this thread. I should have used the forum's search feature as well, but Google often gives me better results. I'll be sure to use both methods in the future.

 

Anyway, I stand by my previous post. I don't think Fluttershy would stink and her house looks clean, so I doubt that it stinks either. If anything, it might have a faint smell due to the presence animals and pet food, but I doubt that it would be any worse than a clean pet store.

I don't think she would smell very bad from taking care of the animals, unless they leave a strong, smelly stench behind.
