Star watched the unicorn as he fell down a few steps of the stairs. She gasped, her eyes wide. Suddenly, she opened her wings and flew down to him, trying to see if he was okay.

 

"Oh my Celestia! Are you alright?" Star asked, trying to help him back up the stairs and to a flatter surface to stand on.

 

"Oh no, this is my fault. I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to scare you like that. I'm so, so, so, so sorry." she kept apologizing, not really knowing what else to say.

 

"Great job, Star! You meet a nice pony, and you see him standing there, and then you scare him half to death! He could have been really hurt! You're so dumb!" she thought, trying her best to help the stallion.

 

When Steel left, Moon Beam didn't mind. She understood that he had a serious job and that he took it very seriously. She simply kept talking to the other ponies, answering their questions and telling them what they wanted to know. However, after a while, she did start to feel a bit lonely, even with the other ponies around her. She began to get a bit fidgety, and she decided to excuse herself from the group.

 

Moon Beam found an area where nopony really was, happy to be alone for a little while. However, she had a feeling that Steel would be somewhere not many ponies are, so that's where she went first.

 

Looking around, she didn't find much. One or two ponies had come along, probably trying to get away from the commotion of the gala. She simply ignored them, and continued her search. However, the ponies didn't ignore her, watching her quite intently as she walked by. There wasn't much expression in their stares, and it made Moon Beam a bit uneasy. She shrugged it off, though, and kept going.

 

After about a half an hour, she still couldn't find Steel. She was anxious, and began to sort of trot around the halls at an oddly fast pace. Finally, she couldn't keep searching, and ran to find the nearest exit. She found a balcony, and ran towards it, gaining speed quickly. Moon Beam opened her wings and jumped, flapping them quickly once she was in the air.

 

Soon, she was outside of the castle, gliding peacefully on the wind. She smiled as she flew higher and higher, watching the sky slowly float down to greet her. The wind blowing through her mane causing her to calm down, she giggled and twirled happily.

 

Finding a cloud she lighted down on it, looking down at the castle. It looked pretty small from the height she was at, and she smiled at the distance. Watching the almost invisible dots move around the castle, she realized she both wanted and needed to be back down at the gala.

 

Finally, she hopped off of the cloud, wings closed tightly by her sides. Moon closed her eyes, feeling the speed as she descended towards the Earth. She folded her forelegs to her chest and began to spin slowly, her dress flapping madly. However, the sound of the air passing by her drowned out anything else.

 

Opening her eyes, she noticed how close she was to the ground now. She waited a few moments longer, letting herself drop lower. Then, she tipped upwards slightly, opening her wings as she did so. She was yanked into the air violently, then began to glide. She flew towards the front of the castle, but didn't go in just yet.

 

"One quick fly around, then I'll go back." she thought as she smiled to herself.

"I think -ouch- I am quite alright. Ignoring a couple of bruises. " Dark Star answered while getting up.

 

Finally after everything got less blurry he managed to see who was the pony that startled him... The mare he was looking for. He felt himself loosing his voice as the feeling of awkwardness took over that shouldn't have been there. Trying to say something but stopping himself. His mind going a bit blank. Forgetting all his past troubles and focusing on what was now and what is to come.

 

Finally the stallion decided to speak after feeling a bit sorry for the mare blaming herself for the accident. He decided to try and cool down the situation. 

 

"How about you stick with bumping into me...by accident... instead of starling me when I am not looking. I would really prefer that. " He said stammering one or two times. Clearly intending that as a joke that he thought was terrible.

 

"Also, it is about as my fault as it is yours, I should have been paying attention to who was around me and where I was going. " He smiled, his horn lighting up and another white rose materializing in front of the mare. Seeing that the mare seemed to have lost the last one.

 

The stallion slowly begun to feel a bit more confident about himself.

 

"What was that you were saying before I almost killed myself?" He asked of pure curiosity. Remember that she was saying something before he jumped and fell down the stairs.

Steel sighed he wasn't much for large crowds and and he didn't think he'd find moonbeam by wondering the balls he sighed again lumping off of a balcony he kept his wings folded gaining speed as he feel to the earth once he got neigh speed he opened his wings and tilted so he went into a head left turn he also went up as he turned so he spiraled into the air the moonlight hitting his ornate dagger causing it to look like fire in the air but only small glints of it where he was flying moonbeam could see the glints he took a deep breath and flying higher and higher till he couldn't even see the ponies below him he nabbed a cloud and settled on it he watched the horizon then had an idea he flew the cloud low and once above a group of ponies he kicked it causing lightning to flash then he was gone thanks to some cleverness and speed he smirked at the reactions one of whom was from moonbeam even though he hadn't noticed yet he almost laughed but he didn't because he doesn't laugh he's to serious

As the last bite of the delicious apple pie went down to his stomach. He happily patted his lips with a napkin he hovered from his suit's chest pocket with his magic and as soon as he turned back towards the garden grounds to join in with his friends, his left eyebrow raised up in surprise as the only person he could see standing next to the Applejack's food cart, was doctor Volt. He walked calmly towards the blue pegasus engineer, while looking from side to side to see wherever the others might have gone.

 

Doctor Volt? Where did both miss Bliss and that Roac fellow went? He asked curiously, while still looking around the grounds for their whereabouts. He sighed and turned to look at him. I guess they went on a tour around the gardens or something, but anyways, Volty, the night is still young and since it's just the two of us now, care to join me to go look around the palace a bit and maybe have dance or two with some of the mares on the dance floor, or would you prefer to still look around the royal gardens?

 

He smiled sympathetically. It's all the same for me really, but I think it would do you good to meet other ponies every now and then, since I can guess you're most of the time pretty on your own at the Ponyville's electric dam and don't get out that often. He raised his hoof and patted the pegasu's shoulder caringly. C'mon, Volty! Let's go find you some ladies to dance with! The night is still young and we so much to do!

Volt turned to his friend, looking at his eyes... then he turned back watching the gardens

"you know Polaris, my friend.. being a pegasus.. means.. that you are used to watch things from above... you see them running under you.. you see them while flying, you feel superior... you feel free... i always lived my life.. in both good and bad choiche... in a fast way... i almost feel.. i watched it going by... i never enjoied this small moment.. the smell of this flowers, the beautifull look of Cloudsdale or of tat mountains, the breezein my mane... this is all so new and strange for me.. earth ponies and unicorns, sometimes wonder how it feels to be a pegasus.. oh it feels marvelous there is nothing else to say yes... but.. when you slow down.. when you let your eyes watching around nstead of avoiding the next obstacle.. you see things in a different way"

As he continued to take in his surroundings, midnight saw his co-worker bump in to a green pony then fly off to try to meet one of the wonder bolts again, he rolled his eyes "I just hope it dosnt turn out like last year" he said and continued on, as he wanted to meet one of the wonder bolts himself "now lets see" he tried to remember their names so he could make conversation "there's sauron and spitfire" but he couldn't remember the thirds name, he had only heard his colourful co-worker say the names and had never actually seen them himself so decided to, quite literally, wing it. He decided that if they saw him flying they would introduce themselves, after all, he could beat rainbow dash in a race and she thought that she had a pretty good chance of meeting them, he flew diagonally at the sky so that nopony would get hurt and did a sonic electro boom "that's gotta get their attention" he said and flew back down, everypony sat and stared at him for a second, then went back to their "much more interesting" conversations. A few ponys looked a bit surprised and he got the feeling that some of them were now talking about him, but the wonder bolts still payed NO attention to him, "oh well" he said and continued to explore the gala

Steel seen the sonic electro boom and flew over to the pony "I'm stained steel who are you" steel asked the light catching the rubies on his dagger again steel was interested in this pony he wasn't one of the wonder bolts steel wasn't sure but he was fairly certain this pony wasn't in the academy either he had to just be a fan of the wonderbolts and steel could use that to his advantage since he knew the wonderbolts he trains with them when he's not guarding Luna he may not be the faster flyer around but he had endurance and high wing strength so he could handle himself in the air he had trained with them for the purpose of leaning how they did so he could train himself to be a better flyer then what he was and it had worked he would use the promise of meeting the wonder bolts as a way to get this pony to find moonbeam for him

Steel could easily find her himself if he tried to but with all these ponies he really couldn't focus on tracking Anypony or anything it was all he could do to not flip out

After awhile of showing Roac around, she decided to teleport them back to the gardens where they orginally left their friends, then turned to him. "Well I think I"ll go do some more exploring around the Gala, I'm curious to see whom other ponies I might get the chance to meet!" She grinned at the grypon, then fluttered off to examine the gala from a few feet up in the air.

 

Nothing really caught her attention other then spotting Polaris and Volt mingling below, but it made her smile knowing her friends were there...so that if she felt quizzy or unsettled, she could always find her way back to a familiar crowd. But her eagerness to explore and maybe even get out there to meet new ponies overwhelmed her fear, and more encourage her curiosity. I've been having such good luck with Obscure and Roac, maybe I'll get lucky even more! She thought to herself in a day dream like state.

But before she could come out of her mind and focus on where she was going, she crashed into a broad, silver stallion pegasus who seemed to be looking for somepony. She abruptly litterally poked him in the side with her horn lightly before she had tim to stop...she pulled back, rubbed her horn then looked up. "Gah I'm so terribly sorry, I was just distracted..." She looked up apologetically...and realized the stallion had a silver coat, mane and tail with white highlights in his mane. "Ahem..." she brushed off her hooves, feeling awkward for bumping into him.

Steel nodded "it's fine just pay more attention next time you never know when somepony will take it as a threat" steel said he looked at her with his liquid silver eyes for a moment he knew a pony that might like the mare he smiled and wondered if he was at the Galla he'd have to look around for him later "are you alright" steel asked as he fixed his tuxedo and bow tie and the dagger she was luck she didn't hit it because it would have really hurt her once done he looked back at her awaiting a response "and another thing did you come here alone or has your escort left to get you something to drink or eat" steel asked he hoped she didn't think he was hitting on her after all he was an engaged stallion

((I was hoping id be able to add another oc of mine his name is grell and I think he would find himself at the Galla and I was also wondering what everyponies charters looked like since I wasn't here when they where introduced I'm kinda lost on them it helps make the role play more fun when you can see it in your head))

"I'm sorry again," she rubbed her horn and checked her wings to make sure they weren't too dented from the bump, "um no... no escort," she said though didn't want to hint that she was single, "my friends are kinda just mingling, my husband Night Lights, part time pony guard, he's currently patrolling and..." she realized then the stallion didn't know who she was. She felt relieved then knowing he wasn't too interested in the fact she was an alicorn.

 

"I guess I was just getting a little excited on my good luck on meeting new ponies is all... I was kinda trying to get 'out here' and force myself to meet new ponies without being too shy though," she helped to dust off his shoulders from where she bumped into him, "this wasn't what I had in mind when I bumped into you. So sorry for bothering you Mr... Oh I didn't get your name?"

 

She rubbed her head then, her crown seeming to get heavier on her head along with her pendant around her neck, wondering if she should just keep flying or go back to meet Polaris and Volt.

Grell a white unicorn with a crimson mane with eyes the color of dried blood and a scythe and skull cutie mark was at the Galla as well wearing a dark almost maroon tux with a bright red now tie that mathed his mane he was wondering around and seen steel he walked over to him "hey steel" he said and then looked to the alicorn and bowed "hello I'm grell to whom do I owe the plusere" grell said with a smile he was a kind pony but most teens to avoid him because of his cutie mark it represented him being an undertaker but the image of a skull and scythe inspired fear in most ponies hearts

She explained and sighed heavily before forcing herself to say her name in full like Celestia and Luna encouraged her, "My name is Princess Lightning Bliss. Night Lights is my husband as well as personal body guard. Since the other Princesses encouraged me to...more or less come out of hiding for this time at the Gala...he accompanied me to the event. But like a typical dra- um... stallion... he didn't really want to dress up or get caught up in the fancy setup. So he put in a personal request by Celestia to do his own patrols around the castle while I..." she was about to continue when  a new pony, a unicorn named Grell came up, "Oh hello, I'm Princess Lightning Bliss... Friends of you two I see?"

 

She pawed the ground feeling more awkward then before, "I'm sorry... I was just explainging to your friend Steel that I'm... well I don't like to be viewed out in public this much... I'm one of those few princesses you'll probably ever see. But Princess Celestia and Luna had encouraged me to get out and mingle with the rest of the citizens for who and what I am... Especially Luna... she said it would built character and courage in me. I believe she told me about you once Mr. Steel, it's nice to finally meet you."

Midnight introduced himself, "my name is midnight flash" "I'm trying to get the wonder bolts to introduce themselves" he said then added, embarrassed "I forgot some of their names." Midnight saw a table with some food on it then realized that he was, in fact, quite hungry after flying all the way to canterlot "shall we continue speaking at the buffet?" He asked and flew to the food, leaving a trail of midnight blue, lightning yellow and more blue behind him. He had never seen this much food in his entire life "just wait until cutie pie hears about this place" he said to himself, thinking of his little sister. Midnight realized that he had seen the buffet from rather far away and the only reason he got there so fast was because of his natural ability to fly at a third the speed of light, "it may take a while for him to get here" he said, and decided to take a look around while he waited for the grey pony to get there. There was a very pretty (though inaccurate) statue of princess celestia that looked as if it had been put back together after the head came off.

Steel looked to the other pony he had forgot about him but listened he looked in the direction of midnight "I'll speak with him later he'll be easy to track" ste said he looked back to the lightning bliss "anyways what has Luna said about me" steel asked he knew about her because he worked with Luna for so long "she doesn't seem like she would talk about me other them to tell somepony my creditals before having me protect them so I'm very interested I'm what she said"

Grell smiled at her "well most ponies tend to stay away firm me tell me why does m cutie mark by cause you any fear like it does for so many others" grell asked "answer steel first though I can wait I'm used to just watching and listening to others talk" grell added he'd spent his life in exile because of his interest with the dead and his utmost respect for them he had such respect because he could see the souls of the dead and tended to talk to them because nopony else talked to him he often spent his time helping them cross to the other side

Midnight looked back and noticed that the grey pegasus wasn't even following him "okay then" he said "I'll just explore until he decides to come speak some more" it did, in fact, look like he was speaking to royalty so he decided not to inturrupt.

He continued to explore the gala and found a beautiful though deserted garden, he decided not to stay for long though, the lack of ponys must mean he wasn't supposed to be there. He explored around there for a while and then started wandering around the gala and eventually found himself back at the VIP area where the wonder bolts were mingeling, the only strange thing about it was that his grey cross-eyed mailmare was in the VIP area "how did SHE get in there while I can't even get anyponys attention!? And what's more she wasn't even talking to anypony, she was just yelling at a muffin for being lazy! "Well I guess that I just won't ever get to meet the wonder bolts, Sauron, spitfire and... Other"

She nodded to Grell and continued with Steel, "Well she told me you were a devoted guard in her ranks. Very dedicated in what you do, though apparently..." she pawed the ground a bit, "she mentioned you have a hard time loosing up...taking breaks or getting outside in the real world. She went on to tell me that when she first came back after her incident of being...Nightmare Moon, she was still able to get out and mingle if not 'play' with the Ponyville citizens some years during the celebration of Nightmare Night. She said she couldn't remember the last time she had this much fun and wish you were able to do the same."

 

She looked away hiding her eyes under her hair feeling like she wasn't in the right place to be speaking out for Luna...But Steel did have a right to know, after all he was one of her royal guards..."I know she thinks highly of you Mr. Steel," she continued, "I guess she's just concerned for your wellbeing on an emotional scale. She's a great Princess for thinking of her subjects this way. I only wish I could be half the alicorn she is."

Steel nodded "it's true I do my job and when I'm not working I'm training and working out"steel said "as for the social aspect I have a fiancé and I was trained form a very young age to use my blades and be detached from the world" steel added he wasn't to fond if sharing his past but if it helped somepony understand him them he'd do it to avoid looking like a social recluse "anyways I'm sure you're a great princess you shouldn't think lowly of yourself it'll only bring heart ache and pain" steel said looking around shifting his weight they where I'm an area with lots of ponies and steel wasn't to fond of this he preferred to be In small quite areas that he could watch theasses from

Grell listened and nodded knowing that what was said about steel was true he wasn't much for social gatherings and his work was hisofe and for the longest time it was his while life. It now he had moonbeam and that was good because it meant he had something to think about besides taking out threats and eliminating targets

"Well I'm not so sure, but thank you for thinking so, that makes me a little more confident," she smiled to him then to Grell before turning around to take her leave. "It was nice meeting you gentle colts, but I think I'll go and explore a bit more of the Gala if you don't mind. I hope you two enjoy yourselves!"

 

She trotted off and headed towards the castle gardens once more, not really aiming for anywhere specific, just merely taking in the sights, smells and sounds of the lovely night. She could hear other guests talking as she walked by, some even seeming to comment about her arrivel to the gardens...making her feel a little more nervous then she had bargained for.

 

To her annoyance, she realized she stummbled on what appeared to be a private group of aristrocats, all seeming to talk about their fortunes and money, along with which pony was hip or the most popular of the night, when they all stopped to stare at the small white alicorn mare with frowns. "Oh um..." she nodded to the fancy dressed unicorn and earth ponies of the group, "So sorry...was really just exploring the gardens. Didn't realize this was a private area?"

 

"And what pray tell... are you doing here Princess Lightning Bliss..." famliar white stallion with golden locks emerged from the group, their ring leader... Prince BlueBlood. "Tis is a private gathering...No big earred mares allowed..."

 

"I...I..." Bliss's eyes watered up a bit as he mocked her oversized ears, reminding her of her youth all over again, "I was just exploring the gardens...Hoping to meet new ponies and..."

 

"Well you aren't wanted here...Princess...Hmf! Hurry up and take off...before you make the rest of us grow...gryphon tails! Honestly..." he turned his back on her and mocked her more with his friends, "have you ever seen such mutations on a pony before? It's got to be the most outragous thing I've ever seen! Ugh, I hope it's not contagious!"

 

His friends all nodded to him and began to laugh...watching as the white alicorn galloped away and fluttered up into the air.

 

She headed to the highest ponit of the castle's tower and perched herself on the small ornament ball on the sip, threw her wings on her face, and sobbed.

Steel who had taken flight after she left had been flying over the gardens and had heard what happened and he flew after lighting bliss he flied near her spot "hey are you okay"steel asked as he landed beside her he laid his hoof in her back as she sobbed he rubbed he back comfortingly or at least he hoped he wasn't to good with these kinds of situations he was far more comfortable fighting then he was dealing with emotions because of his training form birth till he was seven he was trained to feel no emotion but hate and to let that hate guide his blades on battle

Grell sighed and went off trying to find her because she never answered him about why she didn't fear him because of his cutie mark he seen the scene with blue blood and he walked over his eyes shifting to bright crimson "ahem I think you owe her an apology blue blood and your little puppets to" grell said through gritted teeth he hated seeming ponies get picked on he had dealt with it his whole life because if his love for death

Roac had seen the whole thing, and as Grell attempts to intimidate Blueblood and his posse, Roac barrels through the crowd around Blueblood and siezes the prince by the collar, popping a claw as he does so.

 

"You got a problem with griffons, أهبل? You'd better watch your BUCKING mouth around her, or you'll have to answer to me!"

 

Roac grins and chuckles malignantly as the spoiled stallion's confidence melts away like a block of ice in a sandstorm. Roac begins to whisper, inches away from Blueblood's face. Only the prince can hear this; "Not so tough when somepony stands up to you, eh?.. I'll bet you know who I am, too. All the better a reason to keep your mouth SHUT, or I'll shut it for you... PERMANENTLY."

The griffon tosses him away-- not hard enough to send him careening away, but enough to put him on his flank and send the message; Get your sorry excuse for a pony's plot out of here, before I change my mind on letting you slither off unharmed.

 

He turns to Grell, resetting his bowtie. "Who in Oblivion was that قضيب? Oh, where are my manners?"

The griffon bows quickly and extends a claw to Grell. "A pleasure to meet you, friend."

She sniffed hard and blushed with embrassment, refusing to come out from behind her wings. Her large ears which got her insulted in the first place, aided in hiding her sobbing face. "Don't...don't worry about me..." she sobbed for a second...then reconsidered telling Steel why she was upset in the first place, since there was no point in avoiding it...he obviously saw as well as Grell and Roac. "Prince Blueblood is a right jerk!" She blurted out still sobbing under her ears and wings, "he's always been like that with me... Then again I hear he's like that with any mare he doesn't admire... He sees me as a poor excuse of a royal...infact he's even said my horn isn't a real horn of an alicorn, but probably a mutation of another sort just...Just like....my...my-my ears and tail..."

 

She attempetd to swing the black longated tail underneat her but the large feathery end kept sticking out brightly in all its flashy rainbow colors. "I'm so sorry Steel... Please don't worry about me... I'm just...low in confidence and... You don't have to come up here, I'm ruining your fun at the Gala..."

 

She eyed a little from underneath her ear as she heard the scuffle below, Roac and Grell defending her honor made her finally peak her little nose out and her redshot eyes. It wasn't like strangers to defend her so bodly...unlike her friends... Yet Grell who she only met moments ago, with the odd skull on his flank, and Roac who she only met an hour before...we're defending her from the rude Prince...She couldn't help but smile...and wonder what she did to impress them all in the first place.

Roac holds a claw up to Grell. "Hold that thought.", he says, as he makes his way to where Bliss is. He manages to, through a surprising display of free-running, make his way to the sobbing princess, digging his paws into the roof.

 

"... Hello... Are you okay, Bliss? He didn't say anything that cut too deep, did he?"

The crippled griffon pauses to touch one of your oversized ears with a claw. "He doesn't know what he is talking about. The Creator gave you your ears and tail for a reason; and, as it appears, you have found that reason. You might be isolated by ponies, but the griffons and dragons look upon you as a beautiful creature, one of the most relatable princesses in the Royal Family..."

Steel smiled at her before they showed up but before he could say anything the griffin showed up he had seen what had happened with him and blue blood he nodded to him then he looked at lightning "don't worry about Rubin my fun at the gala I don't enjoy things if this nature besides when I see a female In pain I must act" steel said referring to his code if honer

Grell looked at blue blood after the griffin threw him on the ground he bends down and gets close to his ear and spoke with the sound of a thousand souls only loud enough for the price to hear " you trifle with things which you don't understand you disrespect her again and you will fell the wrath of the death master" with that grell used magic to teleport to the roof by lightning he looked at her using magic to stay "hey don't worry about what he said he's foolish and spoiled and knows. It if true Beauty" grell said he meant it to in fact he actually had a small crush on lightning he didn't know about her having a husband be smiled at her

She smiled at all three males as she slowly retracted her wings to her side and managed to flap her large ears back behind her head. She attempted to flatten them down so they weren't as obvious...the Prince's words still echoing in her head, but they were stubborn large ears, she had no hope to push them back. She sighed and tried to sit up with her head up high.

 

"I'm just a big baby, I made a scene," she shrugged at herself, "I'm sorry to have dragged any of you into that... My father would have told me to stand up for myself better. But when I get caught off guard like that... I guess...I just hide some. Usually right after his insults I think of ways to better stand up for myself. But I never seem to get a proper chance to... I hope I get to the next time." She smiled to Roac, and Steel, while noticing Grell eyeing her in a flirtatious way.

 

"You three really know how to make a mare blush!" She giggled, holding her hoof up to her nose trying to hide her laughter. "To be honest now that I think about it! Prince Blueblood got off lucky. If my husband were here he would have torched him. He told me he would if he ever caught the Prince doing that to me again."

Grell was caught what was said and although saddened it didn't show expect for the shift in look he no longer had the luster to his eyes which where still bright crimson and seemed to glow in the dim lighting "so it's happened before then maybe hes had enough chances" grell thought aloud he would love to tear into him and punish him for the pain he had caused grell caught himself if he spent to much time dwealing on death he could trigger a shift and change into his reaper form,he'd be larger and cloaked in shadows that stay with him glowing red eyes,with nothin but darkness visible to Anypony but the glowing redness and that wouldn't be good especially at the gala where so many would be horrified and the others would attack

Steel smiled "you're not a baby and it wasn't that much if a scene I was looking for my fiancé moonbeam and had been flying by when it happened"steel said "and as for bein able to make you blush I only speak the truth I'm always brutally honest and more often then not it gets me into trouble"
