This was an ok episode. It had a potential, but it wasn't well utilized.

Too much focus on Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash, it would be okay if it was only their episode, but it wasn't.

AJ and Rarity wasted too much time on arguing on the same subject over and over which started to do the boring, which is a pity because I really love their duo.
I think that Pinkie Pie despite being a jerk had partly right but she just gone too much overboard.
Rainbow Dash doesn't deserve a hate but she should learn to think faster than act.
I have mixing feelings about Fluttershy's attitude at the end.
But in spite of all I enjoyed this episode, it had some nice moments.

The only thing I was thinking while watching this episode was...

The Team Fortress 2 Trading Community

Also the odd OCs Background ponies.

Good Episode

Overall I did like it.  Though Pinkie did start to get a bit annoying, not as much as the episode with the Ponytones.  The quests that Rainbow Dash had to do reminded me of some stuff that happens in some rpg's.  Also I wondered when the crystal broke instead of spending all the time it took to glue the pieces together why didn't Rainbow Dash try to find Twilight or Rarity & take it in a bag to one of them.  She is fast and could have found Twilight pretty fast & saved a lot of time.

Speaking of the crystal chalice, why didn't RD just ask the trader to give her a new one instead. For it to break like that means the trader is liable for trading faulty merchandise.

You're not using cartoon logic :)  Besides it was funny because the vender who wanted it was going to break it anyway.

so as much as I did like this episode, it wasn't one of my favorites. it kinda reminded me of the castle mane-ia episode which i really thought was kinda all over the place.

don't get me wrong though, I still very much loved it, I thought the voice acting was spot on and it did seem all the ponies were in full character.

I personally liked this episode. It wasn't my favorite this season ("Pinkie Pride" currently holds that title), but I liked it. There were different sories happening at the same time, and lots of things happening in the background (which is great because of my ADD - it came with my super-speed). I'm going to have to re-watch this episode a few more times to fully absorb all of the details. Oh, and the Frogger reference was pretty good, too!

I honestly did not really care for the episode at all until I saw... this... part...

The fact that they made a Bioshock reference blew me out of the water. I gave it 5 stars then.

Edit*** Oh and that make-a-wish OC... totally hot and I'm sending all my positive thoughts to the kid. Hope there's a miracle for him. <3

What make-a-wish OC? D:

Is it Michael's?

I think this episode gives us a bit of insight on how they plan to proceed with Twilight being a princess. Instead of having Twilight doing all her royal duties by herself, rather have her friends join her to help. I see that playing out well.

I really liked this episode though! It's probably in my top 10 favorites, you get to see so many different character dynamics. The dispute with Rarity and Applejack, and the fun that Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash get to have trying to get RD's book ( I was still bummed she didn't get her book though).

Gotta love Pinkie Pie's enthusiasm this episode too, probably her funniest IMO.

I liked "Trade Ya". It was good but not my favorite of the season. I loved that we saw Twilight treated as a princess again and it was really nice to see continuity with her wearing the same crown from the season 4 opener. I loved seeing the disabled pony. His wheelchair reminded me of wheelchairs for dogs where the dogs legs are tied into the back of the wheelchair. I heard that character is someone's fan OC that was added because of a Make A Wish request from a disabled boy which I think is just so awesome!

I enjoyed this episode but not as much as Testing Testing 1,2,3. The stories were interesting, especially the subplot with Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. What I really liked though was that Twilight was being treated like princess for once which servers as great buildup for the season finale, Twilight's Kingdom. Also, the comedy was good in it. But was I the only one wondering where Spike went throughout the episode? He disappeared after the first few minutes.

He was at the "Power Ponies" trading booth for the whole episode trying to get the comic he wanted. You can see him in the background when Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy are running around to different booths. The funny thing is Spike is the only character who did what he originally set out to do and got the trade he wanted from the beginning.

Rainbow and Fluttershy taking over the oatburger stand was a great touch. It was a bit odd though that Rainbow got so carried away, that she tried to ensnare Fluttershy into a term of indentured servitude.

(Everyone keeps saying slavery, but I think I'm closer!)

Put me in the "Meh" category for this episode.  I felt that it was an awfully boring plot with a lot of forced stuff in it, and unfortunately the "whack you over the head with the moral at the end" bit again.  Nothing really stood out to me plot-wise here.

Stuff I did like: The various self-references (the Discord lamps, the stone chickens, the Crazy Twilight photo, etc), and of course the wheelchair OC - I'd read about that before actually watching this episode, and I thought that was truly awesome. :)

I'm also glad to see Twilight actually BE a princess for once.
