Will Guide 21,377 May 1, 2014 Share May 1, 2014 May the Best Pet Win because it somehow promoted rape culture ^Anti-Villain relays a dumb complaint they've heard from someone else^ Similar to a line from the Nostalgia Critic about "racism" in the titanic movie with the octopus, my reaction to the above quote is: "Did we really take an episode with Rainbow Dash, a test to find the perfect pet, and somehow come up with rape culture" (imagines (rainbows with a horse) + (a picture of several animals) = (a cutaway gag from Family Guy of Useless Aquaman failing to stop a rape)) "How do you do that?!" Seriously, I can't find anything else on the internet that gives the impression that MtBPW promotes rape culture. That is a dumb episode complaint! Fender 1,284 May 1, 2014 Share May 1, 2014 You know what? I want to replace my first answer of "Everyone who hated EqG and hates the upcoming movies for no *good* reason other than it not mlp lol.' Pineapple Bloom 511 May 1, 2014 Share May 1, 2014 The Feeling Pinkie Keen episode and the fact that it seems to be referring to religion. It's not about religion at all... how is twitching to make predictions meant to make people think of religion anyway? The episode just promoted that you should have faith in your friends when they seem to know what they're doing, even if you don't quite understand it. OptimisticNeighsayer 479 May 1, 2014 Share May 1, 2014 Many of the complaints about "A Canterlot Wedding" annoy me to no end. --"Luna's a traitor for sleeping through the Changeling invasion!"-- I'll admit that it's strange that Luna wasn't wakened by the obviously loud commotion out there, but really, she needed her sleep even given what little we saw of her. Besides, she'd probably be defeated by Chrysalis too if she got the opportunity to battle. Celestia's enough. For that matter... --"Celestia keeps on getting the Whorf Effect; just to give an excuse for the Mane 6 to look for the Elements!"-- for one thing, Celestia's defeat provided a critical insight into how Chrysalis has been operating, secondly, so? There's no need for Celestia to be perfect. --"Everyone else is too stupid to notice something's wrong with Cadence!"-- Der, only Twilight really knew her from the beginning. Maybe Celestia and Shining Armor should have had some suspicions, but Shining Armor's judgment was clouded by the early stages of the brainwashing, and Celestia, like most of the others, was too removed from everything else. --"Twilight's an idiot for throwing out accusations like that!"-- Again, please don't expect characters to be perfect, especially when dealing with two people that affected him or her very personally. --"Chrysalis' plan was stupid for [insert reason here]."-- I'll just address one of the dumber ones, the placement of Twilight in nearly the same cell as Cadence. How in the world was Fake!Cadence to know of Twilight's full range of capabilities? The only thing that was really wrong about her plan is that she didn't make too much of an effort to stop Cadence and Shining Armor from bonding in a moment of pedestal pride. And the bride and groom on the top of the wedding cake: --"They didn't develop the season (or anything else before) sufficiently enough to include Cadence or Shining Armor!"-- What were the writers to do, insert a random scene of AJ asking Twilight about if she has any brothers or sisters? Make an episode about Twilight reminiscing about her past? The latter, of course, would make much more sense, but really, give the episode credit for introducing the two well enough for their significance to Twilight to be explored on such short notice. There are real flaws with the two-parter, but these aren't among them. 1 Hablo español--Je parle français--日本語を話す--我说中文--...and sarcasm (yeah right!) I compose music. Forlong 1,726 May 1, 2014 Share May 1, 2014 "Chrysalis' plan was stupid for [insert reason here]." The real problem with that complaint is that we don't know what the plan was. The whole thing was ruined when Twilight barged in and Chrysalis was just winging it from there. "They didn't develop the season (or anything else before) sufficiently enough to include Cadence or Shining Armor!"-- What were the writers to do, insert a random scene of AJ asking Twilight about if she has any brothers or sisters? Make an episode about Twilight reminiscing about her past? The latter, of course, would make much more sense, but really, give the episode credit for introducing the two well enough for their significance to Twilight to be explored on such short notice. Here is a list of episodes that could have reasonably mentioned or shown either of these characters: The Ticket Master A Bird in the Hoof The Cutie Mark Chronicles The Best Night Ever The Return of Harmony Lesson Zero Sweet and Elite Hearth's Warming Eve Ponyville Confidential MMMystery on the Friendship Express Now I agree with you that this is not the fault of the episode in question. Hasbro let the writing team know well ahead of time that they wanted these characters in the show. Lauren Faust should have taken advantage of the opportunity to set up the characters reasonably. Obsidian Sky 14,004 May 1, 2014 Share May 1, 2014 I'm still puzzled by the whole "knocking Rarity for upstaging Sweetie Belle in 'For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils'" thing. All she did was try to make the costumes as good as possible, in spite of doing so for free and taking time out of her very, very busy schedule to do so. So... she was not supposed to make them look as good as possible? I mean, what kind of message would that be? If you want to help someone, just half ass it so you don't upstage them? Well, it is Rarity, so she has to do something wrong. Seeing that she is responsible for everything that is wrong in the world. Im sure she is also Satan. I mean, look at those costumes. All she had to to was check some seams, or something like that, and they would have been fine. She did not even stick close to the artistic vision Sweetie had for them. Evil Rares ruins always everything beautiful. I mean look at them... they are flawless, how could she even dare to change such gorgeous handiwork! Look at that artistic theme Sweetie has done here! Marvelous! Stupid bitchy Rarity, always trying to help her sister to not get embarassed in front of an huge audience. That Sweetie waited until the very last opportunity to ask for Rares help and did not even stick around to say what changes she actually wanted is no excuse.

And of course since we never see Rarity take *any public credit for it whatsoever* (which is kind of an important part of that whole "upstaging" thing) , well... she probably told everyone about her work on the dresses offscreen! Because she's an evil and sneaky glory hog that way! 2 Sig by Thunderstorm Check out my Rarity fansite!

Adorkable 2,737 May 3, 2014 Share May 3, 2014 Personally, that's not the fact she became an alicorn that bothers me, but how it happened. It was so...rushed. Well, Magical Mystery Cure was a 3 part episode, I'm not sure how many people really understand that though. While we only seen part 1 at the finale of Season 3, Meghan considers Princess Twilight Sparkle part 1 and 2 to be the 2nd and 3rd parts of Magical Mystery Cure. So really, instead of saying it was rushed, it was more delayed.

That's honestly the dumbest complaint I've ever heard about a pony episode. -Babs Seed: I've heard some bronies complain that the anti-bullying message was useless because going to an adult doesn't work. I think the opposite. I think going to an adult DOES work. Love is a most potent magic My FiMFiction | My DA | My Facebook
