Your funeral - How do you want it?

The Deus Ex Machina

Discussion thread on funerals.

I'd probably like mine as a regular one, coffin, no cremation, family grave, church.

And this as a final wish to be played instead of some, excuse me for saying it but, christian gibberish.

This is a bit of a dark topic. I guess I'll chyme in my thoughts of what my wishes are though.

My entire life, I've always had the same view on traditional funerals. I never liked them that much. Not because they're sad or because it's your body in the casket, but because of the memory it holds. Some people need to have funerals because it's the best way of coming to the acceptance of the death of a loved one, and I can respect that. I, however, don't want anything like that. In fact, I don't even want an event at any sort of funeral home.

I want my memory to live on in everyone's hearts and in everyone's minds. I want them to remember me as I was living and not in death. I want them to find peace and solace with the times they've shared with me during the time I had on earth. When they think back on those memories, I want them to be able to smile knowing that they knew me during life. I don't want them to have memory of how I looked in a casket. I don't want them to go through any sort of experience like that.

Therefore, I'm going to be cremated. I want any sort of service being held in my memory, to be held at the resident of one of my close family. I want everyone to share the memories they had with me and share all the good times! That's my wish.

You play Red Orchestra 2?! So do I~!

This is what would be fitting for me becuase of it's sheer sorrow tone. The language spoken is Danish. If not, feel free to correct me anypony.

Well. First off. I would want my best and most trustworthy friend, ProjectRKA, to come to my funeral. I would like to have a thank you letter addressed to RKA telling him about how I am thankful for everything he has done to help me told at the funeral. I would want my family and friends to be there.

I would like a personalized funeral, but hopefully there is at least some kind of afterlife that lets me watch it xD

I've often thought about it but I can't really decide if I would want to rot in a casked or be crematized. I would definately like to leave a video/message behind, some last thoughts that I can share with the persons I love. Also I would have liked to have some of my favorite songs(that fit a funeral of course) played. I can imagine my funeral pretty well but I hope it takes some time until then

I'll be too dead to care.

Honestly.

I don't really care what happens to my body after I'm dead. All I know is that I don't want people to spend large amounts of money for my funerals. It's basically wasted money.

As a dead person, it won't make a difference to me whether I'm buried in a gold coffin or if my corpse gets eaten by rats in some dark alley. I just don't want the people I love to feel too sad about my death, since there'd be no point and you can't bring back the dead anyway. So just a normal, quiet funeral would suit me.

to tell the truth I agree with Marshmellow, but I guess I would rather be cremated that buried if I had to choose.

They can put my head on a pike and parade it around town for all I care.

After all, I'd be dead, so I would even be able to know what they do with my body.

I hope whoever will deal with my dead body will know that I don't care and will keep the expenses disposing it to a minimum.

I want mine to be like a viking party full of happiness and jovial cheer, I don't want to be sent off to the big wherever with a boat-load of sadness. I will have happy music and would want my family to realize I am fine wherever I may be headed. I know (hope) they would grieve, it is only natural, but I also want them to celebrate their own lives and the life I attempted to live to the fullest.

I think I will probably be buried in one of those new-age places like the one in California where you are buried in a decomposable coffin with nothing to preserve your body. Everything goes back to the earth (even the tombstone is wooden, but they place an object in your grave that emits a signal allowing people to know where you are buried).

IDK how I want mine to be, but my friend Dan told me that he wants a very expensive funeral. (with a bad ass coffin ofc). lol.....

I'd prefer to be cremated so there's no possibility that I'll return as a zombie. I'd like it to be sort of like an Irish Wake, except with EVEN MORE drinking, endless kegs, lots of lobster and only my best buds and closest family being there.

Eh? Nandatte?

Reading the thread I am actually thinking over it. A militaristic funeral is something I want but I don't want a gigantic speech and a 200 man orchestra but I want to go out as someone that will be slightly remembered as the man who went to the grave with his grandpa's old Luftwaffen uniform and that song played.

There is a similar topic to this, "What song would you like played at your funeral"

I stand by my point I made there, it is up to the people who want to remember me, to choose how. It will not affect me if they do it wrong according to what I would like, it's not about what I want, but what they want to remember of me.
