I am going back to this gem after all these years of having nostalgia from the VHS I once owned. I honestly wish I could have been old enough to see this in theaters. Now I am going to be quick, so we can start a discussion.

I prefer A Goofy Movie for these reasons

All the songs are memorable, in my opinion possibly the best Disney OST

Animation is better than sequel

Coming of age story

Disney characters are more than bland slap stick characters

I still love An Extremely Goofy Movie. But it cut corners and it was released when Disney had no faith in their successes. Disney for example wanted Toy Story 2 to be a direct to video sequel... Can you even imagine something like that? Obviously not.

PS

Also it seems in the first movie, everyone is aware that Mickey Mouse owns the world. Like aside from Mickey and Donald's cameo. It's like the Disney characters are aware they're Disney characters. It's not like that in the sequel. Except that one line where Bobby says "You always wonder why, we're wearing gloves?"

I have to go with A Goofy Movie. The songs in there were awesome, especially "The Open Road". Still have an old cassette tape with that song on it.

I love both, they were my bread and butter as a kid, but I have to go with the original. Those songs man! "After Today", "Stand Out", "Eye to Eye"... They were great!

I've always preferred the story and characters of the second and the whole X-Games business. An Extremely Goofy Movie is actually what really got me into Disco music in the first place.

Oh and I like how Max isn't so much of a punk as in the first one. He's actually kinda smart but still holds on to that rebellious side.

But I really love the Powerline songs and I wish I could find more music like it. That stuff was awesome.

The only thing that irks me about the second one is WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO ROXANNE, Y U NO EXPLAIN!?

I know there were episodes of Mickey's House of Mouse with Roxanne in it but unsure if they are considered canon or if they explain anything.

They're both hilarious and have an interesting story.

This is a tough one. I'll have to say An Extremely Goofy Movie, but only because it was the most recent one I watched(I need to watch the first one again)
