Welcome to the world of Virria.  A world inhabited by creatures called Pokemon.  A world of danger.  These wild creatures have long been a threat to humans outside of their established civilizations, being kept to their own territory by the combined efforts of trained soldiers and “trainers”, who tame the Pokemon themselves to help keep the danger at bay.  And the world existed like this for many years…  Until the virus happened.

 

The Pokerus virus, normally completely harmless to its hosts.  In fact Pokemon infected by the virus become stronger and grow more quickly.  Things changed when a rare strain of the virus evolved…  One that could find a host in humans.

 

The virus is virtually undetectable – in fact, there are absolutely no signs that a human is infected with the virus.  That is, unless the host is pregnant…  The virus changes the unborn child, so that when they are born they’re no longer strictly human.  A very rare condition where the offspring is part human, and part Pokemon.

 

These children of the virus were dubbed ‘Morphs’ by the general populace.  And they were feared.  For generations humans had been in fear of the dangerous wildlife they’ve shared this planet with, and that prejudice carried over to these poor outcasts of society.  Many were killed outright – those that survived did so in secrecy, in fear of the world learning their secrets.  This continued up until the day of the Reckoning.

 

A dangerous creature known as Giratina threatened to swallow Virria in darkness, to pull the inhabitants into a realm known as the Distortion World.  None were able to stop the monster, human or Pokemon…  Not until an unlikely band of heroes arose.  They were Morphs of many colours, hailing from distant corners of the realm where they had gone unseen by society.  They fought back the monster known as Giratina…  And then they disappeared.

 

This is a legend that has been passed down over the years, to where we find ourselves today.  Morphs, while still quite rare, are able to live with their human counterparts.  The fear and prejudice still exists…  But not as extensively as in the past. 

 

You are one of these rare beings, part human and part Pokemon.  And this is where our story begins.  A large Absol-Morph who calls himself Shade has approached you with the offer to journey to a small town called Iselia.  There you’re to meet with others like you, to form a ‘Rescue Team’ under an Umbreon-Morph named Lhee.   Few details were given beyond that, however…

Alright, so I think that set the scene well enough.  This is something of a new idea I’ve had, and want to try making it into an RP.  Since this IS a new idea that I’m uncertain on how well it will work, I’d like to keep this RP restricted to people that I have personally roleplayed with before and know that they are skilled and willing to go through with something like this.

Gender:  Male

Physical Description:  Lhee is of about average height and build, a little more on the slender side rather than bulky.  He has black spiky hair, and a small goatee of the same colour.  His ears are those of an Umbreon rather than a human, and he also has an Umbreon’s tail.  There are blue rings on his forehead, shoulders, and hips matching those around his ears and tail that sometimes glow at night.  He has gold eyes with small flecks of red in the irises, and his vision does not seem impaired at night.

When in the field or on assignment, Lhee is usually seen wearing a full suit of tanned leather armor.  If off duty, it is more likely to find him wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and black jeans.

Personality Analysis:  Member of a previous rescue team that went off the grid for a time.  Potentially unstable, Lhee is reluctant to speak about his previous experiences.  Usually quiet, often answers questions with a polite smile.  This seems to be hiding something – unable to learn more without getting closer to the subject.  His reluctance to answer our questions has made psyche analysis difficult.

Combat Style:  Often serves a supportive role in combat, using the natural bulk of Umbreon to protect allies while using his powers to mend their wounds.  When faced directly, he resorts to a pair of crescent moon-shaped daggers and underhanded tricks.  WARNING: EXPECT POISON

Ability:  Inner Focus

Powers to be aware of:  Protect, Wish, Heal Bell, Faint Attack

 

 

 

Random Notes:

 

 

-Not setting out a list of set rules, as anyone who joins this RP should know me well enough to already understand basic RP requirements.

 

-This is not set in the canon Pokemon world – this is a world I’m making up using Pokemon as a base.  Think of it sort of like a mix between Pokemon and a more classic RPG like DnD. 

 

-On a similar note, this RP may be a little on the dark side.  Since it’s not canon, the Pokemon will be more like wild creatures than they are normally shown as.  A wild Charizard won’t think twice about turning a person into their dinner.

 

-Everyone should start with four moves – you will be able to learn more as the RP grows.  You will not have to replace an old move in order to learn a new one.

 

-The setting can be thought of as a medieval time period.  Technology is not all that far advanced.

Physical Description: Aolani looks like the very essence of femininity. She simply looks like a very attractive female, perhaps a bit older than she actually is as well. Aolani looks much more human than pokemon. The only pokemon aspects of note she has are the long, ribbon like feathers of a sky blue color protruding from her forehead, a tail consisting of five long feathers of the same color, and she is noted to blush white instead of the normal red/pink. Her skin is rather light. Both her eyes and hair are a sky blue color, though her pupils and eyelashes are a much lighter variant of the color.


Personality Analysis: Aolani appears to be rather reserved and timid. She is very dependant on people she places trust in, though she also rarely puts trust in others. Aolani is rather lady like, as could be gathered from her usual garb, and doesn't seem to talk much. However, she's also been noted to snap at times. Though it's rare, if she hits her breaking point she goes slightly psychotic, and even sadistic.


Combat Style: Aolani fights with a sky blue and white halberd of similar colors to her dress. She usually keeps on the defensive, despite doing a poor job at this on most situations. Aolani will rely on her powers more than her halberd. She'll usually flee a scene if she finds herself in trouble, regardless. She's clearly not much of a threat.


Ability: Cloud Nine


Powers to be aware of: Perish Song, Cotton Guard, Dragon Pulse, and Mist.

Physical Description: (picture WIP)A giant amongst humans, Gallin stands at an impressive three inches above six feet. Furthermore, his musculature could best be described as 'ripped'. His skin bears several noticeable battle-scars, and his skin could be described as having a leathery look and texture, tanned over many long years in harsh sunlight. His hair is short and spiky, but given that he cut it himself, the spikes aren't exactly of regular lengths. His most noticeable traits that identify his pokemon nature are his overbite, his black scelera and yellow irises, and fins that protrude out of his forearms. As far as an outfit goes... he doesn't really wear much. He bares his chest and scars proudly, and he covers his chest and lower jaw in a splattering of red 'war-paint'. He wears a black pelt of an unidentified origin about his waist, but he is evidently rather proud of that kill. For decency sake, we have decided to give him a pair of trousers to cover up his legs in the unfortunate circumstance that his pelt becomes loose in the midst of battle.
Personality Analysis: Gallin seems to be very brutish. He doesn't seem to associate with humans on a regular basis, and spends most of his time in the mountains which he calls his home. When he does speak, it is fragmented, broken, and his vocabulary seems limited. He has been noted to snap into a wild rage when out hunting for food. Oddly, though, on one occasion, he seemed to had let a wild pokemon free from a snaring trap. We aren't quite sure what his motivations were in that action, however.
Combat Style: Gallin seems to prefer to wield two battle-axes, one in each hand. He flings himself with reckless abandon into the middle of combat, seemingly not caring about any attacks that the opponent may attempt to use. His tenacity is remarkable, really. We are not certain how he will fair in a team, however.

Gender: Male


Physical Description: Henry wears a cloak that is black on the outside and purple on the inside. He features spiky purple hair with pale white skin and is always sporting a rather large grin. While he looks mostly human he can cause parts of his body to become intangible and invisible. He also sports gloves that resemble large claws, much like actual Haunter.


Personality Analysis: Henry is a very odd specimen. The boy has an unhealthy obsession with death and killing, likely linked to childhood trauma or the fact that he is, of course, part ghost. He does not only enjoy killing others but has gone on record describing countless different ways he could die a "horrible bloody death." Despite this Henry does not seem to have suicidal tendencies and is, in fact, always smiling and appears very cheerful, even while preforming unspeakable acts. Though rare some say Henry is capable of forming strong bonds and friendships, most notably with Pokemon. He has been seen several times conversing with and befriending multiple Pokemon suck as Murkrow and Duskull. In short, while he appears to have a cheerful and happy nature he is very dangerous and is likely covering up some sort of dark past or secret. Approach with caution.


Combat Style: Henry prefers ranged combat and utilizes several tomes that posses magical properties. Like most Haunters he has very little physical strength and, as such, is not very adept at hand to hand combat or close ranged weapons. Unlike other Morphs it seems as if most of Henry's powers come from the tomes he wields. It is not known whether or not he can preform such abilities without them.


Ability: Levitate

Gender: Female


Physical Description: (drawing to be made) Naomi is about an averaged sized girl with the classic wild dark hair of a Luxray amid her unique blue and yellow ears. Despite her thin appearance, she carries a very tone and athletic body with a slightly more light caramel shade of skin color. For the most part, she is built to resemble a runner but assuming that her strikes wouldn't hurt would prove a major mistake. Naomi normally wears a very stylish, black short jacket with long yellow and blue sleeves that fall into her hands firmly taped in ebony colored boxing tape. Under her jacket is a trendy able-bodied crop top of the same color scheme as the jacket. Getting past her bare stomach, Naomi keeps the light feeling of her shorts over things such as pants or other articles of clothing in the added concept of them having a fair room for her small Luxray starred tail. Upon her legs, she wears high socks styled much like the sleeves on her arms that trickled down to her sandals. Although her appearance may look like it wasn't meant for the common traveler, Naomi only needed her sandals to get from place to place...though, she adored going barefoot when she could. 


Personality Analysis: The quickest way to analyze a 'morph' like Naomi would be the flirtatious and cockily competitive type to hide her inner self. Behind all the taunting and captivating, the girl always felt the firm beating of her heart, caring deeply for others less fortunate than herself. All the same, she wasn't exactly the 'morph' to be trifled with. If she was angry, her fists and feet usually did the rest of the talking. Loyal as possible for her, Naomi occasionally questions herself and on even rarer occasions have emotional breakdowns.


Combat Style: By far, Naomi is a hand to hand combat specialist, moving around almost all the time and perfecting the idea of mind over matter. Styled in many forms of judo, grappling, kickboxing, karate, kung fu, and many others, Naomi can't help herself in beating the living hell out of an enemy or rendering them paralyzed through her electrical abilities. Acrobatically flexible, kick on her feet, and fast to strike or disable, Naomi is a force to be reckoned with...though make sure not to status her. You would regret your mistake very quickly. 


Ability: Guts


Powers to be aware of: Wild Charge, Electric Terrain, Facade, Double Team

Took me all day to make, but it's ready at long last.

 

Name on File: Bethany AKA 'Beth'
Morph Type: Braixen
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Physical Description: Bethany looks very feminine, having the signature fur of her Braixen heritage but her body structure is mostly human, aside from her feet, hands, and upper body. As a result, the only clothing she wears are pants and jackets due to her upper body being covered in soft yellow fur, though she often has to modify her pants to accomodate her bushy tail. While she lacks the red plumes Braixens normally have, she still has the large ears. Her hair is thick and bushy and red in color. Her face carries traits of her Braixen heritage, with the coloration and a muzzle, but her eyes are a light sapphire blue, a trait from her human side.
Personality Analysis: Bethany is a quiet individual who enjoys reading, writing, and sweet food. Outwardly, she appears timid and shy, reluctant to open up to others. This stems from a paranoia regarding her heritage. However, she values any friends she makes and will do what she can to defend them if need be. However, she is afraid of losing friends, which can lead her to withdraw more in attempt to avoid being hurt.
Combat Style: Bethany fights at a range, staying out of melee combat and trying to take down opponents before they can reach her. Her skills are balanced between attack and defence, using both to gain advantage in a fight. That said, she is usually reluctant to get into a fight without a good reason.
Ability: Blaze
Powers to be aware of: Psyshock, Flamethrower, Light Screen, Will-o-Wisp

Gender: Male


Physical Description: There is little outward affects of his morph nature other than his unimpressive (But surprisingly still adequate) musculature stature and thin layers of hardened bone-like plating over his kneecaps, forearms, and chest. We think he has the trademark (If ginger) mustache of an Alakazam but where unsure due to the way he keeps it well trimmed. As for his features he has ginger hair that is usually unkempt though trimmed to an comfortably short length and no facial hair to speak of. His build is quite average if a bit on the thin and tall side. Not too sure where the pale skin tone came from either...


Personality Analysis: Rather unnerving thing about 'Merric' is that where unsure if hes really what we've picked up on his actual personalty. (Or if he has one.) Most of the time when we try to ask him anything he ends up learning more about us than we do him. So far we've gathered that he seems to act quite relaxed during any situation, even combat, and that though he show's emotion... We're unsure if he means any of it. All in all... We've got little to say as all of our questions are answered with questions......


Combat Analysis: Usually keeps on the defensive (Using his spear to keep his opponent at a length while blocking their attacks with his round shield in addition to using his abilities to hinder them.) until he has a good idea of what his opponent is capable of, after that 'Merric' often uses his more unpredictable abilities to break their guard and finish them.


Ability: Synchronize


Powers to be Aware of: Teleport, Kinesis, Confusion

Out of curiosity (and because Henry the Haunter is confusing me with the magic stuff), is there magic in this RP and how does it work?

 

Basically, magic in a DnD sense of the word, doesn't exist.  However, the ability for Morphs to use powers of the Pokemon they're based off of is scary to the general populace, and has been dubbed "Magic" by pretty much everyone.

Also, sorry for the late replies, no worries as I'm still keeping the RP going!  Here lately I've only been managing to get on the forums every 2-3 days or so is all.
