I'm fluffy on the inside but man I have a thing for dark, suspenseful, or horrific story lines.

I saw the first Purge and I was like "YES" the whole time....

I'm super excited to see the second one and I'm pretty impressed that this movie has had so much support compared to the usual horror/suspense films these days...

Will you see it? >:3

Here's the trailer:

That looks...atrocious. So no. I shan't see it.

Have you ever seen the Silent Hill films?

Yes, and I love em. ^^

I want a dead space live action movie series more than anything... o.o

Maybe. A lot of people I know say the first one was good. I really should watch the first one sometime.

It really was fantastic. The plot twist was great and it does teach you some sort of moral valued lesson. o.o

I hate most horror movies - not because they scare me but because they're just shit. The idea of The Purge is great but it just looks way too much like an action movie for the "fucked up"ness to have any gravity. The Silent Hill series is one of the few series which I like.

I'm unsure of a Dead Space series though. I didn't particularly like the games. I didn't find them scary; it was just annoying that there were enemies around every corner. Also, I don't know of any good horrors set in space apart from Alien.

Oh god, those masks! I remember this trailer. I think I actually own the Purge on DVD somewhere. I'm going to go look for it. I'll give it a watch tonight if possible.

I don't think that The Last of Us is considered a horror film...

But it IS suspenseful and good news, it's getting a movie :D I CAN'T wait.

I did not like the first one, as it felt like a waste of the idea. Anything is legal during those 12 hours, and the first movie was a rather cliche stranger in the house film. But the second looks a lot better as they are moving around more, so we may see if major store chains have merc armies protecting their stock, or private militaries raiding bases for weapons and supplies.

You won't see anything like that from the Purge 2.

The Purge films are always supposed to be small scale.

I watched the first one and between the trailer, plus the fact that it had Micheal Bay's name on it I was expecting nothing. It was one of the best horror films I had ever seen. All the horror comes from the Purgers and the neighbours.

The idea that things have gone so awry, so inhuman, so warped that has an actual chilling effect on you. In a world of Saw, Eli Roth and of course V/H/S I am glad to see a return to crushing, intelligent, psychological horror.

That being said when they originally announced Anarchy I rolled my eyes and said; "The only way they could do anything more with this premise is to just go street level during the Purge so we get a wide cut of how classes, and social sectors handle the annual purge. They've done this and they will be going across the whole spectrum from homeless person all the way up to the aloof and afar 1%ers.

I saw the first one, but I won't see the next one as while I liiked the whole premise and idea behind it's story, it's just your typical horror movie otherwise in my opinion and watching anymore of it will just sour the experience I had with the first one.

The idea itself is far more interesting in the large scale than it is on the small scale. The entirety of the first movie is a carbon copy of every stranger in the house horror movie ever. You and your family are cut off, and there is a group of murderers trying to get in and murder your family, for whatever reason you cannnot get any help. I was hoping to see a movie that had larger ambitions than just another stranger in the house movie,as the idea of the purge is rather interesting. 12 hours to do anything, so does that mean all small businesses no longer exist, as they do not have the money to fund a private army to protect their store? Does the government still protect its military bases and WMD storage facilities? Do scientists use those 12 hours to do morally questionable and illegal experiments and research? The idea of the purge felt very wasted on a style of a movie that we have seen done often before, and it did not do in any fashion better than others. I was hoping we could get a travel across the city during the purge, and some interaction with various groups.
