Satanism in MLP franchise

I am feeling so paranoid right now.

After buying the DVD, I feel like burning it in the fireplace now.

Everything I thought would be nice and good turned out to be Satanic.

I am a Catholic.

Can anyone help me?! I feel I'm losing my cool!

I'm really confused at this point in time

When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move,
your job is to plant yourself like a tree next to the river of truth, and tell the whole world
"No, you move."

Uhhhh as one Catholic to another, I don't see what you mean. Care to elaborate on what you find disturbing?

i dont mean to offend, but this is probably why you are losing your cool.

Okay, that's not fair to say. I am also Catholic and I love this show precisely because it's so idealistic. I never really got the whole "Catholic guilt" thing. Guilt based on what exactly?

What the hell are you going on about. There's no satanism in MLP merchandise or the franchise in general. Are you on mad crack or something. Because you're making absolutely NO sense. You just come out of the blue and say there's satanism in the merchandise with no explaination nor proof. Explain and prove this so called satanism in my little pony merchandise.

Stop watching ponies, go read the bible, and confess to your priest that you are having a childhood. He'll tell you how to cope with some nice rational advice (which will probably be it's OK to like MLP).

For those confused, I'm gonna guess he probably realized that Celestia and Luna are essential "god" in equestria, and not the Christian god. They raise the sun and moon, and of course there are no churches. As one of the 10 commandments is not to have any false gods before christian god, by liking MLP, it can be seen as sinning.

Assuming you're not trolling, here is my advice: Consider that Satan does not actually exist. At least, not in the way you probably think he does.

Even by Christian standards, the concept of Satan in the form of "the Devil" is completely ludicrous. The idea that a malevolent deity "makes" people commit horrible acts is one that promotes backward-thinking and, frankly, discourages personal accountability; why take responsibility for your own actions when you can utter the classic excuse, "The Devil made me do it!"?

All "Satan" realistically refers to is a set of values that are adversarial to the teachings of the Church; hence the literal meaning of the word Satan as "adversary". Trust me, nothing is going to pop out of your "DVD" (whichever season or movie that's referring to) and possess you or spew forth hellish demons.

Agreed, but as you said, not all of us. I would like to point out though, the most vocal haters identify as Protestant Christians, in my experience.

Because everyone else has already said the bulk of what I want to say, here's a bit I thought of while considering ponies and Christianity. Jesus was put on this Earth to repent for us in classic Christian interpretation, that's all well and good. But between humans and ponies, who do you honestly think the dude would have preferred to hang out with?

Also Jesus was a ninja, so there's that.

I'd eat a Snickers, you turn into a soccer mom when you're hungry :D

But nahh. Nothing "Satanic" about MLP - quite frankly, I'm not sure whether I should take this topic seriously or not. It's so...out the, it seems like trolling. In any case, there's nothing satanic about this show, and I feel you should elaborate a bit more on what's "Satanic" about it :D

Hehe, I always like those badass reimaginings of Jesus. Like Aslan, Neo, Shiva (one could make the argument), winner of the Shaman tournament (as described in Shaman King).

Perhaps Jesus would prefer to share his time personally with the ponies of Equestria, but I feel like He would still choose to be here on Earth. He truly loved us, warts and all, He would not have sacrificed so much had He not. Plus, we needed Him more than Equestria does.

Ponies are also very naked...so if you ever oggle the plot, sorta breaking the bestiality thing.

Cloppers, you're like...double sinners, maybe even triple sinners.

Meh, I'm a Gnostic Catholic, I'm already breaking many Church decrees anyway!  ^_^

Actually, there is some imagery in MLP:FiM that is derived from the occult.  SasQ has made some really large posts explaining this.  But to say it's Satanic is a stretch.  And anyway, MLP is in the same category as Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, etc.  They're all fantasy.  As long as kids are properly taught to distinguish make believe from reality, they'll be OK.

The Harry Potter series was panned by Christian fundamentalists for encouraging youth to take up witchcraft.  In response, JK Rowling asked them to identify one kid that actually happened to.  Last I knew, she was still waiting.

Gotta stack them sin points.

Well I half-jokingly speculate that Jesus would hang out with ponies because yes, he loves humanity and wishes only the best for us, but at the same time he as a person (as far as I interpret it) would probably just find Equestria easier to deal with. It's sort of like teachers in school. They (if they're doing their jobs, anyways) love their students and want to help them excel, but at the same time they like hanging out with others who aren't their students, you know?
