CosmicHooves 2,705 May 26, 2014 Share May 26, 2014 Here's a weird question: How do I dehydrate my skin so my muscles look more defined? I've seen it done before. Is there a certain diet you're supposed to go on? Is it even healthy to do? If any of you don't know could you please look it up and give me some advice? ponypowa96 106 May 26, 2014 Share May 26, 2014 Best way to increase muscle definition and get rid of loose skin is ketosis. Dehydrating your skin sounds like it would create more problems than it would solve. 2 ~=[,,_,,]:
Nulln 755 May 26, 2014 Share May 26, 2014 I don't think you can dehydrate just you skin without dehydrating your whole body. The only time I've heard of anything even slightly like this is just for like a day when bodybuilders enter a competition. It's not healthy and not something you should ever do for an extended period of time. I wouldn't even recommend for a short amount of time. ghostfacekiller39 23,860 May 26, 2014 Share May 26, 2014 Umm...that sounds like it'd be really unhealthy and I'd recommend against it all together, dude - just work out, have some protein supplements, and what not. Don't do that crap, it's going to end up being damaging to your health. Do it the natural way 2 He who is Positively Obsessed With All Things Rarity!!! Check out the Rarity Fan Club! M'aiq the Liar 5,804 May 26, 2014 Share May 26, 2014 Stick yourself in a microwave. 100% surefire way to get rid of water, as all the microwave does is evaporate it. Granted, you will die, but your skin will contain a lot less water! But if you want to look toned instead of bulked there are guides for that on the internet, and cardio helps a lot. 2 http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/vera-yeoman-r5921Muh pleb tier OC .http://mlpforums.com/blog/1663/entry-12477-pony-waifu-wedding-13-maiq-x-fleetfoot/ MLP forum's #1 Fleetfoot fan also married to fleetfoot <

ponypowa96 106 May 26, 2014 Share May 26, 2014 What would you have to do to lose skin in that area? It generally depends on the area in which you're trying to lose excess skin. For me it was pretty much everywhere, as I was overweight as a kid and found that it was particularly hard to lose a very small part of fat in certain areas. Ketosis is essentially a state your body enters whereby it changes your metabolism somewhat so that you break down fat at a faster rate. Incredibly fast actually, I lost weight like it was nobody's business, almost 2 stone in 4 months. The ketogenic diet I used was basically cycling my carbohydrate intake - I'd do about two months of limiting my carbohydrate intake to 25g per day (and the 25g would only come from nuts/green vegetables/fruits), and then another two months of limiting it to 70g per day (again, just from nuts/green vegetables/fruits, although I'd have a cheat day per week), and then just cycle the two different diets over periods of four months. It's worth noting that you can eat an absolute shit ton of protein, vegetables, fruit/etc. I was never hungry while on a ketogenic diet. And even though it might sound disgusting, I can guarantee that it works. When your body tells you to stop, keep going, because it's your mind that will ultimately make you push through it. But that's all a bit extreme. It's the best way to look really shredded, but if you just want to lose some loose skin I'd say try it for a week and see if it gives you the results you want. 1 ~=[,,_,,]:

caramba2654 602 May 26, 2014 Share May 26, 2014 Well, if you want your muscles to look more defined, they need to be more defined. That's flawless logic and there's no easy way to do it. Skin dehydration and other methods may work, but they may be harmful and don't last long. Besides, having real defined muscles feels way better -physically and psychologically- than just having muscles that look well defined. It ain't an easy task, but if you really want it, I'm sure you'll find fun and healthy ways to achieve your goal. 1 I won't be a complete brony until I get a Thunderlane plushie and go to a convention. Carbon Maestro 1,003 May 26, 2014 Share May 26, 2014 (edited) Ketosis As a bodybuilder myself, I absolutely say no no no no NO to Ketosis. Don't do that! The secret of revealing a six pack is that you have to manipulate your sodium and carbs a week before that show. This is assuming you can get a six pack before and you're on a HIIT and rigorous weight training program, as well as a diet that fits you. Realize that hollywood type six packs need a week of preparation, only appear for a single day, then fall flat after that day. I do this and it works for myself and my friends. DON'T STOP DRINKING WATER. You ever wonder why guys are flat and cant get a pump...they cut too much water to the point the body looks softer. For the 6 days until the day of showing off your abs, drop salt intake and reduce water intake by 1/4. On the day of your showing, go to a sauna (or jog, not run for 30 minutes). Sit-ups, throw jabs, and do that sort of thing in the sauna. Shower and towel dry, and you'll look fantastic. However immediately after you show the body, and this only lasts a few hours, so return to normal levels of water else you'll be destroying your body in the long run. Carbon Maestro 1,003 May 26, 2014 Share May 26, 2014 (edited) Hmm... Well, I guess I'm gonna try your method then. I'm assuming you have a proper diet though. You do eat the following, I hope? 0.8-1.4g of protein for every pound of weight (Human body cannot store protein, so you need a constant supply) Look for healthy carbs/protein foods Protein should come from Chicken, fish, egg whites, pinto beans, lentils, whey formula added to spinach (Or other vegetable ) shake to make up for the needed supplement Avoid saturated fatty foods, eat only fats from olive oil/nuts Avoid bread for carbs. Keep starches low and focus on greens like spinach, black or pinto beans (which also has protein) Keep artificial sugars low (avoid the skim milk and fat free sweets like splenda) On workout days I'm on 3200 calories a day, while on off days I'm on 2600. This plus a very rigorous workout keeps my body fat at around the 10% range. You'll also need a lot of water for most of the time. This plus what I said earlier below should get you good looking 6 pack abs FOR about...6 hours. LMAO, but when taking pics or just showing off it may be worth it. Most of the time I have a 4 pack which then I work by butt of to get the six for summer. DON'T STOP DRINKING WATER. Flutter_Guy_Dash 35 May 26, 2014 Share May 26, 2014 Hmm, Ketosis sounds pretty legit, but I don't like the idea of giving the idea of you having a six-pack for one hour. I have a naturally high metabolism, sort of because of the genes from my dad, because he has a way high metabolism, and I personally have a lot of healthy eating habits, made by my mom while I was growing up. (Thank you mom ) and I like to work out, but I have a soft spot for Twinkies and Chocolate OMG it is SOO good!!!! *Ahem* Well back to the matter. I think dehydrating your skin is a really bad idea and you should steer away from that... I don't really have any suggestions for you, other than eat healthy and work out your body reguarly to be pumped, rather than looked pumped for an hour... Eloquence 2,076 May 26, 2014 Share May 26, 2014 Stay hydrated sugar. Trust me when I say that, if the name of the game is to look good, healthy skin is wayyyyyy better looking than whatever definition (if any) you could gain. You don't want to be all flaky and stuff I also wouldn't suggest any special tricks to get whatever you're going for. Talk to a health care professional, or failing that explain your situation better here or send a PM to someone willing to help out who has some decent health knowledge. For example, myself. I'm willing to offer advice and am a student of the biological sciences, as well as a tiny bit of a health nut But yes, water. Drink it. Drink lots of it. Lateon 589 May 26, 2014 Share May 26, 2014 I don't pretend to know anything about bodybuilding or what not, but I can tell you that ketogenesis is not the best thing to be doing to your body for extended periods of time. - Ketone bodies acidify your blood, causing stress to your body - Ketone bodies are actually able to be used by the brain for energy. - Ketogenesis is upregulated once you have been fasting for 3-4 days, AFTER you have already broken down amino acids in your body to be used for gluconeogenesis (read: degraded your muscles to be turned into sugar) - Ketogenesis is one of two ways your body breaks down fatty acids into acetyl-CoA. Ketone bodies are actually just amalgams of acetyl-CoA - the most common ketone body, acetoacetate, is just two acetly-CoA molecules stuck together without the CoAs! - Ketosis is commonly seen in untreated diabetics, since acetoacetate formation exceeds its metabolism in the body, due to the body constantly believing it is starving. Your breath will actually smell like acetone! - Performing ketogenesis for extended periods of time can actually upset your water and ion balance so greatly that you can give yourself a coma. Watch out! Fun fact though, the heart uses ketone bodies almost exclusively for its energy needs!
Oblivion 20,266 May 26, 2014 Share May 26, 2014 Very bad idea, plus very hard on your health, that's why so many body builders get muscle cramps on stage is because they pretty much destroy their bodies just to look a bit bigger. You want to get bigger then just work 120 percent as hard at lifting and excercise.
