What flaws would you admit to your favorite pony having?

Well, my favorite pony of the mane six is Pinkie Pie and well sometimes she can be such an idiot. Its part of her character for the gags, but still it can be very annoying.

I don't buy the selfish thing, as she's never been motivated by that. Her actions may be selfish but only incidentally.

Hey, sometimes the flaws are as appealing as the virtues, or one is inextricable from the other.  Dashie is confident (virtue), but she's also boastful (I suppose that's a flaw).  These qualities can be two sides of the same coin.  Dashie is fun-loving (virtue), but perhaps a bit guilty of procrastination (flaw)...  And frequent napping.  BUT - another plus - her naps look adorable.  She's competitive...  Actually, that can be both a virtue AND a flaw.  Despite her flaws, RD is still perfect just the way she is.  Being imperfect is perfectly fine.

I admit EVERY flaw Applejack has. Why shouldn't I? She can be very impatient, stubborn, overprotective, impulsive, blunt... Besides, she can be a perfectionist, who tends to forget about her own needs, which must be very annoying to her friends and family sometimes. She's too prideful and it can be hard to change her mind. And I LOVE every one of her flaws. It's what makes Applejack - Applejack. It's what makes her interesting and real as a character. She's not perfect, but she's trying and her flaws are very realistic.

In my opinion the biggest problem Rarity has is also one of her virtues: Her abillity to focus.

 

Rarity has an extreme eye for detail and can get really, really focused on a single thing. She forgets everything around her in this situations though, and that can cause major problems. This ability is good for her work, but can get rather problematic in other situations.

 

A good example would be Sonic Rainboom. She is temendously generous because she lets Twi test a completely unknown spell on her, but after she gets her wings, she completely loses focus and forgets why the mane6 are in Cloudsdale in the first place.

She does not do that because she does not care about the others in this situations, but because she is so focused on these beautiful wings, for example, that she forgets everything else.

 

Another example is Look Before you Sleep after the tree crashed through the window. Rarity is overwhelmed by the great destruction this accident caused and supresses the thought of the mess because she cannot cope with it. instead she puts the books back into the shelf, ignoring the real problem, just because she cannot handle so much chaos at the same time. It took Apples to get Rares out of her defensive bubble in this situation.

 

Obsidian Sky pretty much nailed it here, but I'd also add that it's her sense of focus that does her in in episodes like Simple Ways and even Sisterhooves Social, where she can be too wrapped up in her own issues to see what's really going on.  It's part of her appeal that she can manage this while still being likeable.

Pinkie gets too hyper and wrapped up in her own good intentions like she did with Cranky. Fortunately it's always really cute anyway.

Fluttershy should be more assertive in some situations, her shyness can be adorable at times, but there are moments when she should be able to take action instead of hiding (like she did in Dragonshy episode, she can be really... assertive if she wants to). Same about Gilda, she treated Fluttershy like trash and Fluttershy did nothing about it. Gilda was the one who was a bully and a guest, if Gilda tried something dirty against Fluttershy she'd be on her own only. I doubt even Rainbow Dash would side with her. She also lacks self esteem and gives up way too fast, she has lots of inner strength if she wants too, but sometimes she is unable to motivate herself. 

 

So yeah... I think those are her biggest flaws. But nopony is perfect, I think she just needs someone to help her with those issues. In better way than that bull guy whos name I can't remember. He did NOT do great job as he turned Fluttershy almost into a bully.

Pinkie Pie has a tendency to need a hint, and when she gets one it tends to go over her head.  While it's one thing to be excited and active, it's another to live in your own world of punch and ice cream.
