REM's Shiny happy People: Is it really that happy?

Most of you who are around my age, probably know this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCQ0vDAbF7s Shiny happy People by the Alternative rock band REM, which is regarded as one of the worst songs by the group. It's been called incredibly wussy and just not a good song. In 2006, it was Number one of AOL's Music's list of „111 Wussiest songs of all time.“ Even Michael Stipe, the frontman of REM said that he hated this song. But is this really all that's behind this song? Is it really just a h

A Really Bad Day

There was this guy at a bar, just looking at his drink. He stays like that for half of an hour.   Then, this big trouble-making truck driver steps next to him, takes the drink from the guy, and just drinks it all down. The poor man starts crying. The truck driver says, "Come on man, I was just joking. Here, I'll buy you another drink. I just can't stand to see a man cry."   "No, it's not that. This day is the worst of my life. First, I fall asleep, and I go late to my office. My boss, outrag

Problem with others about Pegasui and Earth Ponies with Magic?!

This blog was not typed by me, it was typed by my friend on Ponysquare for a very good reason, and I'm gonna be spreading this around a bit because I agree with all of this, others on the RP site agreed with it, and I want others to see it, so they can get some sense as well.   Okay, so I'm going do a little rant and an observation or what ever you call those videos youtube channels like the Brony Notion do on youtube. This one might be quick and short depending on how much stuff I type in thi

Linked notice

I have a very signifigant anouncement to make: I have a tulpa!   Now, I've been transparent about this for a while, and mentioned it a few times, but nobody's ever brought it up, which seemed odd. Because I'm incredibly lazy, and you probably don't know what a tulpa is, click here. Her name's Applejack. And she's Applejack. Kind of. It's complicated, so feel free to ask questions.   Hiya! I guess Flinch's done a pretty good job of introducing me already, so I'll let him cover the rest.   S

Programming Ponysona

So this is more or a less an excuse to use my new art supplies (the half of 'em that have arrived, anyway ). Mostly my new Pigma Sakura pens for inking. Behold my noobery and tremble! :3   Anyway, simple pencil sketch (with inked outline) of my ponysona, named Seraph Star surprisingly enough, messing around on the computer. (#PythonNoob #buckyeah!)   I do not have a setup like this (wish I did, it looks like a nice starting point — I could put my pony figurines on the top shelf! ); I just

My normal expectations from MLP: FiM

I just like to tell about my typical expectations from MLP:FiM since I first watched it last year.   For the most part light-hearted relaxing cartoon featuring cute characters, good morals, stories that deliver the morals, sometimes interesting adventures and some dark, serious moments on occasion. And a lot of good episodes and some dud episodes such as Dragon Quest.   Are these good enough expectations and should I keep them?

I feel like laughing about everything tonight.

Aku, Tommy Oliver just left the brony fandom.     But really, if someone is going to scapegoat the entire fandom all the while oozing with rage and hypocrisy before they leave then that's perfectly fine by me.   We have a huge fanbase full of wonderful people that continues to grow and develop as time goes on, and frankly I know that all of the people that I've met so far within the brony fandom have been amazing people with spectacular talents!   I hope that all of you bronies/pegas

"Over-Positivity" In The Fandom - A Quick Thought

So there have been some cries of there being "over-positivity" in the fanbase about fans being very biased to only see the good in episodes and not wanting to hear the bad.   What I have to say about it is this: what did you expect?   Thinking about it a certain way, does it make sense for someone not liking the show and the community to stay in the community? I don't think so either.   It's a rather black-and-white model but this more of a conversation-starter than a closing statement on

Joke of The Day

A few years ago, the Sierra Club and the U.S. Forest Service were presenting an alternative to Wyoming ranchers for controlling the coyote population. It seems that after years of the ranchers using the tried and true methods of shooting and/or trapping the predator, the tree-huggers had a "more humane" solution.   What they proposed was for the animals to be captured alive, the males castrated and let loose again and the population would be controlled. This was ACTUALLY proposed to the Wyomi

Disclaimer on "Is MLP: FiM being over-analyzed?"

I'd like to make a disclaimer on that blog entry I did. What I meant by the stories didn't have to be the greatest to be good, I meant this show doesn't always have to rely on dark, epic, deep, serious storytelling. Just for the most part a lighthearted story good enough to implement a message. I'll admit there are a few episodes I thought were bad like Putting Your Hoof Down or Dragon Quest. There are some plots that really confused me such as Crystal Empire but It was still good and I appreciate

Silent Hill Series (Major Spoilers)

Let's Talk Gaming: Silent Hill Series   Now when you hear Silent Hill, what do you think of? If your answer is Pyramid Head or Bubble Head Nurses, you are correct on both fronts, but for only one game for one of them. We love to be scared, and Silent Hill in it's early days pack that scary punch that we looked for in a survival horror game. More like Psychological Horror, but you get my point. It all started with the first three games. Let's take a look shall we?         Sil

Edge Talks About: Fandom Fatigue

I understand where you're coming from with losing your enthusiasm for something you really enjoy. I've experienced this kind of fatigue when I was playing video games because of my increasing cynicism from what was going on in the gaming industry as of late. I've also experienced this with pop punk bands as I felt that the large majority of them were trying to replicate the pop punk bands from the 90s, and a lot of bookworms have seen how much good repeating the past has done for Gatsby. I've to

Are we expecting too much from MLP: FiM?

Now I feel like there are several members in this community who are expecting too much out of FiM. What I mean by that is that there are are people who are expecting tons of episodes with more dark, epic, more serious feels to them. But I feel for the most part this is a slice of life show with some good messages that's less stressful than other shows with some few Disney style moments on occasion. I feel like most of the plots revolve around the situation of the message they are trying to tell.
