Rescue at Midnight Castle

As I mentioned in my main blog, I'm going to be doing something stupid here. I'm going to be watching MLP, from the beginning. And I mean the *beginning*. These are my notes I took while watching the episodes. Note, I am in no way a critic. I have no qualifications whatsoever, and my primary purpose doing this is to glean any interesting tid-bits that can be used to build up the society, culture, and history of the My Little Pony world. So a lot of these notes will be about architecture, clothin

The end of Skylar? (Part 2) : The accident

Part 2: The accident     By now the weather had indeed taken a turn for the worse, brilliant white streaks of lightning could be seen racing across the sky accompanied by the almighty roar of thunder. As the bursts of lightning became more frequent the wind also picked up to almost gale force, ripping the branches off the trees and sending birds fleeing out of their nightly roosts. Hail stones pelted down from the sky, crashing against the rocks and covering the ground with a fine white sheen

The end of Skylar? (Part 1) : Prologue

The end of Skylar? Chapter 1: Prologue   It was another dark, cold night in Equestria, the leaves rustled and the branches groaned in the bracing wind that was whipping in from the north. By now most animals and ponies were at rest but deep in the night the distant noise of music could be heard accompanied by brilliant flashes of light and thunderous cracks of the exploding fireworks. The Occasion? Only the annual winter festival of course!   The volume of the music inside was almost deafeni

The Generation of Ideas: The Begining

Originally I was going to do a couple of entries about how it is possible to pull worldbuilding ideas and information from the previous generations of My Little Pony, when I realized something.   I don't really remember the previous generations well enough to do this.   I remember the first TV movie with the dueling rainbows, but past that point it starts to get vague. If I'm going to tackle this topic competently, I'm going to need to... oh god.   Weep for me, dear readers. For I am going

My Bucket List

I'm not dying, I'm still young... Why would I need a bucket list? I don't... But there are things I want to do in my lifetime. Now, these aren't necessarily easy tasks, nor may they quick to achieve. Most of these, however, aren't all that risky or thrill seeking. In fact, many of these things are quite safe, although not easy things to do.   So, let's get onto my list!   1. Create a Senbazuru (Thousand Paper Cranes) 2. Go to a Convention (Gaming or Ponies, either would be awesome!) 3. Tra

Day 100 of the ESP

The Twilight 2 was nearly finished, as i stared up at the large almost 150 foot tall rocket, i gulped a bit, if the test pony came back alive, i promised bubbly i would ride the second.   Me? a prince...ride a metal cyilender of flaming fuel to the edge of space, where if the slightest thing went wrong id be stuck out there? great.....just great. WHY did i get myself into these things? i asked myself.   "e-excuse me?" i turned and met the yellow...and slightly....derped eyes of our test pilo

Sac Brony Expo

Well, yesterday I went with my little sis to Sac Brony Expo at Sacramento State. It was the first convention I've ever been to, and I'm sure it was nothing at all compared to an event like BronyCon, but all in all I had fun.   Morning started of well enough, ignoring my lack of sleep and the horrid 2.5 hour drive to Sac. My God, people are crazy-ass drivers. When the speed of traffic is 95 mph, and people are still trying to pass you - AND the roads near Stockton are FUBAR - you know you're in

Ruby Gloom is a very difficult show to understand

We have Doom Kitty, right? So Doom Kitty is a pure black cat wearing nothing else than a collar. You see where I'm going with this, don't you?   Doom Kitty has "Doom" in the name. Thus, Doom Kitty must be related to Doom Guy. Where is Doom Kitty's helmet? Where is Doom Kitty's body armor? There are obviously demons around so that's taken care of, but that doesn't make up for everything else.   At least we understand the chronological order of Doom, now.   Doom -> Doom 2 -> Ultimate

How My Life Goes

"So you can hum a tune, that's nothing if you can't play an instrument." "So you can play guitar, that's nothing if you can't shred." "So you can shred, that's nothing if you don't have some bass support." "So you can play bass and guitar, that's nothing if you can't get some drums to keep it together." "So you can play bass, guitar and drums, that's nothing if you don't know music theory." "So you know music theory, that's nothing if you can't compose a song." "So you can compose a song,

I'll be gone for a while...

Well, ever since June, I haven't been on nearly as much as I used to be. And unfortunately, I probably won't be very active at all for the foreseeable future.   I've devoted what in my mind is a great amount of time to becoming an active member of this community. But, as time has passed, and a lot of the people I knew when I first joined have either left, or have become pretty inactive, this forum just isn't as fun for me as it used to be.   Please don't be offended by this. I've talked to a

Lore of Azeroth, Part I

I have decided this will be broken up into parts and then at the end be combined into one big giant wall of text.   ~~~     The land of Azeroth is mostly desert, or mountains. There is few patches where food can be grown, and the Hippogriffs and Wyvern, sometimes knows as the Windriders. Hippofriffs are half pony and half griffon, and long ago had they left Equestria and landed in Azeroth. The Wyvern, unhappy with these new visitors, waged war. This war is still going on, a war that never

Pure, unadulterated boredom

Well, I have to put my mind puke, somewhere, so I chose this. I mainly made this so I can create stories about Azeroth, the pony land I mean. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, check out Syl Windrunner's page here   It's difficult to get a grasp on her homeland with practically no information, right? So I'm going to make stories about Azeroth. I'm planning on one day in the near future have an RP take place there, and I want people to know what in the heck I'm talking about. So that's

After the Trailer: Kingdom Hearts 3

Me and my friends all love the Kingdom Hearts series. Because of this, we were super hyped when Sony announced that Kingdom Hearts 3 was going to be released on their new PS4. Yes, this game is only going to be single platform, which I'm bummed about. But, I guess it makes sense. Kingdom Hearts is usually released on the Playstations, so I guess they're trying to stay with the program (Yes, I know about the Nintendo exclusives.) Anyways, the game itself looks awesome. The trailer shows all of t

Infinity Blade 3?!

So I was thinking about the upcoming release of "Infinity Blade III", and was reflecting on the past 2 games, the one novel, and the one soundtrack, plus the song "Monster" that Imagine Dragons made for it. I'm a HUGE Infinity Blade fan. I've bought the books, played all the games, and bought the soundtrack. Why do I like the series? Because its addictive. If you've ever played it, you know what I mean. You avenge your father in the first game, and free the Worker of Secrets in the second. The p

My Decision Has Been Reversed

Well, you might have heard, you might not have heard that I was planning on leaving the forums. These plans however, have changed. At the urging of several friends I have decided to stay on the forums for the time being. Their kindness and understanding was the driving force behind my decision to remain here, and I owe them my gratitude.   Why did I say I was leaving? At the time of writing that blog post I did in fact legitimately want to and had been in the process of doing so, however, once

Taking the Internet, Yourself, and Your Neighbors seriously is a bad idea

The very minute you begin to take your ego seriously, you lose track of what's really important in this life.   What's important is that bacon should never be made in the microwave. Microwave bacon is nasty.   But in all seriousness, which isn't serious, taking yourself seriously only makes you look like an overbearing pair of ass cheeks. No one lives forever and no one dies forever either. Human philosophy is useless, and so is everything that follows social norms.   Wear silly costumes

List 1

Alright, I kind of fell off the horse on my last blog so it's time for a new one. Today I'll be telling you which TV shows you should watch at some point, regardless of their current status of being alive/cancelled.   1. Firefly -This is a show that everyone should watch at some point, I'm serious. Tragic how it only lived for one glorious season. Of course we did get a movie from that one season, which should tell you something about the show . 2. Adventure Time -If you're not already ke
