Rainbow Derp

Hey u guys thanks for all the replys, I just wanted to let you guys know that season 1 is not my favorite season, in fact season 4 is! I made this post to try and get to the bottom of exactly what changed from then till now... I will admit that season 1 had this certain feeling, nostalgic it may be but I still feel some of the qualities especially mythical creatures have been lacking. Along with the towns involvement, and the fact that the mane 6 is getting a little OP... But season 4 is home to many of my top mlp episodes of all time. Here's to hoping season 5 goes back to it's roots. Also it seems there will be a lot more traveling therefore world building, and this will probably also come with more mythical creatures. But along with this comes more time away from Ponyville . I hope there are still plenty of episodes focusing on the town as a whole and the mane 6's epic adventures! So we will just wait and see my friends

It is a common thing to hear bronies say... "The show has lost it's magic" " I will never have that same feeling I had whe I first watched the show" etc. I was once opposed to this as I thought Season 4 was AMAZING, I was loving all the episodes and how epic they were. Once season 4 was through I entered the pony hiatus, with not much to do so I randomly began watching episodes from season 1, and didn't realize exactly how much the show has changed. There was just something about season 1 that made it feel... different, I just couldn't put my finger on it. But now that I've had time to think about it, I think I've cracked it. It was all the world building and different areas of ponyville explored, and how every pony in Equestria lived by the fact that the sun, moon, weather, and seasons were all controlled by Celestia, Luna, and Pegasi. I guess what I'm trying to say is, Ponyville and it's citizens was more believeable, when an event that endagered the town occured the whole town would step in, and everyone seemed connected. It seems that now it's all mane 6. I can't even remember a time in recent seasons where the mayor steped in and told the town a plan or something. It seems that all the town is now is just filler for the background. Another thing I noticed, the writers kind of seem to be trying too hard to make things epic, they rehash characters and references that really don't need it, and they try to force memorable moments... Season 1 pulled this off flawlessly without even trying (It may be because the world wasn't developed yet) The epic action moments were just a plus, because it didn't have to rely on being epic, it was just good, light hearted, and funny. Also, just look at all the memes from season 1... they are still around, while memes from season 3-4 become irrelevent after a week. Season 4 did still have some very memorable moments but it was lacking that same "feeling" from season 1. Finally I think that the mythical creatures have been quite absent in the past couple seasons (Besides timberwolves, orthros, etc.) To me that is what made the show cool, they would run into dragons, gryphons, cock-a-trices, hydras, ursa minor/ major, the list goes on. That is what I associate season 1 with, the danger of mythical creatures. So thats the end of my small rant... and I do love all seasons I just wanted to get this off my chest, just because how much different season 1 felt. To fix this the writers need to put more emphasis on mythical creatures, and making a town that is believable and sticks to the fact that it is all run by magic. You guys have any other ideas?

With the prospect of Rainbow Power, and Twilight possibly getting a new home in her very own Rainbow Kingdom (speculation). How will this affect future episodes? Will there be other ponies in the Rainbow Kingdom? Will Rainbow Power be a new permanent power each pony will have? Will this effect the rest of the mane 6's involvement? Will this be a permanent home for Twilight? (The castle looks a lot like her ponyville library) Finally will this be another doomsday for bronies? (Equestria Girls, Magical Mystery Cure) I personally think that anything can be good if it is done right, and DHX has a history of doing things right. Any thoughts on how this will play out? Cause I am clueless. :/

Yeah if the fandom never existed I definitely would have never watched it. It was because of the fandom, and my friends that I got into the show, so I wouldn't watch it. But if the fandom were to disappear randomly over night I would keep on watching it for sure, if I stopped I'd probably go through withdrawals due to the lack of pony.

Although I am disappointed that Derpy hasn't made a legit appearance in season 3... I am certain she isn't gone or changed, but when I first saw this, I really thought this was a re-skinning of Derpy, but it turned out to be raindrops. But Derpy is a gold mine, everything Derpy sells like hotcakes (Shirts, Figures, etc.), no way would Hasbro ditch that much profit... and Derpy is featured in the official comic book series (which I really want to check out, so awesome! ) Derp eyes and all... and now that the situation with Derpy has calmed down a little bit, I think she will be added back into season 4. This may not be such a bad thing, I mean we got to see a ton of Lyra and Bon Bon, Colgate, and we got that new fiddler pony Fiddle Sticks I believe, in season 3... So Derpy being in season 4 will make it much more anticipated, at least for me... Because imo MLP almost seems incomplete without Derpy in the background...

Honestly I would have to say as a person it hasn't changed me much... maybe I'm a little less critical and I tolerate a lot more than I used to, but what it really has changed is my views on certain things in life... some things that I used to just shrug off, or even laugh at, now annoy me, idk it may be how well done the show is, and how it can still make you laugh and enjoy it immensely without the sex, drugs, and violence that too many shows rely on these days... All in all before this show, I was just a bored 18 year old guy that didn't have much to do over the summer... not only did it give me something to do... it gave me this AMAZING community where content is literally being poured out constantly. It gave me hope in this world where everything is done with haste, no effort (and usually made just for a quick profit). MLP:FIM and it's community have shown me that people can actually still really care about something... and this, along with the show has made me a much happier person.

alright... this episode was good, not the best this season, but good... I thought Lightning Dust and Rainbow Dash made an awesome team, all their stunts were great to watch, Spitfire was good she may only talk to new recruits that way, maybe once they officially join the Wonderbolts she'll lighten up to them, and I don't believe Lightning Dust was kicked out of Wonderbolt academy, they only took away her role as a lead pony and probably demoted her to wing pony so she could learn a lesson, possibly from RD... Well anyways good episode 8/10 Although I am really disappointed that Derpy wasn't the Mail Mare... I mean come on it would have been PERFECT!!!!

I had no problem telling my friends, (actually got most of them to watch the show and like it, now 3 full-on bronies)... but telling my family was the hardest part... I was going to tell them but was very hesitant, but one thing led to another and one day, when I got home, I had a note from my sister on my pc... yes about me being a brony, I quickly turned on my monitor, and sure enough my itunes was open to all my pony music, and my folder where I kept all my mlp wallpapers was also open... at first I didn't know what to think but in the end after I explained it, no one really cared, everyone had a good laugh about it.

Yeah like I said in my original post, I know it is very, VERY unlikely that she would get her own episode, but all I was thinking was that she needed a little redemption, I mean a beloved character that is misunderstood by a lot of people, and I just thought her being axed kinda confirmed what the people who complained in the first place were stating. I thought they should at least add a minor resolution to why Rainbow Dash was treating her like that. (not like it was terribly bad) I think she deserves a little more, she just disappeared Anyways this was just a rumor going around, I just got a little excited. lol

I know about all the rumors going around about Twilight being destined to be an Alicorn princess, and Derpy being completely axed. But at the same time another rumor has been going around that Twilight will not be an Alicorn princess (at least not permanently), and Derpy might get her very own episode. I do realize that this is very, VERY unlikely on both sides... espicially the Derpy episode, but if they were to do an episode on her, it would have to redeem her (even though we loved her appearance in "The Last Roundup") It would have to satisfy each side. What I was thinking was an episode where she gets hit in the head with something, and it fixes her eyes (temporarily) because of this she may try to change her personality and derpy ways (but fails at it) but she does make a ton of new friends in the process, in the end her eyes would return to the original derped eyes... Derpy freaks out, but everypony wouldn't mind... there would be two life lessons 1. Just because someone is a little different doesn't mean you should judge them differently, 2. You shouldn't try to change who you are to fit in... just be yourself. imo this would quell each sides anger and complaints... Wouldn't that be crazy if Derpy had her own Dear Princess Celestia moment?!

Like I said, I enjoyed each episode, I didn't find any episodes bad... (just shows you how good this show is) I loved the cmc song, "Too Many Pinkie Pies" had some real good laughs in it, and I'm sure I will enjoy Wonderbolt's academy, because I love the wonderbolts and Rainbow Dash... anyways why am I judging the whole season now it's only at the halfway point! let's just sit back and enjoy the ride!

Don't get me wrong I'm loving season 3 so far, but I can't help but feel that season 3 is sort of a step down from season 2... There really haven't been any memorable moments, the plots of the newer episodes have been painfully predictable, and for some reason it just seems a little watered down compared to season 2, almost like it's leaning more towards the little girl side (I know that is the targeted demographic)... I mean there have been some great episodes... "Sleepless in Ponyville" has to be one of my top 5 mlp episodes of all time, there have been tons of references to fan fiction (but kinda sad Derpy still hasn't made a legit appearance ), and the animation is improved... I thoroughly enjoyed each episode but imo I feel that season 2 episodes had a little more depth... What do you guys think?

I think Applejacks parents will be revealed in the Apple Family Reunion episode, like Applejack noticing her parents in the middle of the massive crowd that is the Apple family, it will be a heartfelt emotional episode, hopefully complete with AJ's own song, and hopefully a little more character development for her(possiby the fact that she deeply loves and misses her parents)... Now about Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy... I think it would be hilarious if either RD's parents were the overprotective parents that a lot of us know about, or Fluttershy's parents were dare devil thrill seekers! that would be great imo.

I love Applejack she shouldn't be replaced... Applebloom is great for the CMC, The reason Applejack is so boring compared to the rest of the mane 6 is the fact that she is ALWAYS working, what I think is an easy fix for this is an epsisode set in the winter time... (before winter wrap up time) when Applejack is NOT working, the episode must work on developing her character much more, give her a full song, expose more flaws, and give her some good jokes! and I guarantee she will be loved just as much as she was at the beginning of season 1... I'm seeing too many posts like this and I think it's time something is done about it!
