  1. They prolly watched it live. SA hasn't uploaded the episode yet.
  2. Welp, I'm gonna stay away from the OBD for the next few months xD -------------------------
  3. The thing is a lot of people have the strong opinion that the only way to redeem such people is to kill them. But like @@Tee Kay said, responding to a murderer with death makes us murderers as well. Humans have always been capable of monstrous things. We've done it arguably from the very beginning of our existence. What makes us truly intelligent beings is to be able to recognize when an act is indeed that of a monster and to rise above it. We recognize killing fellow humans is monstrous, so there is no sense in committing the same monstrous act to dispatch a monster. Those serving justice are then no different than those receiving it. Only by displaying kindness and forgiveness do others take example and behave with virtue.
  4. Your list was good quality. You should check out Shinsekai Yori as well when you can.

It takes place in a post-apocalyptic world after the awakening of psychokenesis in human beings. Many of them lost control of their power and began killing many others to the point where the human population was reduced to a tenth of what it used to be. Society regressed to a feudal and imperial system for a time until scientists with PK made it so humans could no longer harm each other.

The story itself starts out with a girl just discovering her powers but as she grows, she begins to realize the dark history of humanity that was hidden from her and other children for many years to ensure there would be no one to rebel against the system of become fiends (people with no moral compass or control over their power). This description barely even scratched the surface tho.

hmm intruging... might have to watch it sometime.

  5. Singapore is a really bad example to showcase how a strict justice system can work. That's because the country is literally a city, hence why it's referred to as a city-state. Norway isn't the only example. Sweden and probably Finland have very similar penal systems. Also, rather than looking at crime-rates (altho that is also a very good indication of how well a system works), you should also consider recidivism (rate of repeated crimes by specific individuals). In Scandinavian countries where a reformation-based system is used, recidivism is also very low. This contrasts with the US, which boasts the largest prison population in the first world (probably the world in general at that) and still has one of the highest crime rates and recidivism. Other factors beyond the justice system are also at work, such as unemployment, distribution of wealth, education and healthcare along with ease of access to either one. All these things factor into what motivates people to commit crime. As far as the justice system goes, so long as prisons operate on the ideal of making profits as opposed to actually making sure criminals don't commit crimes again, the US system isn't going to yield any long-term results. Making sure criminals don't repeate crimes also doesn't have to mean executing them. Reforming them and allowing them another chance after they're out works much better. The issue is with the way former criminals are treated in the US in that they're often stigmatised by society. Someone who's been in jail for something and has served their time, paid their dues and all else will still find it nigh impossible to find work because of past criminal records. They'll still be viewed with contempt. Afaik, that doesn't happen in Scandianvian countries (or many other places for that matter). This also leads to crimes being repeated when they don't have to be.

RvB also became darker as the series progressed, and RWBY going in that direction as well can only be a good thing imo. There were already a lot of hints in season 2 of something a lot more sinster in the works.
  7. 1. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood 2. Shinsekai Yori 3. Yuri Kuma Arashi 4. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure 5. Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni RWBY gets a special mention ofc

Ok, so season 3 is going to air next week and I thought this would be a good time to revive this thread. Let me start off by once more offering my deepest condolences to Monty Oum. He was a wonderful man in every sense of the word, dedicated to what he did more than most others could say about their chosen professions. He would be very proud of the legacy he left behind and of the people who kept moving forward. RIP Monty Oum. You will be missed. With that being said, two major things to mention now is RWBY: Grimm Eclipse has been put on Steam Greenlight, so if you have a Steam account, be sure to vote Yes so that it gets enough support for a Steam release. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=527581541 Hopefully the game can get enough support for a console release as well. Game looks to play a bit like Dynasty Warriors but I don't care. I just want a RWBY game Also, the third opening has been released: It's definitely not on the same level as Time To Say Goodbye but I can definitely see it growing on me. The animation does look magnificent on the other hand. Given how well the animation was handled in RvB Season 13, I never lost hope in spite of Monty's passing. GET HYPED!
  9. Well, for reference, Donkey Kong is country level and he's frequently beaten Rool. Bowser on the other hand is planet level. Not sure about the penguin but he should easily outclass Rool.
  10. If they were fighting on OMM, it would've been a lot better and I'd have been more willing to accept whoever wins. Being on DB, I can have one of two reactions: 1. If Yang wins, it'll most likely because of a no-limit fallacy over Yang's semblance wherein the more damage she takes, the stronger she becomes. It would be wrong to assume no limits because Yang has been beaten multiple times by characters far weaker and maybe less skillful than Tifa. 2. If Tifa wins, I can accept it because that's how it should be, but I'd be made over such a bad match up. Either way, I'll be disappointed. Yang really should've fought Leone instead.
  11. This would prolly be fun to see just like Deadpool vs Deathstroke actually.
  12. Look at the character select screen on OMM and you'll see it's clear as day who little mac will be fighting.
  13. Broly vs Thanos would end the same way as Broly vs Hulk. Except this time Broly's getting the boot. Doomsday is still too much for the Hulk to handle due to the former's regenerative capacity and the fact that it takes an average Kryptonionan's power just to knock him out. Hulk doesn't have that. Doomsday could easily speed-blitz him too. Idk anything about Lobo tho.
  14. The amount of money circulating in bronycons, which in my experience is entirely frequented by bronies, is already a good indication of how much money the older fans spend on merchandise. By extension, bronies have played a significant part in the series' continuation.
  15. Hulk would get smashed by Broly. Broly outclasses Hulk in literally every stat. Hulk only has massively hypersonic+ reactions that could match Broly, but that can only take him so far. I don't even know why people are debating this. Inb4 Death Battle does this match up and has Hulk winning. RWBY is a 3d animated show by Rooster Teeth with animation and art-style heavily inspired by anime. Some people who watch anime frequently may be put off by the fact that each episode ranges anything between 4 and 16 minutes on average, a far cry from a regular series. But it's very much worth watching and episodes are going to be longer now that it's gained enough attention that it's even gotten a dub version in Japan.
  16. Presuming I wake up as Ruby irl, I'll run around all over London at max speed just to laugh at all the idiots stuck in traffic. And with my newfound powers, I'll become the world's first actual superhero, busting crime anywhere I go If I wake up in Remnant, I'll just run around all over Beacon in a state of utter joy before resuming the usual activities that a huntress in training would partake in
  17. Well, I'd rather Yang lose if it meant the only way for her to win is SA bias tbh.
  18. A thought occurred to me. If they treat Tifa the same way they did Cloud against Link, would Yang have a chance at winning?
  19. Precisely why it wasn't a stomp. Yes, Raiden had him horrendously outclassed in every stat apart from maybe reactions but Wolverine had a hax ability along with adamantium that let him hold out much longer than he would have otherwise. The fight could have really gone either way. The only reason Wolverine lost is because he's too hot-headed. EDIT: I said that and I'm a huge fan of Roboraiden.
  20. You missed this part: And Goku vs Superman shall not be mentioned. Wolverine had somewhat of a chance due to his invulnerability tbh, and until the fight, I was pretty much convinced he'd take it due to his adamantium. I also remember people on NF mentioning it would be BS if screwattack used the excuse that HF blades cut matter at the molecular level (which is a thing).
  21. I'll literally be in physical pain watching the entire thing
  22. I thought SA was smarter than to portray a fight that should be a stomp. Then again, Vader vs Doom was quite recent. I gave them too much benefit of the doubt, clearly. Even if Yang gets strong enough to demolish the equivalent of a Metal Gear with a few punches, Tifa's time hax can stop that from happening afaik. At least there's hope for more RWBY characters showing up and by the time the verse has shown more of what it can do, hopefully Ruby will destroy the sh*t out of Maka.
