Welp. I forgot I had a blog lying around, fermenting in the depths of this wonderful site I call home. Going into this I have no idea what I'm even going to type about, but bear with me, okie? Since the last blog I did (I think it had something to do with drawing or somethin freaky like that), I've obtained a scanner for my arts and somewhat better skills to go along with it. Sometime soon-ish, I'm going to post a topic in the Fan Art forum showing my pony art progression. I don't know what you peoples think, but I think that sounds like a bossin' idea. In other news, in around one month, I'll be to the point in my life where you have to stick another number with my previous age I'll be turning 17 sometime in this glorious, yet hot, month of July ^-^ Wish me luck That's about it. If you read this, then you're a cool person. Only cool people read my shtuff

Actually, I think I understand what you're saying completely. I'm not quite sure as to how I'd do that on a computer program, because before today, I've solely done my artwork with pencil and paper.

Well, for some unknown reason, I felt like I needed to know how to create a pony (or at least something that somewhat resembles one...) in Gimp. I started out with a hand-drawn sketch that was uncolored and very basic (not even shaded). I spent a few hours on the computer and this was the result I know that the quality of the art is definitely NOT the best, but at least I gave it a good go. Because I hate coloring my hand-drawn artwork, maybe this could be a solution to my problems ^-^ Constructive criticism is WELCOMED! I need some pointers so I can make something that I won't feel is sub-par

I'm trying to give my computer art my traditional style... But I'm finding it really difficult to mimic my own... style XD I don't understand the logic, but hopefully I'll be able to transfer my traditional art style over to the computer

Yeah, I was planning on outlining EVERYTHING and then turning the pony white instead of grey... Not sure if that's how you do things, but I'll just go with it XP How I did the Gimp version was pretty much use the paths tool for everything, and then did the "Selection from path" tool to fill an area with color. Pretty simple, actually. I'm sure there's a much better way of doing things though I used paths for everything in the picture. For lines like the inner ear, I use a stroke path option, and for things like the eyes (whites, iris, and pupil), I selected an option called "Selection from path" and then used a fill tool

Well, I've been using Gimp for a little while, but never to do anything like this before. I'm trying to create a computer-made pony for the first time ever, but I have no idea what I'm doing. Here are pictures of my original sketch (uncolored and sorta crude) and my Gimp work-in-progress, and I'd like to know what else I can do/what I need to fix. PS: I'm aware that I haven't added the horn yet... I'll get to that later. Sketch: Gimp attempt...: I'm not sure if this is turning out well for a first-time computer art thing, but I'm trying and that's all that counts
