  1. I can be giant leaf guy! I'm pretty sure Spike did that back in season 1 (and Spike is in many ways me in cartoon baby dragon form), so that'd be the perfect job for me. XD
  2. Been thinking about making a YT vid on season 4, but now I'm pretty sure I'll have so much to go over that I'll have to split it into two parts. For better and for worse (mostly for better), season 4 is just that INTERESTING.

  3. Wow, there's apparently a lot more group chatting going on than I thought. If you want to add me to the Rarity Skype group, I'm game. The more talking about ponies, the better.
  4. And here's that having a sad sound from Castle Mane-ia that I mentioned earlier. Honestly, that was my biggest laugh of the episode. Should I feel bad, or is that a natural response? And to think, many of us will get to hear that voice at Bronycon in 3 months. Yay.
  5. You reminded me of this video. lulz The Italian and German ones... comic gold. Also, remember that distinctive sobbing sound she makes, first in Suited for Success and again in Castle-Mane-ia? Also comic gold. XD
  6. Well, I'd love to hang out here with you fine people for a while longer, but unfortunately I must be off. Got a con to attend in the picturesque sprawling metropolis of... Eau Claire, Wisconsin. If I snag anything Rarity, I'll probably be back to post here again at some point during the weekend.
  7. Sanctuary of fabulosity... damn. You folks have a way with words. I'm just not sure what to make of that. Have I mentioned that this is hanging on my wall? Pretty sure I did recently, but not in this thread, which is as good a reason as I need to post it again. Would this make my room a sanctuary of fabulosity, or do I need more Rarity before I can call it that? And if so, how much? (NOTE: I bought this back when I still didn't care much for Rarity. I liked the picture that much. It still made me go all like "GIMME GIMME GIMME GIMME GIMME")
  8. A few counterpoints. Just some food for thought. -None of Powell's episodes have been amazingly good yet, but "Sleepless In Ponyville" does have its charms and isn't a total mess like her other two episodes. There's at least glimpses at potential here, is what I'm getting at. -All of us had to endure "Rainbow Falls". And Rarity's part in that wasn't good, to be sure. But neither was anyone else's. Just be glad that you weren't sitting through that glorious slow-moving train wreck with the perspective of a Rainbow Dash fan. I'm just sayin'. -Powell is only getting a co-writing credit for this one. The other writer with a hand in this one? Meghan McCarthy. And while she produced what I consider to be the show's biggest dud to date (that would be "Crystal Empire"), she's also wrote several exceptionally good episodes---and one of those solo Rarity outings that I'm sure you adore. Why hello there, "Sweet and Elite". If any co-writer can reign in Powell's worst instincts, I'm betting it's McCarthy. Not that I'd bet the house on that actually happening. I share in your concern... Spike supposedly has an important role to play in this one, and I'm sure you know well of my fondness for Spike. But still... keep the faith. What do we have left, if we have lost hope?
  9. Would I pay money to see Fluttershy singing "Find the Music In You"? How can that even be a question? Of course I would! Sign me up!
  10. Quite a few MLP writers have been a tad inconsistent, by my count. The same writers who wrote my favorites also wrote eps that I consider total duds. The difference here, and you are correct to point it out, is that Powell hasn't had a good one yet. That either means a) she's due or b ) she's just not as good at this as everyone else. We're about to find out. I hope it's not the latter, because Rarity has been on a real winning streak in season 4, her solo eps are (mostly) fantastic, and it'd be a shame if all of that came to an end.
  11. Most of the people I've played MLP:CCG with assume I'm a huge Rarity fanboy. Can't imagine why...
  12. You know what? This is long overdue... it's time I came here and posted. Both to share in the love, and confess my (probably) unforgivable sins. When I first started watching this show, I didn't like Rarity. At all. And yes, it was for all of the same reasons that I'm sure most of you have heard dozens and dozens of times. I was, unfortunately, one of THOSE people. But I guess it was only a matter of time before I gained some perspective, and, well, I have it now. I look back on my past statements on her character with shame and regret. There was a LOT more to her than I gave her credit for, and I've recently realized that it wasn't just this season's episodes that made that so. (Though she has just been KILLING it this season, make no mistake.) Season 4 has added some new material, but that depth was always there to some extent. It was inevitable. She's not my #1 fav (currently knocking on the door for #2, to be specific), but Rarity has won me over. Score another one for the good guys. Good to be here. Better late than never.
  13. Flight to the Finish is a "pile of crap"? Them's fightin' words, buddy. DISCLAIMER: Of course, I am pretty much irrationally predisposed to loving that episode because it speaks to me in a way that it couldn't possibly speak to literally everyone else I know, probably including 99.9% of the users on this forum... but I won't bother elaborating on that until the season ends and I get to the season wrap-up video I'm planning on making.
  14. I haven't put together my ranking of season 4 yet. Saving that for when the season is over. But Rarity Takes Manehattan is a stone cold lock to end up in my top 5. No idea where in that top 5 it will fall, but it will be there. This episode also marked the turning point in how I view Rarity. Up until this season, she was my least favorite Mane Six. This season, and this episode in particular, changed that in a big way. And now that I've seen the light, I'm wondering why the heck it took so long. XD
  15. I wouldn't read too much into any of this. This is a kid-friendly show about FRIENDSHIP. There's no way that anything romantic, or even quasi-romantic, is going to be front and center for very long. Things like ships never go anywhere in these kinds of shows. It's the fans that keep them alive.
  16. I think I'm just gonna leave this here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWdd6_ZxX8c
  17. This is totally the kind of imagery I would associate with GTA 5.
  18. Same here. The first two episodes I saw (before I started watching it in order) were Bridle Gossip and The Stare Master. I'm proud to say no one else was ever my favorite.
  19. I have a similar goal. I'd like to do a Fluttershy cosplay, but I'd add a Shy Guy mask to it. I'd be a FlutterShy Guy. Dual MLP/Mario cosplay FTW.
  20. You know... this is weird. I've always thought of myself as a generally conservative thinker, and I find this sort of behavior appalling. What's the deal? Am I wrong about what I actually am, despite all evidence pointing in that direction? Is it because I live outside of the red states and there's something weird in the water down there that makes people crazy? Did Leonardo DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt plant ideas in my head that made me different, somehow? Are worm holes and/or The Doctor involved? I'm going to spend all night thinking about this, and I'll probably be just as baffled about it in the morning.
  21. When that guy has an 11 year old kid of his own... he'll be humming a different tune. It's not much consolation now, but it's true. We all know how horribly, horribly misguided his perspective is, and some day (maybe soon) he will as well. Glad to hear the kid is doing better.
  22. Yup, that dragon started bawling his eyes out. Seriously... that's easily one of my favorite scenes from the whole series.
  23. It's true that the fandom's perspective is twentysomething male-dominated, but the OP is hardly alone in this fandom. I know of several female fans personally, and I've never seen them get treated any differently in the brony groups I'm part of. I hope the OP's experiences are just a one-off thing and not a trend.
  24. Wow... I haven't done a status post here in months. Well, time to fire this thing up and get active again. :)
