One of my friends on a Discord server had this to say about it.
"If you view deities from a monotheist and polytheistic approach you will find that one finds a supreme being beyond all understanding and reason which must be feared while the other is about deities who are understandable and approachable in how human they act at times."
That's why I find the Theoi more approachable than, say, Yahweh. I relate to them on a more intimate and personal level because I know how they feel. As much as I respect the Judeo-Christian God, I can't relate to Him because He just...is. We may have been created, according to the Bible, as an extension of God ( presumably immortal, without ideas like sin or flaw) but we fucked that up almost immediately thanks to our lack of knowledge about those latter things.

And an apple. Don't forget that. *chuckle*
I can understand your response quite well, and I have similar views on such. I am actually a Christian myself, but I have an open mind about many, many things. I find God to be a subject that many people have opinions about, but nobody knows for certain; my own thoughts on Him may be wrong, after all, and I feel I have no right to claim certainty of such.
But that's pretty much what Faith is - it's believeing something you have no way of knowing whether it's true or not. We have no way of actually KNOWING (at least, humanity hasn't achieved it yet), and that's why Faith is such a powerful thing; it is a person's honest-to-goodness self-assurance that their beliefs are true, without proof, and their entire soul feeling CERTAIN of such. That certainty is what I believe to be what deities seek from humailty - faith and belief in them and their abilities.
... or something like that; I'm just a dork anyway, so what I say might be nothing but prattle. }:)

I see the Greek gods in a kind of panentheistic sense - they don't exist physically in the same way that you and I do; to assume such is foolish, and misses the point of Greek mythology as a whole - interpretation of the unknown things that surround us. They exist in animistic, transcendental sense; they encompass the whole of the Universe, Space, and Time. Some would say the same thing about God.

Guess who's back from Texas?

Granted, a lot of inspiration is taken from the darker takes on the genre too, but I plan to balance it out with plenty of comedy and lampshading of tropes (one of the first jokes I came up with was a bit of commentary on fanservice, with Spike outright admitting he has no clue why this happens in transformations, but they'll get used to it).

Hey. How's your secret thing going?

I'd record it on video!

If I could, I'd form a horror punk/psychobilly group with @vampireponyprince and @TheRockARooster. I think we'd call ourselves Renegade the Unicorn and the Bloody Giblets.
...I dunno, "Bloody Giblets" just sounds like pure campy schlock.

@Samurai Equine If you want to get into the Misfits, I'd recommend Collection I (basically a "best of" for the classic Misfits) and the two albums they did in the 90s (American Psycho and Famous Monsters).

Still on the topic of Discordianism, I'm thinking of repurposing one of my old pre-ban blogs from 2014-2015 or so to basically write down my observations of the Erisian Church, how I reached enlightenment, and how I apply Chaotic philosophy to my everyday life.
With all the standard surreal and anti-humor inherent in Discordia, of course.

Hey Eloquence. Your project gave me an idea: I wanna redo Generation 1 of MLP.
