    So my second attempt to create a PbTA (Powered by the Apocalypse) TTRPG group has gone off without a hitch!

     

    Now the hard part (or at least a bit more difficult): finding a willing gamemaster.

    I've recently started watching videos about the behind-the-scenes stuff on things I used to like when I was small.

    Like, for example, the level of work that went into something like Barney is astonishing.

    Here's why I'm going with a penguin as opposed to a wolfgirl for my VTuber persona.

    1) Penguins are my favorite animal more generally as opposed to wolves, which (as you know) I have a significantly deeper relationship with that goes just beyond "animal I really like".

    2) Canine VTubers are a dime a dozen. I wanna be more unique. There aren't too many notable penguin VTubers out there, which is...actually shocking. You'd think they'd be more popular, given the prevalence of penguins in anime and manga, but no.

    3) She's essentially a way for me to indulge in the stuff I grew up with; penguins, 2000s-era media, things like that.

    Incidentally, I need to get better at kayfabe, because I intend to keep my VTubing separate from my main accounts, and I am terrible at keeping secrets.

    The Way of Fire and Ice: The Living Tradition of Norse Paganism by Ryan Smith. It's an incredibly engaging read that focuses more on revivalism and creating a personal practice for oneself rather than strict reconstructionism - plus Ryan takes a very blatant anti-folkist/anti-white nationalist stance; something I feel needs to be said more amongst modern Heathenry.

    Atheistic pagan here! While I consider myself a follower of Greek + Norse paganism, I'm currently focusing on the latter, especially as I start to really hunker down on my practice. With that being said I worship Odin, Thor, Bragi, Loki, Fenrir and Freyja. In terms of my actual practice I'm an eclectic revvalist, drawing from multiple sources to find new ways to honor the gods in the modern day.

    So I'm not certain if this thread is still active or not, but hi, I'm Rebel and I consider myself a naturalistic (or atheist, if you prefer) pagan. While I don't believe in the literal existence of gods, I believe that to reduce the gods to symbology does them a disservice - yes, they might in my view be purely human-created metaphor, but they are archetypes in the most Jungian sense of the word: they transcend the boundaries of culture and become something more. A quote from the essay compilation book Godless Paganism: Voices of Non-Theistic Pagans sums it up best: "The gods are archetypes, but the archetypes are gods." Or to quote Alan Moore, "The one place Gods inarguably exist is in our minds where they are real beyond refute, in all their grandeur and monstrosity." Stories are powerful things to me, because they can quite literally change how you think about and see the world. I worship the Greek and Norse pantheons, but for the moment I'm currently focusing on the latter. I consider myself an eclectic revivalist, studying the historical record to see how the Norse gods were worshiped then and from there figuring out new and personal ways to worship them in the here and now.

    OK, so should I set my EQG/Power Rangers crossover in 2003 (when Hexagon would have ostensibly been set) or 2013?

    Leaning towards 2013, referencing EQG 1's release year + a meta reference to Power Rangers Megaforce, the first "official" anniversary season.

    Twilight is a scientific pantheist. Applejack is Christian, possibly Baptist. Pinkie was raised Mennonite, but is now likely some form of Christian atheist, possibly Jesusist. Fluttershy is Neopagan, specifically the Reclaiming path. Rainbow Dash is Roman polytheist. Rarity is irreligious, but considers herself Unitarian Universalist.
