I intended to put it off while I caught up with some other things (like The Legend of Korra and Dangan Ronpa), but curiosity won out and I watched the first episode of Mawaru Penguindrum. ... That was awesome. Captivating from beginning to end. If I didn't have any self control I'd be devouring this show right now.

The completely random imagery used in this video is annoying, but whatever. It's the best quality I've found for the Sensual World version. Bebop is the first anime show I ever watched, but not one I ever finished. Nothing to do with the show's quality, mind you - I was using borrowed DVDs and got sidetracked with other things and eventually had to give them back without completing them. The journey never came to an end for me, but I remember it being pretty cool while it lasted. About a week ago I started a proper rewatch, with the intention to finish it this time. I'm rather busy, so it's been slow-going and I've only done 4 episodes so far, but my appreciation for it has only grown. It's gone from "pretty cool" to "flippin awesome." I'm still skeptical of it being the best anime ever (that goes to Neon Genesis Evangelion, thank you very much), but we'll see how it goes.
