There was no subtlety. When preaching a political message, you not only need to portray both sides of the argument *accurately*, but you also need to do it without hammering it in. I think it was my least favorite since the first premiere.

  Subtlety would have been nice, but we are talking about a show where pastel ponies build bridges out of balloons. Not a lot of room for a full exploration of a Orwellian nightmare society.

  I don't expect it to be deep and complex of that nature, but when it comes off as being nothing more than nationalist bs then it's going to irk me .-.
  
  Communism, at its core, is a good thing. It's just easy to take advantage of and create a situation like was seen in that village. If they had portrayed the village in that sense of people being more than miserable, mindless followers and actually seemed devoted to the cause whereas it was Starlight Glimmer just taking ad...
