I don't need to watch Non-Compete Clause again to remember it's shit.

I ain’t gonna spoil anything from The Beginning of the End here for a few weeks, but all I say is it’s a really good start to Season 9. It’s better than Daze or Raze, but some probs hold it back. So, for the first grade of Season 9!
The Beginning of the End: B+
No placement in my order yet.

*groaning* Fake It remains trash. Still S8's worst episode.
-
Well, I finished it! The offensive mailroom scene remains one of the worst of the show. Wild animals belong in the wild (the copout FS gave and Discord's amorality don't cut it). The whole Rainbow Falls subplot's a waste of time. But I have a much higher opinion of it now than before. The Spike subplot doesn't bother me now. Pinkie's and Twily's were great. Aside from Rarity's encounter with Derpy, the rest was really good. And the ending is quite sweet and nice. All in all, it's balanced. Is it good? No. But is it worthy of a D+? No. A change is in order!
TBGE: D+ -----> C+
Ascends from #136 to #106.

Fluttershy looked like a big idiot falling for Flim's & Flam's disguise and trick, especially after personally helping them in Viva Las Pegasus.

The Derpy mailroom scene's still ableist garbage. NEXT!
-
Rewatching The Best Gift Ever, I'm not as annoyed with Spike's crush on Rarity now as I once was. The sudden dilemma he now has is a good payoff for sneakily trading his card w/ FS's.
-
Y'know, pretty much every poorly executed new character last season was from one episode: Fake It. The rest of them are fine. The question is who sucks more.
-
Last time I watched The Best Gift Ever, I panned it for Derpy's ableist portrayal (and impacting Rarity's side-plot), Spike's side-plot, AJ and FS's dull and wasteful side-plot, and the episode bringing a wild animal to be a pet as a good thing. I gave it a D+; with my S8 review on its way, I'm rewatching it to give it another chance.

Began writing my S8 overview. I don't know if it'll finish in time before S9 debuts this Saturday, but I'll get it done!

With somebronies becoming Pink, Fluffy Unicorns for a day, I think it’s time to play this.

April Fools is a perfect day for chaos! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

*ahem* Sorry for the late-night status, but there are a couple of quick changes: the removal of my Skype and Twitter usernames.
- I never use Skype anymore. It's slow, clumsy, buffers a lot, and takes a long time to load. Last time I opened it was, I dunno, a year ago. I abandoned the platform.
- Tonight, I deactivated my Twitter account. When I first registered, I used it while working as a writer for a small, non-profit brony network that since dissolved. I'm not a social media person, and I remain uncomfortable around social media. The platform on Twitter is volatile and toxic, especially in politics and the vile cancel/callout culture that pollutes it. You can only take so much toxicity before you have enough. Rather than let it turn me jaded and angry, I decided to cut it off and get out.
I'll be sleeping soon.

Forgot to say I watched all of The Maud Couple again recently. Still not a big fan, but my opinion of Mudbriar changed. His dry, matter-of-fact, analytical humor's really funny. And while Pinki's awful first impression of him indirectly caused the conflict, it's not his fault; he was just a bystander who got caught in Pinkie's worry for Maud. I appreciate what Allspark tried to do hr, and I think they executed it nicely.
This is a type of episode that I like less than my grade for it.
The Maud Couple: C+ ---> B
Improves from 101st to 78th in my order.

Ichiro's one of the greatest and most inspirational to ever play in Japan, and 3,089 hits later, he'll make the Hall here. Too fitting to end his career in his home country. Happy retirement, see you in Cooperstown!

If you told me a month ago that the Kofi Kingston-Daniel Bryan title rivalry would become the top WWE storyline, I’d wonder if you were kidding. Now it’s the biggest and best story so far.

Last month, Chelsea Clinton called out Ilhan Omar for accusing AIPAC of bribing politicians. This is in reply to a Jewish writer of The Forward and Reagan Battalion.
QuoteCo-signed as an American. We should expect all elected officials, regardless of party, and all public figures to not traffic in anti-Semitism.
By smearing Omar of anti-Semitism, she stoked Islamophobia within the center and right-wing and put Omar and other fellow Muslims in danger. The fact that sh she used "as an American" doesn't help, either, implicating the idea that Omar and other Muslim refugees aren't "real" Americans. Yesterday, she showed up at a vigil in NYU to mourn the deaths of then 49 (50 now) Muslims murdered in New Zealand unwanted, and one student activist called her out directly for unwittingly contributing to the hatred Muslims (especially Muslim WOC) receive while the other recorded the confrontation.
So, what did the right and especially the center liberals (a.k.a., the "Resistance") do? Unleash racist attacks on the two women. Harassed them, smeared them, doxxed them, hurled slurs at them, told them to leave America, and threatened to mob, deport, maim, murder, and rape them. The right piling on was bad enough. The attacks by the Clinton bots are by far the worst. On days in which Palestinians and Muslims should be mourning, the white-wing center gaslit Muslims, threatened the safety of two college students, and made Chelsea out as the victim! All because two brave women have the audacity to speak the truth to power!
I agree with this tweeter: You have to be a special kind of racist fuckhead to abuse a mourning Muslim woman a day after a neo-Nazi terrorist raided two mosques to slaughter 50 people! Well, congrats, white-wing Clintonites, for exposing yourselves to be as sick and evil as the MAGAts!
Now excuse me while I puke…
