I'm not really sure what I thought about this episode. Unlike what seems to be a lot of you, I rather enjoy comedic expressive faces on the characters. It certainly made Ms. Harshwhinny's character more like-able for me. I've been really sad about Rainbow Dash since season 4, heck even since before that, but the more screentime they're giving Dash, the less I'm liking her. It's almost as if someone else is trying to write her parts now? Or something that really made her who she was is gone now. Regardless, she's certainly dropped down my list of most liked ponies lately. As for Scootaloo and the CMC, I've never exactly paid attention to them because I didn't exactly care for their characters. However, to have a specific CMC-centric episode was very refreshing and I enjoyed that. I was really ready there at the end for Scoots to actually get her cutie mark right then and there. The set up for it was perfect, and honestly the let down that it didn't happen made it that much better for me. I'm hoping that they do similar episodes for the rest of the CMC this season. The song, I enjoyed the song. I usually enjoy most things anyway since I tend to set aside the bad and enjoy it for what it is. Honestly the song was pretty great. The overall melody was a little dull, but I think that the dynamic of the harmonies made up for it. It was a very constant song with not much change. It just kept going forward. Although that was also what the song was trying to communicate, although it kinda lost my interest towards the end. Overall, the episode was quite nice, and I liked it much better than the last one.

Hey, all, PuniPony is about to officially begin working and releasing an exciting and somewhat extensive project. We are going to be making an animatic series based around Derpy, Doctor Whooves, Twilight catching a cold, the magic of friendship, and the purest of love turned to the darkest of revenge. We are not officially opening up the casting call for this production (we still have yet to get the pilot out), however when we do there will be many roles that need to be filled. Right now, we are looking for a Lyra. Lyra's role in this production is an investigator of somewhat comedic relief. She overhears Whooves slipping up and begins to suspect him of being "Human" in disguise. Making it her mission to uncover the truth about him, she pops up in a majority of the episodes looking for clues. I am looking for her voice to be somewhat androgynous. Perhaps a lower female voice or a higher male voice? Very ambitious, and very dramatic. Someone with lots of character is encouraged to apply for the role. If you would like to audition for Lyra, please read the following lines (you can do a few different takes if you would like) and either post it here, a link to it on soundcloud or youtube, or email it to me at littlemissbloo@gmail.com Remember, I'm not looking for a super canon voice, but rather one that is full of emotion and sounds good. If you can both say the words naturally and use the widely accepted fan voice, that is perfectly alright. Remember that recording quality and the acting come before sounding like what's 'canon/fanon'. LYRA: "Human eh? Something's afoot!" LYRA: "Oh to live in a world where you can wear shoes without having to nail them into your feet." Simul says if you're really serious, read him a sonnet from shakespeare in your best Lyra voice. Please simply do your best. We're looking for good character, emotion, and good mic quality. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. To send your audition, either post it here, provide a link, or send to littlemissbloo@gmail.com. The auditions posted to this thread will be considered before those that are emailed (as Simul and I will check this thread more frequently). If you wish to be a part of this production, however do not want to audition as Lyra, please keep your eyes peeled for an announcement coming in mid to late January or early February 2014 where many more roles will be offered. Best of luck! Bloo, Simul, and Chromatic

Fimfiction.net is a widely popular one. And again, most of your questions can be found on that wiki that was linked earlier. Here's the genderbent characters http://mlpfanart.wikia.com/wiki/Gender_switches If you have trouble finding these answers on the wiki, try typing your question into google including the tag 'mlp' -
This has been something that has bothered me, too, for quite a while. I don't like the idea of Celestia being "bad" or "evil" and honestly the idea is old and overused. There are some stories where it's totally cool and they pull it off nicely, but I'm really tired of everyone making Celestia bad. I'm in the process of writing a story that I'll hopefully find some VAs for and I want Celestia to be nice and lovely but firm and strong like she always is. Although that being said, most of the stories that have Celestia as bad are usually like super mature because they have lots of blood and violence.

Just need a little advice
LittleMissBloo replied to Twilight Yagami's topic in AK Yearling's Writing Resources
People will probably put you down for using a similar format, but that is unimportant and you should politely ignore them. What matters most is that you are not ripping off his story. If it has nothing to do with him and his story, you're fine. There have been others who have done a similar format of storytelling, he is simply the most well known. Have at it!- 4 replies

How's my Fluttershy sound?
LittleMissBloo replied to Fluffy The Dragon's topic in Trixie's Tricks (Other Resources)
If you want to practice something, I could write you up a short monologue for you to read as fluttershy. Instead of trying to copy the show exactly, you could put your own creativeness into it and experiment with it so you aren't bound by show dialogue. -
How's my Fluttershy sound?
LittleMissBloo replied to Fluffy The Dragon's topic in Trixie's Tricks (Other Resources)
I agree! You have a very good base voice for fluttershy. One thing I would suggest working on is your emotion. This is a very fluttershy sounding piece, however it lacks her scared, shy, nervousness. It sounds like you're kinda bored. Try thinking about what she might be feeling when she's saying this, and then expressing it (or even over expressing depending on the character) through your voice. Since people can't see your facial expressions, it all depends on how you speak to communicate how the character feels. Your vocal tone and pitch are both spot on! You have the potential to do an absolutely fantastic fluttershy. 8/10 you're almost there~ -
Your largest problem was more than likely getting too close to the microphone, or it was picking up too much sound. There was major clipping issues which made it hard to understand what you were saying. This could be caused by having the microphone recording volume up too high. In audacity, there should be a setting to adjust how loud your microphone is recording (usually in the top right corner) which can definitely help. Also, the 'noise removal' tool is not as much for your own speaking quality (although it definitely helps) but rather for the noise in between the silences. It GREATLY helps when you're putting together more than one recording from different people. The noise removal isn't so much for you, but rather for the people who are making the project.
-
Above is just a friendly tip if you're using audacity! It greatly helps both the clarity of your recordings and ease of mixing for the person putting together the voices. If you're already doing this, great! If not, hope this helps! And thank you for the complement

(Planning) The Continuum

Howdy hoo! Sign me up for some Voice Acting! If you have a part of a script for a specific character you'd like me to try, send it my way! Examples of auditions and work: http://soundcloud.com/pandoravoices -
No idea! It's not my decision. However, noise removal is a good tool to use to make your voice recordings sound a lot cleaner, and help the people putting together all the sounds.
-
Do you use the "noise removal" tool? If not, record a moment of silence from 6-8 seconds. go up to 'effect' and select noise removal. Then, get noise profile, and use that to apply to anything you record during that moment. If you're already doing that, I'm not sure what the hiss is.

I actually write a few scripts/stories of my own, and I do professional voice acting (although I'm a new to the paid side of the business). However I've been in theater since I was three so it's really something I've done my whole life. Glad to be working with you
