    That's a good question. It might have to do with the fact that femininity is often shown through delicacy. For example, butterflies are often viewed as feminine creature, because of their beauty and fragility. Maybe long eyelashes are considered feminine for the same basic reason, they're a sign of beauty and they themselves are delicate. Does that make sense? I'm just kinda spitballin' here.

    Is the real reason that Seasons 3 and 4 have come under fire, because of the show's formulaic approach to topics (including repeating the same mistakes)? It's just some food for thought.

      I've got to admit season 3 actually was kind of strange not ending in a double parter episode however season 1 didn't either at least season 1 was longer but still season 4 has really great episodes I actually watched Rarity takes Manehatten today.

      I'm not criticizing the show to be clear, every show has a formula. I am however saying that it is likely that the critics are just being more critical of the show due to repetition.

      They also explain that the "Hair Spray Ray of Doom" might not have worked on Spike anyway, because he's hairless, and that the real reason Bulk and Fluttershy were the only candidates for the relay is because the others thought it was a lost cause to try and keep up with the Wonderbolts. Interesting stuff, but I think all this falls into fanon rather than canon.

      True, but it's fanon with merit. Now if only these thoughts you've found were also thought of by the writers as it may help explain some flaws in these episodes away.

    1. Pinkie Pride - My new favorite episode of the series. Not much else to say, really. 2. Equestria Games - Ok, I know this episode is VERY polarizing. If you don't like it, fine. It's your opinion, but to me this episode fixed up Spike's character, much like I feel Pinkie's was fixed up in a A Friend In Deed. Spike was stupid at times, but don't we all have our moments? Anyway, I think it shows Spike at his highest highs, his lowest lows, and blends his previously inconsistent portrayals into a cohesive character (plus, it helps that I very much relate to the moral). 3. For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils - Just like the other two I mentioned so far I think that this is a great episode that I find extremely relatable. 4. Rarity Takes Manehattan - Basically tied with #3, for just being a brilliant portrayal of the give and take of generosity. 5. Pinkie Apple Pie - This episode was hilarious and heartwarming to me. It could have easily stumbled down the path of mediocrity give its premise, but it didn't miss a single comedic or emotional beat on its journey, in my opinion.

    Below's my least favorite episode for each member of the Mane 6 + Spike. Rarity: Simple Ways (not horrible just meh) Rainbow Dash: Rainbow Falls (My least favorite episode of the show, but I still love Dashie) Twilight Sparkle: Feeling Pinkie Keen (I don't dislike it, but it's definitely her weakest outing, imo) Fluttershy: The Stare Master (again not terrible just meh) Applejack: Apple Family Reunion (the ultimate flat-line episode for me) Spike: Owl's Well That Ends Well (my second least favorite episode in the series)

    I don't know if this is out of line, so feel free not to respond, but do you (or anyone else in this fanclub) clop? I have no problem with it, I'm just curious. Oh and here's Rarity in a go-kart for no explicable reason. I have to admit she has a certain serene grace about her even in a motor vehicle.

    I very much disagree with your placement of Equestria Games and Flight to the Finish (my list is on my blog if you're curious), and I think PTS is a pretty good two-parter, miles better than Friendship is Magic anyway.

    Wow, that was a long critique. I don't even know where to begin if I wanted to respond, but luckily I don't have a whole lot to say. I do think, like you, that this is a step up from A Canterlot Wedding, but I think The Best Night Ever, while fantastic, doesn't really feel like a season finale. That's about all I really wanted to say, so good review even if I'm way less critical than you about shows in general.

    I don't like this show at all, but that goes for Nickelodeon in general recently. Nickelodeon is horrible now, and that can't be nostalgia talking, because I don't think Cartoon Network or Disney are doing all that bad right now. Sure all of these channels have their fair share of stinkers, but I don't see any good in the new Nick shows (minus the aforementioned TUFF Puppy which was decent)

    AJ has had a strong season with only Rainbow Falls, Trade Ya!, and Somepony To Watch Over Me netting her portrayal any negative reception. She also has a new running gag with her eyebrow raise of suspicion. Similarly,I feel like Rarity, Pinkie, and Spike got a lot more love this season than they have in a while (minus the Three's a Crowd and Filli Vanilli drama for Pinkie, and again Rainbow Falls for Rarity). It was a great season for all of them, in my opinion.
