My son is transgender. I can assure you that I don’t play pranks with this sort of thing. 

As far as pronouns and names, I take a more realistic view of things. Obviously there is a preference, but I am not ever one demand a change be acknowledged and followed by those that have known me for some time. I don’t operate that way and it isn’t fair to others. I’m not about pushing people away like that.

Attempted transitioning in the 90’s with the support of @Just Jessi, but things were different then, and the general reaction was .... not great. Then in short order I lost my wife, had a nasty care accident, and even had to fight cancer. I’m still here, but now I am determined to not regret life if I every make it to my 80’s. Life is too damned fragile and short, you know?

But for those that may be taken aback, I’m not expecting or demanding you change anything at the moment. This isn’t my perspective on things and I was able to cope for most of my adult life with male pronouns and such. I’m both patient and realistic. 

Also, if you noticed the display name change, you can probably guess that I have found some creative ways to get around being called my birth name since Jeric/Jerica is actually derived from my full name and initials. I’m a clever girl!
