Mostly the dark. Being deaf I rely heavily on my eyesight and sometimes if I wake up in the middle of the night I have a panic attack because I don't know where I am.

Depends on what kind of bike you want. For someone who's not keen on crashing, I would advise a cruiser. Bikes like those are sturdy and don't fall over easily (ie Harleys, Indian etc) -
