  1. It's called hunt-n-peck, not cherry pick. Not that it matters half the time, since it is just un-bloody-natural to touch-type for regular day-to-day typing anyway. Mind you, I learnt to use the Arrow Keys to move in FPSes before WSAD (not WASD, W/S A/D. Forwards/Back Left/Right) became the industry standard and long before I learnt how to write let alone type. When it came to doing the typing lessons in Computer Studies in Years 9/10 (2002/2003) the teacher quickly gave up on trying to force me to "touch-type" when he noticed I was much faster and accurate using my variant of hunt-n-peck where I mix between index & middle fingers for rapid keystrokes and my hands freely and naturally flow over the keyboard, using pinkies for shift/ctrl/alt and thumbs/middles for spacebar depending on how often the keys I hit are close to the spacebar before/after it's needed. That's also combined with the fact I keep my eyes on WHAT I'm typing as I'm typing and not what I've typed (aka: eyes on keyboard and not on the screen), since I'm faster at picking up errors right as I've typed them than I would be if I had to wait for the keystrokes to be registered by the software and system, and most errors I do end up making tend to be due to key-rollover as I'm typing as I think.
  2. Whistling with pursed lips and tongue-tip pressing at the back of the bottom teeth whilst the bulk of the tongue can press against the roof of the mouth? - Can do! Whistling with fingers in mouth? - No can do. Then again, I can also roll my tongue, wriggle my ear (normally right ear), easily do the Vulcan Salute, lock knees and elbows dead straight (actually can lock knees BACKWARDS so I lean forwards at the knees and not hips)... Mostly because I have lax ligaments. :3
  3. Which song to parody, which song to parody... #"Summer Wrap Up! Summer Wrap up! 'Cause tomorrow Fall is here!"# or: #"Summer's F***ed Up! Summer's F***ed Up! 40*Cel broils you in your own skin!"#
  4. "I am Nicolai Technus, ghost master of all technology, Version 2.85! And you, young Danny Phantom are about to be deleted!" Technus was my fav villain in Danny Phantom (I'm an IT geek, take a wild guess why! XD), I originally was going to use the number sequence 2580 ("M-E-G-A! Mega!" *warping sounds*) instead of the 285 I have now, due to my love of Power Rangers and 2-5-8-0 is the morphing command for MegaSilver/Space Silver in Denji Sentai MegaRanger/Power Rangers In Space. Technus into Technous & 2580 to 285 were both typos (adding the 'o' and dropping the 0), partially because I never saw how Technus' name was meant to be spelt until LONG after I created this name, and my numpad transposed the 5 & 8 whilst skipping the 0 entirely. My main YT account name of ElNeroDiablo is something I've had since like 2003, and comes from roughly translating "The Black Devil" through Latin (it should be "El Diablo Nero", or "El Diablo Negro" if I went with Spanish, but that doesn't flow as nicely and doesn't make a nice acronym like "ElNeroDiablo" makes END), using what I remember of my Italian classes of LOTE (Language Other than English) from Year 7 (back in 2000) along with a imagination-driven repainting of the Diablo sprite from Diablo II/Lord of Destruction (gods I bucking LOVED that game!) from red to black.
  5. Heh, I've rarely if ever been banned, and the few sites I was banned on were only for like 3-5 days sorts of bans after things got a bit... heated in discussion threads on certain topics. Then again, there WAS that one GMod-TTT server run by a bunch of teens that I got 1-day-banned for "RDM" on my FIRST DAY of playing the game after killing a T who I was right behind when they killed an Inno, and when I managed to track down and kill the T, right before I got a chance to ID him his T-buddy sniped me from a friggen bell tower. Since then I've blacklisted that server and never gone back if a bunch of squeekers can't tell through vocal stress patterns someone is TELLING THE GOD-*YAY*ING-DAMNED TRUTH. Up shot of that moron-run server, I found a good server-group in the form of Arete, especially since it's Aussie-owned and Aussie-run.
  6. This might be kinda redundant since we have the "What Are Your Computer Specs" thread over in Media Discussion as well. >.>;
  7. My response to those types of wonks: "Punk, I was playing DOOM before I was in Primary and back when you had to execute line after line of code in a text-only command interface just to install the drivers to get a mouse working. I was a more hardcore gamer when I was learning how to read and write than you have EVER been." Yes, I was playing DOOM whilst it was brand-new back in the days of MS-DOS 5 & Windows 3.11, when I was 5/6. LOOOONG before Halo popularised shooters on consoles.
  8. Team Fortress 2 - Around 1360 hours since October 2010 Minecraft - "Are you *yay*ing me?!" hours since I got it back in Alpha 1.0. Yes, I've been playing Minecraft for THAT long! Diablo Series - Easily at least a good year of my life PER GAME, particularly Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. STO - I've lost count of how many hours I've play, since I was in the Beta for it with a WinXP 3GHz P4, 3GB DDR1 and a 256MB ASUS 7600GT on AGP. WoW - Again, lost track since I've played it on-and-off since like WotLK or so. Oh, and yes, I was indeed playing the Star Trek Online Beta with that WinXP machine I spec'd out above, on 1500 kbps down/384 kbps up ADSL1. What was scary is that once I got the launcher working (*truckhorning* need for Internut Exploder it has), even as underpowered as my system was back then it was actually my internet speed that was the crippling factor in how painful it was to play in really crowded areas.
  9. I'm using a set of Turtle Beach Ear force Stealth 400's that cost me $169 AUD (including a $20 extended warranty), that I swap from my main rig to my laptop so I can chat over Skype whilst playing games on my PS3 or PS4, getting sounds from the PS3/4 over the Optical Audio passthrough cable. I'm loving them so much I'm tempted to get a second set and leave one set hooked up to my Beast Rig and the other set stays in the living room with the Laptop, PS3/PS4 & Tinker Rig.
  10. As someone with refurbished Dell D620 & D630 laptops, that port you pointed out is indeed for the docking station, if you ever get one.
  11. I primarily use an Aula "Tarantula" gaming mouse that I get a small stock of on Zazz (Aussie webstore down in Melbourne that does daily deals, no two days are ever the same deals) whenever Zazz gets more of them in. I love the 800/1200/1600/2000 DPI mode switch for if I need more or less sensitivity (normally running 1200-1600) plus the VERY helpful dedicated double-click button sitting next to the regular left-click in an area of the mouse body that is otherwise unused due to the ergonomic design.
  12. Quoting myself from over in my intro thread, here's the current specs of my main Beast Rig My back-up rig, known as TinkerRig is thus: Chassis: CoolerMaster HAF-912 Mobo: ASRock Z77 Pro3 CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 (stock clocks) RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz DDR3 (4x4GB) PSU: Thermaltake 550W EVO Blue PSU Optical: a standard ASUS DVD DVD±R/RW Storage: 3TB Seagate Barracuda GPU: HIS Radeon HD6850 1GB Cooling: Stock Intel CPU cooler, stock HAF-912 fans OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit/Windows 10 Technical Preview 64-bit dual-boot Monitor: 22" Tandy 3xHDMI input/Composite-RCA/VGA input TV (PS3 & PS4 both hooked up to this TV as well) And there's also my Lappy: Lenovo Thinkpad L520 with 8GB DDR3 (2x4GB SO-DIMM's), 750GB Seagate, Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. It hasn't been hit by Superfish, primarily as the first thing I did when I got the system was upgrade the RAM & drive right away then rebuilt it with a OEM copy of Win7Pro (that is now sitting on TinkerRig) and had it reactivate with the Lenovo key once it had been freshly built. I kinda forgot to mention the monitors I'm using for my systems. ^.^;
  13. Oh, I almost forgot to mention how much of a computer geek I am, having built my own computers from the chassis up for nearly the past 20 years, starting when I was 8 - back in the days with Windows 95 and having to install drivers one-at-a-time without USB and through glorified DOS commands. Currently, for my main gaming/video editing/rendering/folding rig, I've dropped around $3000 AUD in parts alone (not including software and peripherals) since December 2011, just to have the following: CoolerMaster HAF-932A chassis ASRock Z77 Extreme6 Intel Core i7-3770K OC'd @ 4.2GHz (42x multiplier, stock 100MHz clock) 32GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz DDR3 (4x8GB) Thermaltake 750W EVO Blue PSU ASUS DRW-24B3LT DL DVD±R/RW Lightscribe Recorder 16TB worth of Seagate Barracuda's (4x4TB) EVGA 6GB GTX780 SC ACX Antec KUHLER H2O 920 CPU cooler 8x GELID Wing 12 120mm PWM Blue LED Fan (4 pulling air in on the 932A's side panel, 2 pulling air out the 932A's roof, 2 in push-pull on the KUHLER 920 mounted on the back panel) Yes, I realise that's an insane amount of parts and insane amount of cash to drop on parts, but to get a pre-built system from like Dell or Apple would easily be like $5K and I wouldn't have even HALF the storage that I currently have and need.
  14. *Rider Kicks that damned Imagin, Momotaros out of the driver's seat* Sorry 'bout that folks, hazards of being a multi-fandom member. Th' names Technous285 ("nous" like "mouse"), and if ye be a member of BAU and fellow Australian, ye will probably already know me from there. To get things out of the way; My fave princes (so far) is Luna, Twilight is the one of the Mane 6 I identify with the most, Twilcorn was NOT "The. Worst. Possible. THING!" to hit the show, Magical Mystery Cure is over-hated and (in addition to using an awesome Beatles reference in the title and flow of the story) did a damn fine job of doing in 22 minutes more than Power Rangers has done in over 80 episodes since Saban bought the series back and started airing on Nickelodeon (Samurai through Super Megaforce). I'm a Power Rangers kid that grew up on the Zordon-Era (MMPR S1 through In Space) and has gotten fresh hope for the series thanks to Dino Charge. I'm a Tokusatsu fan that watches Power Ranger's bigger brother and elder cousin, Super Sentai (brother) & Kamen Rider (cousin). Tennant is my Doctor. Janeway rules, Nu-Kirk drools. High-hopes and low-expectations (Thanks Extra Credits!) that Star Wars Ep7 is going to be decent. Doom 3 & Doom (The Movie) urinated over the awesomeness that was DOOM & DOOM II: Hell on Earth. The 2013 remake of Rise of the Triad is as awesome as the 1995 original game, if a bit too packed with action and chaos. Oh and Beast Machines is still better than Bayformers. I think that covers most of the things. Oh, and I'm also on YT as ElNeroDiablo or ElNeroDiablo Studios if you follow most of the analysts like AntonyC, SilverQuill, Past Analysis, KeyFrame, etc, etc, etc...
