  1. I probably would have worked more, which is a scary thought, considering I worked my ass off this year. But I'd probably be a lot happier, because the coronavirus really brought the world into quite a dour mood, and I wouldn't have to wear a mask anymore.
  2. I sleep alone all the time. Never really had a problem with it. Would be nice to sleep with my girlfriend tho. I'll probably hate sleeping alone once that happens. :p
  3. Something I just noticed. With regards to country music, if it's sang by a man it's either a love song, a song about ones' country, or a song about drinking. When it's sang by a woman, it's usually about a breakup.

Obviously there are exceptions, but it's really weird in my opinion. Why is that?

  4. Not yet, actually. Unless you count mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, which I don't. It was much less romantic and more like "oh my god that person actually passed out".

    general Luck

I feel like I have terrible luck, because every time I'm around stuff just seems to go wrong. Not to mix up with stuff going wrong due to my own stupidity (which happens plenty of times too), but it's just compounded with my being the physical embodiment of Murphy's Law. Just for a quick example: was sitting in a guard truck out at a training event. An enemy helicopter approached, so I radioed it in and my buddy on the machine gun fired at it. His machine gun jammed. So I tried to get out of the vehicle, but one of the straps on my ballistic vest got stuck in the truck's door mechanism. So I shrugged off the vest and climbed out through the back seat. By that time the helicopter was gone.
  6. When it's late at night and you have to get up early in the morning and you're trying to sleep and then
  7. I'm gonna sound so much like an asshat in this post, but it's really hard for me to remember doing any good deeds simply because I feel like I do them all the time. Being in the Army feeds that sense of unity, and when I see another Soldier struggling I feel strongly compelled to help. That's not just me, of course, I get help from other Soldiers constantly when I need it. Most of the time it's when I'm obviously struggling with something, like when I'm carrying heavy bags up the stairs or being dumb and not knowing how to open a door or something. It's just easy to help someone when you're both in uniform, because you both understand that you're overworked and underpaid and hate your lives, and that's a really common starting ground. I wish all humans were like this.
  8. It really depends on the person. If you're good enough friends with the person, then revealing that you've got romantic feelings for them is a lot easier than a recent acquaintance (or in one of my cases, a long-term unrequited crush). However, feeling entitled to a relationship is really stupid, and if you flip out on someone because they don't reciprocate feelings for you then you're being a pouty child. That's not to say that the rejector can just be an asshole about it; burning someone when they're being emotionally vulnerable around you is a quick way to lose that friend forever. I guess that, if you're good enough friends with the person and chill enough to not flip out on each other, even after one of you gets rejected, you can keep your friendship. And honestly, clearing the air about that shit is a really good way to get some bomb-ass friends. I have a couple friends who I once got friendzoned by, and I have to say, now that I look at it, I much more prefer them as friends than romantic interests. It's hard, but if both parties want to and are chill enough to remain friends, it can be pretty dope.
  9. I use "that's gay" usually only when I'm bitching about work. I don't really use it outside of that, except when I'm pointing out something that is actually homosexual. Generally I have more colorful insults for things outside of the scope of work.
  10. I wear a uniform, and my uniform has my last name sewn on the front right pocket. My patrol cap also has my name sewn on the back. Aside from that, certain details that I work require me to have an identification card in full view all the time. I generally prefer lanyards over clipped cards, mostly because I'm used to wearing one. Back when I was going to college I had to wear one with my ID card.
  11. Well, MLP introduced me to the fandom, and the fandom introduced me to quite a few new friends (some of them better than friends ) and helped me be more open-minded and receptive to consuming new media. It also introduced me to some new enemies, however, and the fandom can be quite a toxic place sometimes. But I guess learning to deal with those things is a good thing too.
  12. Teacup: "Well said", or "you've got class", also a way to passive-aggressively tell someone to shut up sometimes Shocked: Reaction that tells you something was shocking or lewd Thanks: Either a basic thanks, or a "I like what you posted enough to react with better than a brohoof but didn't want to use a yay" Yay: "I like what you posted enough to react with better than a brohoof" Smile: What I just read made me smile Laugh: My go-to for something hilarious or stupid Sad: The only appropriate reaction when someone posts something sad Excited: Level 2 Smile Pondering: An alternative passive-aggressive "shut up" Hug: Only used if you're a friend of the poster Brohoof: "Yep, I reacted to your thing"
  13. My partner. Nah, but I saw an ice cream shop on the way back home. She loves ice cream. -c- Same question
  14. Can't understand why. Everyone has brown eyes. Same answer, but it was actually... shoot, almost 4 and a half years ago. We were both into other people at the time, but we became pretty good friends. My episode ended about a year ago, and she went through a nasty breakup around the start of the year. At the time, neither of us wanted a relationship, but it just kinda happened. What's your partner's favorite activity (movie, video game, etc.?), and do you do it with them?
  15. My gosh, same! But in reverse, I guess. I have brown eyes and I think they're boring, but she loves them for some reason. >.>; Me She likes to travel to interesting places a lot. Mostly to places in Europe, there's a lot of cool places up there and every country seems to just be overflowing with culture. How'd you and your partner meet?
  16. Very. Every time I see her I melt a little bit inside. She's surprisingly tall tho, about as tall as me, and I think that's both badass and a bit funny. xD Same
  17. Ooh I can join this topic now She sends me memes, lots of cute and wholesome memes from her perusing on Reddit. I think it's cute, not just because of the content, but because they make her think of me. (Eff... ninja'd) Not really that similar at all tbh. She's a college girl, studying to become an English teacher, and I'm a soldier. Pretty different, but our differences make our relationship interesting. Same?
  18. Yesterday morning the CHOP was taken down. Took long enough. Several criminals were arrested there and the police are back in their East Precinct.

I hope this shows all of the mobs around America that we're done with the bullshit. I do feel sorry, however, for any peaceful protesters who are still out there on the streets; your group and movement have been co-opted and used as cover for these criminals.

  19. People nowadays be like:

Russian. German. Italian. Spanish. English. French. Dutch. Swiss. Swedish. Norwegian. Finnish. Danish. Polish. Czech. Irish. Scottish. Canadian. Australian. New Zealander. South African. Lithuanian. Turkish. Greek. Latvian. Serbian. American.

    White.

  20. The CHAZ (Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone) in Seattle is reportedly changing its name to CHOP (Capitol Hill Occupied Protest), possibly because trying to start a new country that's hostile to the US government this close to Fort Lewis is a real bad idea.

I've been to downtown Seattle a couple times. You can hear the attack helicopters on the daily.

Honestly, that has to be the most stupid idea the protesters must have had up to this point.

Not the name change, but making a new country within a country next to a military base using resources of the country they want to become independent from. I just want to see how their anarch system makes a whole burning shithole in a couple months. Literally the government would be in all its right to cut all basic services to the zone since the zone would not be part of the USA.

Again, I'm guessing that's why they changed the name. Forfeiting your citizenship makes you an illegal immigrant, and the US doesn't take kindly to secession.

A flight of four A-10's could be cleared weapons hot for Seattle in less than an hour. I've seen those things scramble in Korea, they don't fuck around.

I know, but tell that to all the dumbasses who are over supportive of the whole thing. There's an inflection point which they should not cross, and they're dangerously flirting with it. And you know, if they were to take care of them, people would outcry the government took overly repressive measures, when they technically didn't do so.

I wonder what might both the cops and the crowd that didn't help Floyd be thinking as this thing keeps scallating.

  21. For my own sins will I apologize, not for those of my father, nor his father, nor for those of my ancestors.

  22. I'm so glad the Republic of China is doing their part in keeping their people safe during this coronavirus outbreak, and I kinda wish the World Health Organization would look to their procedures as a guideline to help other countries.
