  1. I noticed you've been in a Powerpuff Girls mode lately. :D As I've mentioned on the forums a couple of times, I've watched "What a Cartoon!" shorts recently – the few episodes I hadn't seen before, as well as rewatching some of the others. I love the two PPG shorts, especially "Crime 101". :yay: "Meat Fuzzy Lumkins" is also fun – Bubbles was always my favorite, and that episode just makes it clearer for me. :P

    Spoiler

At this moment, Fuzzy knew he had messed up. :adorkable:

Might be my WAC bias, but I think I like them more than the later series (which I also enjoyed – I saw most of the episodes years ago). I've never seen the reboot, but it doesn't seem to be very popular from what I've read.

True, but since it's the same production company and channel, I'd still count it as the same thing. :twi: And those two series sometimes clearly made references to each other. Like Quackor the Fowl making a quick appearance in "Bought and Scold".

I guess I'm not missing out on much having not seen it. I remember there was a lot of controversy about the girls' voices being recast – seems quite disrespectful when most of the voice cast was the same. In comparison, I liked how Pony Life, as unpopular as it is in the MLP fandom, kept all the voices except when the actors didn't want to take part (Cathy Weseluck, and I'm assuming the same happened with John de Lancie).

Huh. I forgot all about that cameo. :ooh: I bet PpG had more Dexter cameos and references than Dexter had PpG references. Though I know it was spread out to many different shows. Billy & Mandy had an episode that ended with an homage to the PpG; and Franky from Fosters Home is wearing a PpG shirt.

It's only disrespectful in the sense that the original voice actors were still around and still more than willing to reprise their roles, and they weren't even asking for increased pay or any kind of special treatment. Tara still had ties to Cartoon Network since she was doing Teen Titans Go, and the others could have easily been contacted. But I guess the production staff just really wanted to go their own way.
Personally, I am fine with it. I would rather their voices be attached to a much better reboot, which may still happen.

Most likely – I don't remember as many the other way around. Dexter's babysitter did call her boyfriend Fuzzy Lumpkins in "Babysitter Blues". :P And in Foster's, there was an imaginary friend who looked like Mojo Jojo, and the end credits for the first episode feature Bloo watching TV and we hear the PPG narration. There were probably more that I can't remember.

Craig McCracken is working for CN again, so there's hope! :D He's working on a Foster's reboot – a CGI pre-school version doesn't really sound promising to me, but maybe it could surprise. :kindness:

  2. Do I find this cute? The answer is obvious – how could I not? I imagine things like writing would be really difficult, but that doesn't affect the cuteness.
  3. Happy birthday, my friend! :pinkie: May your day be an awesome one! :awwthanks:

That's wonderful to hear! :rarity: I hope the rest of it is even better! :winking-izzy:

  4. As much as I loved "No Second Prances", I really don't like Mrs. Cake's portrayal in that episode. She's very rude and unlikable (and obviously jealous of Starlight's baking skills) – I don't remember her acting like that in any other episode. If they had her act more respectfully (maybe even praise Starlight for baking such a beautiful cake!) and only get mad at her for dropping the cake on her, it would have been a much better portrayal.
  5. Not really a fan of it, I see it as something of a lottery. While the value of some stocks may be mostly based on predictions, the value of many cryptocurrencies seems to have even less basis in reality. For something to be a viable currency (that's still its original intended purpose, not investing), I think it would have to be accepted by many more companies as payment than it is now. Also, paying 0.000033 bitcoin for something would feel just weird – time for a split, maybe? Does the fact that some people got very rich off it sound appealing? It does, but I think it's very unlikely to happen again to the same extent, and again, a very risky stock (or even gambling) might have the same success/failure rate (the latter much more likely).
  6. I still use the name I registered with (and have never changed other than on one Halloween), so I definitely would. Everyone knows me by this name anyway.

Going through the notifications, I noticed something I've never paid attention to before... There's a space after your name. :wau:

Now I'm thinking about its significance. Kirin are mysterious. :kirin:

  8. I've been watching episodes of "What a Cartoon!" that I hadn't seen before (one of three series I'm doing this with). Ralph Bakshi's contribution to the series, "Malcom and Melvin" might just win this for me. Eight minutes of absolute randomness, including some parts that I'm surprised were approved by Cartoon Network of all channels. I guess there might have been a reason why I never saw it when these shorts aired years later.
  9. Happy birthday, my friend! :pinkie: May your day be an amazing one! :Daydreaming:

  10. Happy Lyra and Bon Bon Day! Since "Slice of Life", they have been one of my favorite couples in MLP. They may not have been in the spotlight as much as some other ponies, but I enjoyed their background appearances (both together and alone, but especially the former). Such a lovely and entertaining duo. In addition to all the obvious ones (their scenes in "Slice of Life", the proposal), this was my favorite scene featuring them.
  11. I love it! Hasbro should hire you to write G5.
  12. Happy birthday, my friend! :pinkie: I hope your day is a wonderful one!

  13. It's always been one of my favorite cartoon series. The Hanna-Barbera and Chuck Jones shorts were great, the Gene Deitch ones not so much. I actually hadn't seen any in years, but I finally got around to watching the seven cartoons from the classic era I hadn't seen before (those ones were never in CN's rotation for some reason). And the two Spike and Tyke spin-off cartoons I was aware of but had never seen. I probably won't watch the later series and movies , though – what I've seen of them before was decent, but there's so much material, apparently of varying quality, that I'll just stick to the classic era for now. I also read Tom and Jerry comics as a kid, but I don't remember much about those.
  14. I felt FIM got a good conclusion (there may have been a few things I'd have done differently, but that's to be expected). But I can't deny I miss the show and the enthusiasm I had for it. G5 is enjoyable in its own right, but I feel I'll forever associate MLP with G4, as it meant so much to me and got me into the fandom. EqG not getting a proper ending was really disappointing. But I know we'll never get one at this point.
  15. The oldest living person I see somewhat often is 75. Out of people no longer alive, the oldest I've known lived to be 97.
  16. Happy birthday, my friend! :pinkie: May your day be a wonderful one!

  18. You're a Foster's fan? :pinkie: I loved it back in the day (though I admittedly haven't watched it much in years)! The second best show Lauren Faust was involved in. :D I especially liked Bloo, and later in the show, Cheese (something about his randomness appealed to me). :ButtercupLaugh:

The part of the show I remember best has to be this song, though. I especially love Fluffernutter on the backing vocals. B)

My favorite episode was when The Prince Charming imaginary friend falls in love with France and so did Mac and Bloo so they tried to impress her and Orland Bloo with his mustach was talking about his one bazillion dollars and how he goes to bazillionaire school, etc. XD oh gosh, I gotta watch that again sometime. It'll definitely cheer me up a bit <3

That was an awesome one! "A spoon can't pick up a steak."

I might have to give it another watch someday – there's a lot of stuff I've probably forgotten in all these years. And I imagine that would be quite a nostalgic experience. :rarity: It's hard to say which one was my favorite (there were so many great episodes), but "World Wide Wabbit" would be pretty high on my list (the one where Mac and Bloo upload Mr. Herriman's Funny Bunny dance online).

It's not really a Tacodidra post when there's no Coco. :coco: You're welcome, my friend! :yay:

  20. Terrible news. My condolences to her family and friends. While I may not have known her quite as well as some others did, I know her contributions to the community were very significant, and the interactions we had were good. She won't be forgotten!
  21. That's good to hear! I hope you get more good news on Tuesday!
  22. There are a lot of great artists in the fandom... But my absolute favorite has to be VinilyArt. Call me biased, but any artist that draws Coco Pommel will get my appreciation – VinilyArt is the most prolific Coco artist at the moment, and all of their art is amazing! Not only does it capture Coco's cuteness so well, but also often gives her different styles and costumes, all of which suit her so well. Look at this drawing, for example. Just lovely! Another favorite is Uotapo who might have the most adorable art style in the fandom – and again gets points for drawing favorites that are often overlooked (especially Ocellus and Smolder)! I'll also give additional mentions to Cyan Lightning and HowXu.

I had ideas for "themed avatar days" but that's about it. :ooh:

I guess we're kind of doing that for Trixiependence Day now, BFFFF! 2068914.png It felt like the right thing to do, as she was one of the most important characters not yet represented on my avatar.

I wonder if anyone else will join us with a similarly great and powerful avatar...

  24. I remember making one at school. It was hand-drawn and only went back three generations if I remember correctly. Some of my relatives have done more detailed research on the family – one side even made a book about it, the other never got it finished despite having information going back to the late 16th century.
  25. Happy birthday, my friend! :pinkie: I hope your day is a wonderful one! :mlp_yeehaa:
