    567 x 720 is at least three times larger than the biggest thing I ever made. Think I could I get away with 360x288 (scaled up of course) and go for a low-res style that I've been using all along? And does it have to be portrait style instead of landscape? I don't wanna disqualify myself for being that silly to not make something in portrait style.

Incredibly hard to describe how it exactly makes me feel the anatomy isn't right, but I could point out the blue pegasus' back right leg, both of their faces Color choice for your OC's. Vivid blue and red doesn't quite go with the colors for the background, does it, and it makes them feel out of place. Aimless shading. The background makes me think that there is a CLEAR light source coming from the sun. Looking at the OC's however, there's apparently a light source coming from the opposite direction, which makes it comfusing.

    Cool, thanks for the help. I wonder if I should go for a background though... I think I should take the entire week on something big, but not sure if worth the trouble considering that there WILL be competitors. I think I'll make the most out of my forté... hair *pokes celestia avatar* Btw, anyone know the 'right' size in pixels, or can I make anything that happens to have the right aspect ratio? Since I'm working with pixel art, I don't wanna cause issues if by accident I win and the art quality goes to crap because of scaling issues.

    Jpegs or PSD files? This is a discriminatory restriction against poorer pixel artists!

    Unless you wanna make something that looks like it was directly copied from a screenshot (in that case, go vector), this is pretty superficial. Just try both and see what's more comfortable for you.

    The prizes are in a virtual currency that's only useful for things related to deviantART, such as buying premium membership or other merchandise from dA, or commissioning artists who happens to accept this currency. With that considered, I can't do much with points, except maybe flex my social muscle within deviantART, which is kind of what I did here.

    Considering how there are very few brony pixel artists, I would be surprised if somebody actually come along and beats me. The contest which this is for has a category for just pixel art xD Since I'm co-founder of the group though, I added that if I win it, the prize would go to the runner-up.

    I don't even think Equestria has a coherent language/writing system. The writing system is different in other places, so chances are good that nobody gave the time to give Equestria its own conscript as producers are only coming up with random styles that looks like writing. That, and as for the funny typewriter, I would think that they put only three keys to save time. Really, why spend so much time drawing so many little keys?

    I've done full-body works before (like this one: http://fav.me/d51qa68), but never one made to be used as an avatar. I am most likely going to charge a different price because it takes a lot more effort doing a full-body compared to doing a portrait. EDIT: I might be confusing myself. You want a full-body but not necessarily an avatar, right?
