  1. Finally released my novel-length fanfic, Equestrian Elite: Tartarus Infernum! http://www.fimfiction.net/story/47199/Equestrian-Elite:-Tartarus-Infernum

  2. Hey there, friends. I have finally released the epic novel-length story I have been working on since May! http://www.fimfictio...rtarus-Infernum Clocking in at 167k words with five colored illustrations, I’ve given everything I have to this story, and I sincerely hope you enjoy it! I have even made a slew of background music tracks (edited and extended versions of epic orchestral themes and some OSTs) to enhance the reading experience. Thank you for your time, and I hope you enjoy Equestrian Elite: Tartarus Infernum!
  3. So, on the canon map of Equestria (visible on the wiki here) we see that the city mentioned by Rainbow Dash in "It's About Time" is spelled "Los Pegasus". Sourced and mentioned by the wiki (on the same page, scroll to here) one of the writers mentioned that the city was meant to be a play on Las Vegas, which most of us probably figured. Then this map comes along and throws us for a loop! My question to you guys: do you think that "Los Pegasus" was a typo, or a misinterpretation by the artist who designed that map? It seems that the artist intended for the city to be a play on Los Angelis (hence the Applewood sign) while the show's writer intended for the city to be a play on Vegas. I'd say that the show's writers trump the canonical authority of its artists, right? Speculate with me, friends.
  4. It's probably kind of a given that My Little Dashie made me cry; I'd say more than half of its readers probably did. There's an awesome fic here (if FIMFIction will load for ya) of a young Dash and Fluttershy when they first met at summer flight camp, it really jerked a few of my heart strings too. Also, both of Mindblower's fics, Envy & Arrogance and Guilt & Have have made me tear up at certain points. This'll sound a bit self-serving of me, but even my own fic (not released yet) has made me cry when going through and editing it. I wouldn't say I'm much of a softie in general, maybe a little bit for ponies, but otherwise I don't cry much. Few other things have made me actually cry; Dom's scene with his wife in Gears of War 2 made me cry, and a few movies have as well, but other than that I'd say ponyfics are one of the hardest hitting things when something sad happens.
  5. I can't say I'm surprised, to be honest. If you're going to make pony love plushies, don't go and publicize it. Seriously. Just say "I take R34 plushie commisions" and keep everything else under wraps. Sure, I've had my fair share of making fun of the Lyra plushie, it was practically a meme on tumblr. Just don't take credit for making it and you'll be fine...
  6. If you ask me, there's a time and a place for both. Online friends are awesome, but chances are, you'll rarely (if ever) see them in person. Sure, you can webcam with them, you can play video games with them and such, but they're still not actually there. It's an insufficient substitute for live human contact imo. I love all my online friends but I still wish they lived next door instead of states/countries away. That said, unless you live with them (which is often not the best decision) you won't be able to access your best RL friends with the click of a mouse. Online friends have the convenience advantage. Still there a slew of things you can do with RL friends that you simply can't do with internet friends, and playing video games with them in the same room is a big one for me. That, and well, paintballing, hiking, camping, going to amusement parks, etc. TL; DR: Speaking from experience, having a few best friends from both the internet and real life can really complete you.
  7. I dislike it when bronies say they "hate" stuff. You're doing it wrong, imo.
  8. Solo'ing Kael'thas with my hunter in World of Warcraft. Not the Magisters' Terrace Kael, but the Tempest Keep Kael. That's got to be the single hardest video game encounter I've ever done Now if I ever actually manage to solo the Twin Emperors in AQ40 with my hunter, I'll let you know, because that'll take over as being the hardest thing I've ever done in the history of forever
  9. This is something I often wonder about. Personally I don't like smoking, but I love the idea of getting buzzed. I think Pinkie would make some awesome cupcakes with it though !
  10. I've successfully broken my sleep schedule again.

  17. Chillin here in NJ, bout to go pick up my badge for BronyCon. Afdahgfskjdfaskdfjgasjgfsdfexcited.

  18. http://sourcefilmmaker.com/ I see great potential in this. Very, very great. The same program Valve used to make so many of their cinematics is going to be freely available to us. It says it'll just be TF2 at first, so depending on how that works, we may have to wait a little. But eventually, add the Gmod ponies that our fanbase has been steadily churning out, and make epic things from there. Can't wait to get my claws on this. Anyone else see where I'm coming from here?
  19. Adventure is definitely my favorite, particularly epic adventures. I REALLY love the episodes where we got to see our favorite ponies kicking butt, especially at the royal wedding, so that explains my choice haha. After reading a couple of adventure fics it inspired me to write the one I'm currently working on!
  20. Awesome! I just sent an e-mail to everyone that e-mailed me, and I also PM'd all of you who replied. If any of you guys write as well, PM me your stories so I can add them to my to-read list as soon as I get some spare time Thank ya much!
  21. Sweet, I've gotten a few e-mails already. Thank you guys, you all rock! I'll send out a reply with details in a day or so here!
  22. Hey all! I've been dedicating a pretty good chunk of my summer to writing/illustrating a novel-length fan fiction, and I'm looking to find a couple of pre-readers that are interested in reading it before I publish it, so I can get some feedback from a fresh pair of eyes. I'm also considering help with the illustrating, but I'll talk about that later. The fic's title is Equestrian Elite: Tartarus Infernum. If you're interested, I'll tell you a little about the fic. It's largely an epic fantasy adventure, with a few sci-fi elements as well as some downright scary moments. If it were a movie, it'd probably be rated pg-13 for the action scenes and the dark elements. With that said, however, I'm doing as much as I can to keep true to the portrayal of the characters. I also have a background music system for the fic as well, if you've read Mindblower's fics (Envy & Arrogance, Guilt & Hate) you may be familiar with how that works. Story Let me set the stage for you; remember in "It's About Time" when the three headed dog, Cerberus, came to Ponyville, and Twilight mentioned that he is the guardian of the Gates of Tartarus, where all kinds of "ancient evils" are imprisoned? That's the primary focus of my story--when Cerberus goes missing yet again, Celestia takes matters into her own hooves and goes to investigate, only to be caught in a cataclysmic explosion as the gates are blasted open. Did I mention I'm also illustrating the fic? Here's a sneak peek of what I just described. It's not final but feedback's welcome: The ancient evils that are set free pose the greatest threat in Equestrian history. Celestia then hurries to assemble a team of defenders--spearheaded by the Elements of Harmony--to meet these foes head on. She would come to call this team the Equestrian Elite. I'd compare the epicness and scope of the adventure to something like Lord of the Rings. It has a lot of good guys, a lot of bad guys, and a number of wildcards in between. Characters The Equestrian Elite are eighteen in number. I've already mentioned that the main six will be spearheading the team, and Princess Celestia will be a part of it as well. Other members of the Elite that we all know and love will include Princess Luna, Princess Cadance, Shining Armor, the Wonderbolts Spitfire and Soarin', and another surprise character that has been mentioned but (sort of) never been shown in the series. The remaining five characters will be a diverse set of OC's. Two of them will come from obscure backgrounds, while the remaining three will fill unmentioned roles from other parts of the canon universe. For instance, one is a battle-hardened trainer of the royal guard (Shining Armor's original drill sergeant), and another is a skilled celebrity hero from Appleloosa--the five times grand champion of the national Canterlot rodeo competition (the winner of most of the blue ribbons Applejack hoped to win in "The Last Roundup"). Villains As for the 'ancient evils' of Tartarus, there will be a pretty diverse host of villains as well. All of them will be OC's. Some will be massive and powerful, and some will be strong simply because they're large in number. But the most dangerous ones will be normal ponies with some really dark powers. One villain from the series does make an appearance, but I won't spoil which! Pre-Readers Hopefully some of y'all are interested in pre-reading this for me! Optimally, I'll need two or three pre-readers. I'm looking for you to provide me with some constructive feedback on each chapter. I'm not an English major but I'm a grammar nazi at heart, so you'll be reading something that's been spell-checked and grammar-checked with laser precision. My schedule is to have the first draft finished by the end of this month. Once I've finished the draft, I'll send it to the pre-readers and they can start to provide feedback, while I start touching it up for the final copy. So, this notice is two weeks in advance! Unlike a lot of fan fictions, I'm not writing and publishing the story chapter-by-chapter. I'm really glad I didn't do this, because I've gone back twice now and changed a lot of things in previously written chapters. I plan on finishing it all at once, which is partially why I need pre-readers to ensure it turns out well. I'm going to be using Google Docs for the pre-reading feedback process, so the only big requirement of being a pre-reader is to have a Google account so I can authorize you as a reader. That, and, well, have a love for MLP and epic fan fiction, haha. Illustrators As for the illustrations, I'm currently uploading some of them to my deviantART page which I'll link below. If you're good at making vector traces (preferably in Adobe Illustrator), and you want to help me with the illustrations, let me know. I'm a bit picky of how I want the illustrations to turn out, but that doesn't mean I won't want help--some of the images take 8-12 hours for me to do on my own. With that being said, I may actually publish the fic without some of the illustrations and add them in later, but only if they end up taking too much of my time. If you end up helping me with the illustrating, you'll be granted the same access as a pre-reader and any feedback you have will also be welcome! http://sunderbraze.deviantart.com/ TL;DR WOW, that was a mouthful. Hopefully I didn't scare anyone away, lol. Here's a little TL;DR. I'm making an epic fic, and I need a few people to pre-read it for me when its first draft is done in roughly two weeks. Also looking for vector artists that might wanna help me do some tracing work. Interested? If you're interested, drop me an email-- it's my username at gmail.com. Please put 'Pre-reader' or 'Illustrator' in the subject line, tell me a little about yourself, and I'll get back to you in a day or so with details about everything. Everyone that assists me will be given due credit wherever the story is posted--here, FIMFiction, GDocs, deviantART, possibly Wattpad, and if it makes it, EQD as well! Thanks for your time everybrony! I'm trying to have this fic completely finished and published by the first week of July. Cheers
  23. Hey all. Sunderbraze here. For anyone who missed my introduction post, I'm primarily a fanfic author, and as I'm working on my current fic I find myself with a few questions regarding the show's grammar. Part of this is Microsoft Word being belligerent, but it raises an interesting question: Tl;dr: What are the proper capitalization rules regarding “Pegasus” and “Unicorn”? MS Word seems insistent that “Pegasus” be capitalized, while it seems fine with “Unicorn” being lower case. I theorize that Word is assuming I’m referring to the creature of Greek mythology, which was not the name of a race, but the proper name of the creature himself: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pegasus “Unicorn” does not seem to refer to any specific creature, but instead a mythological race of creatures. In the MLP universe, as we all know, the “Pegasus” or "Pegasus pony" is the name of a race of ponies, as well as “Unicorn” and “Earth Pony”. Normally when faced with a question like this, I’d check the MLP Wiki. However, they both display inconsistencies in the capitalization of the terms, and neither have rules about it: http://mlp.wikia.com.../Pegasus_ponies http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Unicorns Capitalization with a fictional race appears to be a grey area. In Star Trek, it seems that the “Klingon” is always capitalized, while in Harry Potter, “house elves” are a race of creatures that are referred to in the lower case: http://harrypotter.w.../wiki/House-elf http://en.memory-alp...rg/wiki/Klingon So I now ask the community here, what do you think the rules should be? I don’t have a degree in English—anypony who does, are there rules about this? Thanks all <3
  24. Wow, I come back to all this welcoming. You guys rock! Ty much!
