  1. https://www.equestriadaily.com/2023/01/new-g5-my-little-pony-equestria-girls.html I am oddly intrigued, these dolls actually look good especially Zipp in my opinion. They also have leg joints, yay, but I really hope that there is a Hitch doll or there will be war.
  2. Exactly, Zipp liked solving problems. Math problems, as it seemed that's what they alluded to at first. This was before the comics, TYT, and MYM solidified their change to make her a detective instead, wouldn't it make more sense for Hitch to be a detective? I don't (maybe) disagree with detective Zipp, but I was excited to see that she was an athlete who loved physics. They did have a mini fight when they were having the sand-building contest. At the beginning I'd say it was just quarreling, but why would the crystal cause a storm? It makes sense for their magic to weaken, rather than the crystal kill ponies by engulfing them in a giant black hole. (So much for unity) Woops sorry
  3. The part about Zipp randomly becoming a detective is something I think is valid. There was this handbook that was put out and listed under Zipps hobbies it said she enjoyed "Physics and Math" As well as in the movie behind her is a bunch of equation mumbo jumbo. On your devientart page number 5 is completely valid however in your opinion shouldn't the wendigoes have appeared in MYM when the ponies were arguing with each other? In my opinion the movie isn't as good as people say it was. It's a great start and set my expectations a little high, but they took out so many good ideas and it falls into tropes at the end. The 8 episode format doesn't help G5 at all. They need to use TYT for filler and MYM for the lore. What exactly are the writers planning to do with Sprout? I'm aware he's not a main character but it's weird to not have him as a background character. Especially since he's getting his own comic? For Sunny supposedly being the main character she doesn't seem like it, in the MYM special she didn't even bother to listen or believe what Zipp was saying. She should've been a historian or something like her father. (Example, it seemed like Sunny knew a lot about Twilight) Speaking of comics, I don't read the comics, (I get a synopsis from someone on YT) I don't watch every single TYT episode. And some of the stuff in them seem to be canon, but how would anyone know if it's never mentioned in the main show? Also do the comics depict future events? Will discord be in G5? (show) Hitch doesn't feel like he did in the movie. He's was depicted as a confident and rational leader, however he lacks those traits and seems more awkward. MYM chapter 1&2 feels similar to pre-school shows. Yes, MLP is for kids but shows like Trollhunters, Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, Chaotic, Adventure Time, don't treat you like a baby. Compare the dialogue in those shows to MYM. There's a difference. TYT episodes should take place somewhere other than Mare-time Bay
  4. I had a feeling we'd see Misty in the episodes, I hope she isn't treated like a joke for long. Also, why was the episode lowkey the exact same as episode 8. Why couldn't the episode just be about Hitch spending with his annoying child? With Misty stalking them...
  5. I wasn't exactly excited for the series, MOSTLY because it would be following this new format of having short episodes (barf) but I expected it to be really awful. I'm not surprised that it was decent, however I haven't finished it all but overall it's a 3/10. And that's the highest it deserves. Enjoyed the second episode, it graced me with Sprouts presence. I also really love Misty, she is so cute it's giving me cavities.
  6. Title, but this also brings up the question. If Sunny, supposed to be the next Princess of friendship. What about the other roles, sun/moon, love?
  7. Could be both, but I lean towards the fact that it's an animation error (style, whatever) because Twilight has already been in some of the G5 comics. Though she did have royal attire on :I. Could just be a style change or laziness. Like how they got rid of Sunny's braid, even though that was like a staple for her character design. (in my opinion)
  8. Or maybe it's just the G5 art style? She looks slightly softer than Opaline, but it's hard to tell considering she's a hologram.
  9. Unpopular opinion, but I think it's fine for G5 to be a sort of continuation of G4. The writers just needed to do a better job at making sure the story flows well.
  10. The animation was really great, especially the music montage, but the cast annoys me more and more.
  11. Personally, I hate the idea of a constant villain. They're usually not written well and fall into many tropes. The best constant villain I've seen so far was Lotor from Voltron. As long as g5 do that with Opaline, I'll be fine. I can't help but feel like though Opaline will fall into the "Do my bidding my goons." Until she finds a reason to reveal herself, or the mane 5 figure her existence out on their own. Considering the first time we see her sees watching the ponies through a TV. Trope number 1...
  12. The beginning was okay, but something about this feels poor. I'm just not really into the idea of quilts foreshadowing Sunny's future. It just brings up more questions that I doubt the writers for G5 will answer. And why would they be hidden in such obscure places? OR even strange places for that matter. This feels like the writers are jumping off the idea of the connection/bond the mane 6 had with each other. With the rainboom and all. But this just feels lazy. Which has nothing to do with the 5 minute run-time, but if the show is going to bring up lore it should do that in the series.
  13. Not really, I'm more interested in the comics. But it'll be great to watch if I'm bored.
  14. The "My Bananas" musical number, is something I wish I never heard. I wish I could travel from the future just to tell myself, "don't do it." What were the people behind the music production even thinking??? The high pitched "My bananas." Followed by a disgustingly low "My bananas." Are you kidding me? And then it goes "na na na na." Like we're in some one direction musical. Why do TV shows always make weird meme jingles, THEY NEVER WORK. And I thought the pony ony ony tune was bad.
  15. Personally I liked where G5 was going but there's a LOT of things I would change, starting with the characters. I would keep Hitch, Pipps, and Izzy design. They make great contrast color wise. I would like for Sunny to keep that steam punk look, and for Zipps hair to be rather dark purple and blue, with really light purple fur. (Almost lavender) In the older designs Zipps red, blue, purple and Hitch's electric blue is almost too much. And Zipp and Sunny's color's would be too similar. For their personalities. I don't know how and why Sunny is the main character, she has so much wasted potential. Her personality can go two different ways. She takes after her father in learning about old equestrian magic, making her a historian. Or she can be an inventor. (Or she can be both, but I need to save some personality for the other characters) For Izzy, she's way to similar to Pinkie Pie. And in these recent TYT episodes she's really annoying and an awful character. I'd would give her whatever personality Sunny has (and just make her really zen too) I don't mind Izzy a bit ditzy. For Sprout, which I'd say he can do no wrong. But his character is a little confusing, instead of being a coward perhaps, he's just not liked by many ponies because he's mean and lazy. For Zipp, which I'm not a big fan of Zipp. She's just so bland. I'm not jiving with the whole "I don't wanna be a princess wah." Other than hearing that trope a gazillion times, I think Zipp should be honored because princesses were really important in G4 lore. I think she should have a rebellious personality for this reason, but like in a good way. She can still get a long with Hitch this way without her just wanting to be a lousy detective. And speaking of Hitch, he's fine in my opinion and so is Pipp. However If I had the energy I would consider changing their names and cutie marks, but it's whatever. Worldbuilding- So, it kinda makes sense as to why dragons are nowhere to be seen. No magic, means no dragons can fly. (Probably) And why the world seems so flat. However, there's a lack of abandoned building, or even just artifacts. There was only one scene in the movie showing an abandoned place, but I think there should be more. Zeypher Heights The Pegasai should be living in a fallen city, like hello. Why are they still living on mountains? When magic disappeared they all would've fallen from the sky, including their city. I think the should've adapted to living on the ground. And this could've probably started a bit of anarchy so they form a monarchy. Bridlewood I wish it was more of a city type of setting, (think of New York) the ponies are really mean and snobby which still makes Izzy stand out tbh. Unicorns were the biggest magic users, I'd feel like they adapt to technology if given the chance. Maretime bay I like the setting for it, it's a nice mixture of technology and primitive landscaping. However I'd get rid of the unicorn traps, and add more deputies. And if the Earth ponies really fear Unicorns and Pegasai, they should just build a wall around their country. (Like in one of the original plots) Story Sunny, inspired by her father goes out to find Unicorns or whatever to prove that they're really nice. Hitch figures out about this plan because Sunny would be dumb enough to leave a note saying she's going to prove Unicorns and Pegasai are truly nice. So Hitch warns his community and goes out to stop Sunny from getting hurt. By the time he's doing that Sunny's already out and she finds Izzy (Or Sunny gets lost and Izzy helps her) excluded from her own society and they sing a song about being left out from society from how different they are. They befriend each other and idk Sunny asks Izzy if she has magic and she's like. "lol no." So this gives Sunny a new motivation to bring back pony kind by restoring magic. (Because she knows Twilight, the whole friendship is magic thing.) So Izzy and Sunny go find the Pegasai to befriend them but they get arrested and threatened to be executed. Zipp comes in and frees them but risks her own safety because the people did NOT like that. While they're on the lam that's when they discover the crystals and blah blah they go on a theft mission.. Either way Pipp is sent out by her mother to interrogate Zipp because they want to know who freed the criminals. This gives Pipp a real opportunity to decide if she's okay with the existence of Unicorns and Earth ponies. Zipp, I mean Pipp agrees and Pipp holds a concert to distract everyone from the crimes that are going to be committed. Meanwhile in Maretime Bay, Sprout prepares to wage a war. And Hitch finds his way in Zephyr Heights because Sunny has a littering problem. He runs into Sunny telling him to run because they're probably going to be killed. (Oh and they have the crystal) Then they run off to Bridlewood to get the crystal. Instead of Sunny playing DDR for a crystal, Sunny has to trade something valuable to her for the crystal. Which she does lol. (Of course before this they sing their little Unicorn song.) But Alphabittle watches the news and sees that there are Earth Pony criminals out on the loose. (Don't ask me why Unicorns have Pegasai oriented TV stations, they just do.) And he recognizes Sunny, and Zipp, and Pipp, and maybe Hitch. Blah blah, the Pegasai arrive at Bridle wood and the Unicorns are not happy. Sunny gives a dumb speech, slaps the crystals together. It doesn't work. It makes the Unicorns and Pegasai even angrier. Cue, the ending from the movie and bam. Including the fact that Sprout did not apologize because...For the 44 minute special it's just the stuff in "A maretime bay adventure." Near the end the Earth ponies DO get magic. (But they don't realize it) Sprout apologizes of course, and instead of a random Alicorn, it shows the rise of I guess griffions and dragons and all those mystical creatures. Other changes -The crystal doesn't respond to small arguments between pony tribes, instead it does if it's only on a really big scale. -They have cutie marks on both sides of their flanks -They don't grab things with their hooves but their mouths -They mane 5 don't all live with each other, instead they live in different parts of Maretime bay. (Except for Izzy? She lives in bridle wood still.) -Make the mane 5, mane 6. Sprout is such a good contrast with their personalities. -They REBUILD SUNNY'S HOUSE IT WAS PERFECTLY FINE. -The crystal is NOT hovering over Sunny's home, I don't know where it will go. But I don't want it over Sunny's home. -Izzy doesn't unicycle Sunny's lantern -Holes don't randomly open when magic is disappearing. -Pipps minions need some re-designs urgently -At the end of MYM the dragon egg doesn't hatch and they only discover the egg near the end of the movie. and it's name is NOT SPARKY SPARKAROONI WHAT. (Also the baby dragon could lead to a nice plot point where the momma dragon comes looking for her baby -I'm apart of the writing team for G5
  16. Izzy's voice irks me so bad it's very distracting from the purpose of the episode.
  17. Exactly my problem, everything feels like it's being rushed and not fully fleshed out.
  18. Title basically. I was hyped for the movie and which it didn't necessarily didn't disappoint. Until scraps of the movie came out and honestly the original ideas were far more creative. Then I learn that the writers were kinda just winging it when writing the plot for the movie?? Then I learn that the reasons for the ponies having half a cutie mark and using stuff with their hooves were just design reasons. WHY? Then I learn that king Sombra is returning and so is discord, but not in the show. No, in the comics? Why the comics? Why not the show, also I'm not the biggest fan of reusing previous villains. (However I can kinda see someone (somepony) like Discord or Sombra returning???) Then we get the release of the 3D show and it has like the same quality of 3below. I understand though it's cheaply made, MLP g4 was crusty in the beginning but as more seasons were made you could see the improvement. I would hope the same happens with G5. That's if the story is good, I'm almost concerned that the show won't have a fleshed out story. My excitement for the series has been officially replaced with just nervousness. Anyone else feeling the same?
  19. Unfortunately where I live vandalism is not seen as a misdemeanor He did make them sign a "official sprout act." that made them not talk about the war he was planning to start. And though he wasn't pointing a gun towards anyone he was rude to the workers and made them work in situations where they could harm themselves I never said he was a war criminal, nor do I think he is a war criminal ( he just committed basic crimes) but if it weren't for Sunny (and his mother) I'm pretty sure he would cause a lot of damage I didn't, I was saying at the end of the film he was free wandering around in the movie. Asking his mother if he was a good sheriff (and in another storyboard for the film he's forced to apologize but that's it) I'm asking why did the movie make it seem like he was free, and then TYT says he's a wanted criminal?
  20. I think this will be my favorite episode. Despite it being a concept so overused it hurts. It was really funny. I was watching it in class and nearly screamed when I saw Phyllis walk through the door.
  21. "Not a criminal." You say as he managed to star a war in a day. (Destroying property, and coercion are considered crimes though right?) I don't understand why he would be wanted considering the ending of the movie. Nothing made it seem like he was going to be on the lam.
  22. Difference is Big Macintosh is dead (and he had an orange mane) 2. There's no other pony that's red and blonde in the movie (that we have yet to see) but it wouldn't make sense to put a random pony that supposedly happens to have a red coat, and a blonde slick-back hair due the way Sprout does.
