  1. Wait a second, so Twilight is going through this portal thing alone? Cool, so she's abandoning her friends in Equestria. That's fun. I realize some people may end up liking this, but this is my thoughts on the whole ordeal. So far I am not impressed.
  2. Hello my fellow bronies. As many of you probably know by now, Hasbro has released the first official trailer for the 'Equestrian Girls' movie. For the few of you who have been living in a cave, 'Equestrian Girls' is a new spinoff series of MLP: FiM where Twilight and co are sucked through a portal to the human world, being transformed into humans themselves. My little Pony without ponies, sounds brilliant I know. Does anyone else think that sounds like a badly written fanfiction? Never mind that. Today I am going to break down the trailer, pointing out things I like and things I hate. It is no secret that I am not very optimistic about this series being good, but I will try my best to break down this trailer fairly. Here is the trailer: So the trailer starts out with Twilight and Applejack walking towards a giant crystal castle. I would say it is very safe to assume that they are in the Crystal Empire. Twilight goes on about how she is nervous/excited before being greeted by all three princess'. It then cuts to Twilight in front of some sort of mirror. Celestia seems to be talking like she knows something about the world they are about to be sent to. Is this maybe part of her studies? Anyways, Twilight is now being sucked through some weird looking vortex; transporting her to the world of humans! (At least, I'm assuming they are humans. I haven't seen any humans with purple or blue skin before, have you?). She wakes up to the awkward sight of her own hands in front of her face, and Spike as a.... a dog?! Really? What did they do to you Spike?! Ugh, I guess it 'wouldn't make sense' to have a dragon in this series. Twilight then screams in horror at how awful her visual design has become. I'm sorry, It's been said to death but the visual designs are just... Stupid. She looks like a purple Bratz doll, while Spike looks like something out of Littlest Pet Shop. That's when all of my fears regarding this series manifested in front of my eyes. Twilight opens the doors of a high school. A god damn high school. Why is Twilight Sparkle in a high school? Why are any of them in high school? I always thought they were older than that. Think about it, they all live on their own and have jobs. Rarity is a business owner for Christ sake. Age inconsistencies aside, the fact that the movie/show takes place in a high school opens the door for a dangerous amount of stupid cliches. Speaking of which, cue the typical uninspired high school romance. That's right; from the looks of things it seems Twilight is going to have a love interest. Now I don't want to jump to conclusions or anything, but if every single high school drama ever has told me anything, this guy is going to be Mr perfect. He's attractive, kind, athletic, brave, all while having the personality of a piece of cardboard. And if you though one high school cliche was enough, cue bitchy mean girl! We see some red/yellow haired girl picking on Twilight for no other reason than to be the antagonist. Seriously, you see these god damn 'mean girl' characters in every teen movie ever. They have no depth to their character, they are overused and have no other goal in life than to make like miserable for the protagonist. Oh, and apparently Twilight's magic doesn't work now. Does that mean there is no magic in this new world? Probably. I love how a show called 'friendship is MAGIC', doesn't have magic in it anymore. I'm not too worried about this however; the entire movie will most likely be about Twilight regaining her magic. Then we see something that really confuses me. Vinyl Scratch? The CMC? I thought it was just the Elements of Harmony who got sent to this world. Did all of Ponyville get transported as well? That seems a little inconsiderate. Imagine it; you are just some poor background pony living out your happy life when BOOM! You are transported to another dimension and thrust into an unfamiliar body without having any say in the matter. But I digress. Moving on, Pinkie Pie tells Twilight about some sort of 'Princess of the ball' competition. Once again we are thrust into yet another High school cliche. Twilight will try to become prom queen, competing against the mean girl established earlier. If that wasn't enough, it is clear by the pictures on the wall that said mean girl is the prom queen several years running. One thing did catch my attention in this trailer however. When Twilight and her friends are tossing around what looks like the element of magic. Giant explosion ensues, enveloping who knows what. Does this mean that they had to use the elements to defeat an unannounced enemy? Because so far the mean girl is the only hint of an antagonist shown so far. I feel like using the elements to defeat a high school bully would be a tad overkill, would it not? But once again, I digress. Another major thing I noticed is that unlike the original designs, they lack their 'Pony' features, such as wings and horns. Original designs: You think someone like Rainbow Dash would be devastated by the loss of her wings. 'Sorry Dash, no more flying for you... Ever'. Yeah, I don't think she would really take that sitting down. My final thoughts on the trailer? Well that's kind of tough. I want to like this show, I really do; but there honestly hasn't been a single thing about this trailer that I enjoy. The plot of this movie seems like it's going to be just a mess of lazy cliches and tired concepts. Seriously, every major thing in this trailer seems to be something every damn teen movie ever made has used. The visual designs are awkward, the concept is skewed and the plot elements all seem either redundant or unbelievably cliche. I will still watch the movie however. I would like to give it a fair chance; who knows, it could surprise me. I will release a full review of the 'Equestrian Girls' movie once I get the chance to see it. -Lawful Jordo out.
  3. The entire trailer leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Seriously, everything about it screams lazy high school cliche. That trailer (Especially the part about the love interest) has pretty much sucked out all optimism I had about this movie/show.
  4. Hell yes. I love both AVGN and NC. I'm also a fan of Angry Joe, Jeremy Jahns, Jon Tron and Screen Junkies. Youtube reviewers are my favorite part about youtube to be completely honest. Been with the Nostalgia Critic since the beginning. Did you see the anime that AVGN and NC were in?
  5. While I have no prior reservations against turning into a pony, I'm not sure If I could bring myself to do it simply out of principal. They should not judge me because I am different. If being myself is a crime, I would rather rot in a jail cell than compromise who I am. Hopefully they will release me when they realize I mean them no harm.
  6. I've already pre ordered a Rainbow Dash one. They ship in June :3 So excited. http://www.toywiz.com/aurorarainbowdashlarge.html
  7. Meh, it's just as plausible as there actually being an afterlife to begin with. Who's to say your own afterlife is whatever you wan to make it? I don't believe in this sort of stuff, but I have to admit it would be a pleasant surprise.
  8. Rainbow Dash has always been my favorite for these reasons. She wants to be the best, to be remembered and loved; but unlike everyone else she is actually willing to work for it. Sure she may get cocky sometimes, though she can always back it up (Well, most of the time). she is confident, brave and willing to face down any challenge, she is the first person to stick up for you when the chips are down, and above everything else; she is the element of Loyalty. She would never abandon her friends or compromise her closely held ideals; even if it means giving up on her dreams.
  9. If you need any more animators I could probably help you out. My schedule is fairly packed, but I am an experienced animator. I also have tons of experience with storyboards. Just PM me if you need any help.
  10. This seems like a massive undertaking. Do you have the final draft of the script? Character designs? Concept art? Storyboards? How long do you intend to make this short? I hope you realize just how much time and effort goes into animating...Anything really. You may need a team of animators, not just one. I shudder at the thought of Motion Spark tackling it all alone, that is a massive workload. I will however, allow you to use my OC. If need be, I can also provide his voice. Here is a picture: Also, here is his Bio: "Jordo was born in Cloudsdale. He was born with a birth defect, his left wing never developed properly. He was forced to have a prothstetic left wing. Because of his wing, Jordo was a very weak flyer for a long time. When he went to flight school, he had a very tough time keeping up with the rest of the students; though he was determined to keep up. He became good friends with Cloudchaser, who helped him through flight camp. With extra help from Cloudchaser, he eventually got to the point where he could keep up with most of the Pegasus. Once he graduated Flight camp, he went to work in the weather factory. He was not the strongest flyer, and he was much better at MAKING the weather rather than managing it." I realize he will most likely be used as eye candy in the background, but if you need to work him into the story that's okay with me.
  11. Aphrodite? As in the Greek goddess of love and beauty? How can I say no to such a proposition?
  12. This is a great idea! I would love to be in this picture. Here is my OC, it would be nice if you could draw him flying around.
  13. I'm not sure If I'd be able to use bionic arms, considering I have hooves... Well that's mean 0.o What if somepony had something important to say? They'd be in the middle of a sentence, then WHAP! W...WHAT?! Marry you? But...But I don't even know you Oh, I get it. You were joking..... Yes, joking... Not much, got proposed to today. Kind of came out of nowhere It looks kind of crowded Maybe that's just because of the cars. I've never seen one in person, but I heard they take up a lot of space.
  14. Would anyone be interested in a Non-pony vigilante style RP?

  15. Atheist brony here. I grew up in a christian household, but I always kind of thought it was illogical to believe in an invisible man. Religion is a device created by early man to explain a strange world. Now we live in the age of science, we actually have answers to a lot of those questions. It baffles me that people choose to believe in mythology and ignore facts.
  16. A legendary Pokemon is in my bed? Good thing I have my masterball.
  17. If the multiverse theory is correct, there isn't just one Equestria; there are potentially millions. Every slight variation, each fanfiction, each head cannon; would all be a separate reality. Hell, If you've ever fantisized about being in Equestria, there is likely a universe where you are in Equestria. Again, that's IF the multiverse theory is a factual one. Multiverse theory is very tricky however. If it is true, we wouldn't even be able to fathom how many universes are actually out there. Claiming that there are billions, trillions, quintillions, septillions and even octillions of universes wouldnt even come close. Think about it; let's say you stubbed your toe this morning. A completely separate universe would be created. It would be identical to ours in every possible way, except you wouldn't stub your toe at that precise moment. There would be a universe for every single thing any organism has ever done or thought of. A universe for every single scenario; no matter how minuscule. It wouldnt stop there. Same logic applies to every other universe. If twilight sparkle wrote a novel, there would be a universe created in the setting of her novel. So there are potentially octillions of Equestrias out there.
